Hello forum! A few days ago, a friend who bought a rest yard pulled a Manta B GT/E out of a barn. There are no papers or similar information about the car. During the inspection, we noticed that the FIN was welded under the carpet on a 120×60 piece of sheet metal next to the passenger seat (bad). Since I am an enthusiastic screwdriver I played with the idea to make the car fit again, but this was due to the not original FIN The sheet metal is only dotted in and smeared with body seal. The numbers have probably been beaten into the sheet itself with hit numbers. Anyway, there is no lock sign in front of and behind the number (Raute or similar) Is the car worthless? What can you do now best? Demonstrate and scrap the body body and get a Rokarosserie with a letter? Is there still a FIN in the vehicle somewhere else? Don’t have any types either? Sign found in engine compartment. MfG, FaberCastell92

Wait/renew the drum brake at the rear of the Manta B
After having reworked the brake at the front of my manta, I now go to the . I take apart a drum brake for the first time and would like to work with this topic on the structure and the functioning of the brake gradually. I have attached a graphic to this article, in which I marked the components of the brake. I would be happy if someone – if I had interpreted something wrong – would point that out to me. I will use grinding paper to use the brake drum. inside (system surfaces of the brake pads) free as evenly as possible from the coarse rust. Since the wheel brake cylinders can be obtained very cheaply, I would renew them precautionarily. And since the pads also do not cost the world, a change would also be useful here. Thanks in advance once again for your help.

Kadett E 1.8 S Automatic Jubilee
Hello Opelaner, I have been driving my cadet E 1.8 S for 1 year now and am very satisfied with it. I notice that very little original parts are available especially for my model. Key numbers 0039//715. Does someone happen to know how many vehicles of this type are still currently on the road? I have the impression that I may have the last vehicle of this model. Who else owns this vehicle? Would I be happy to get to know more proud owners of these cars? My goal is to turn this car into a classic car.

Make Kadett C suitable for all needs
Hello! I have such a crazy idea:-) I don’t know if everything is technically possible or if someone has done something like this before, but it’s just an idea:-) Last WE I got a 5-day registration for my cadet and made my first bigger exit with it 🙂 I have to say it’s really fun driving with such an oldie – but above all I like the look, because if you drive through the city it’s really something else and a real hi ngucker*g* I would also like to drive the cadet more often and not only sometimes in beautiful Sunday weather (how often do you have nice weather here in Hamburg??), but also sometimes in everyday life. What else does one have about it? Since the cadet can not necessarily be classified as “suitable for everyday use” for today’s road conditions and besides today’s usual safety devices are not available, I play with the idea to make the car “fit for everyday use”. Optis It should definitely stay the way it is! It won’t be done! Already done: – Restoration – Painting – Chassis (Koni yellow) What I would like to do would be: – Protect the body intensively against rust (well-space sealing, etc.) – Conversion to 2.0i 85kW engine (e.g. from the Omega A) – CAT – Gearbox and axle (e.g. from the Omega A) – Brake system from the record E – Comfortable seats*g* (still back pain from the small exit*g*) What I have in mind now sounds like As if I want to “hush” the car. However, if I drive the car even in bad weather and on long distance, I do not want to do without ABS and airbags. My question now: Is it possible to equip the car with ABS afterwards? (e.g. complete brake system incl. ABS from an Omega A) Is it also possible to install an airbag? There are finished steering wheels with airbag, but you also need crash sensors, right? I know the latter sounds pretty crazy. but I would like to know if something like that would be possible and what all would cost together… Maybe one of you has already noticed one or the other:-) PS: Pictures of the Kadett see signature 🙂 Greeting and thanks in advance, Alex

Opel thieves
Hello Opel friends, as reported to me on 14.03. in Hamburg my beautiful 64er record Coupe abducted by unknowns, see article Opel-Klau. So far it has not reappeared and to give me completely the rest I have now received mail from the authority. In it I is informed that the procedure is closed ! Dated is the letter on the 07.04. So they have already given up after 3 weeks. Of course not at all. I want my car back and I want that d They get what they deserve! Especially since I saw all kinds of people driving around with their oldies on the weekend. That really hurt. So I would like to ask for your help again. Please let me know if such a vehicle appears or is offered somewhere. This is what it looks like:http://www.basis-stpauli.de/bilder/basis/jdmc31-05-03/Jun06-42.jpg Thank you very much

Old Opel!
Hello, so yesterday I saw a Opel, in my opinion already a bit older, how old I can not say exactly, would roughly appreciate that it would have to lie somewhere between 70-90, I know exactly. Unfortunately there was nowhere for a model, only byre the Opel sign. Form can be compared to the Golf 1, only a little rounder. Hope someone can help me and tell me what that is. Thank you!
