  • 98’er MGM – Request for exchange of experience / Opinion

Hello guys. 4 months ago, the US car fever also grabbed me and just I bought me a 98′ Mercury Grand Marquis. Who first drove an Ami, would like to have no other car so quickly. So I separated from my former 3rd E46 BMW and now use the MGM as a daily driver. But I also noticed that this car itself is relatively rare in the US Car Community. Would ask at this point which of you yourself this car is very common. I’d like to know what experience you’ve had with it and what you should have an eye on in a proper way. It’s my 4.6 L V8 SOHC engine, which is fed with LPG by a Prins gas system. I’ve got 108 tMi on the clock, but the engine runs like a clockwork. Only the chassis is a bit worn out by now, but that’s not unusual in terms of mileage. . New dampers and wheel bearings are already in work. Thank you already in advance and hope that I am not the only one who drives the thing…

  • Ford Mercury Cougar, purchase advice

Hello guys, unfortunately I am quite a layman in the field. Would like to buy a US classic car. In any case a nice 8 cylinder, which is not controlled. I just want to cruise with it a little bit and am not a perfectionist. I don’t care about fuel and insurance costs. What do you think of this one?https://suche.mobile.de/…/details.html?…

  • Is the Grand Cherokee still to be recommended?

Is the Grand Cherokee still recommended? e.g.http://autoscout24.de/…/detail.asp?… I don’t know about the car, but a gas conversion would tempt me. Can the box still handle a lot of things at the LL? How is the car in the reliability and height of the cost/availability of the e-parts?

  • Gentle rust removal roof???

After the restoration of my Monte Carlo also removed the Vynil roof, of course I found rust again… not very much, but in some places it has already gone a little deeper into the sheet metal. After the sheet metal on the roof is already so thin and easy to press, I was definitely advised from sandblasting, otherwise the whole roof can become wavy. A friend said that I should treat everything with Fertan, then wash it off and 2 times with Brunox Epoxy Does anyone have experience with the stuff or any other idea??? Thank you! Greeting Daniel

  • 150×300 Marks and DayRunningLights

Hi guys! In the registration office of my district there is an official who obviously doesn’t like US cars and has missed me TROTZ INTRACTION(!) in the car registration mark motorcycle (200×300). Of course, they don’t fit 100% and I have the rear registration mark on his instructions somewhat truncated and bent (the TÜV seal is now no longer readable without problems). I tried to get a suitable registration mark several times, but even the TÜV scatters and finds excuses. My second question: are DRLs in the form of bright front-blinkers allowed or not? I have the front-stand lights in the flasher of my Firebird again jammed and find this next to the optical effect more safety in the day. I am so convinced that today I am the flashers of my golf 2 ‘converted’ accordingly… a friend tried to talk to me in my conscience…

  • Camaro Questions

Hello US-Car friends, I stumbled over the Camaro Cabrio while searching for a two-seater online (EZ 99-01) and the part doesn’t let me go at the moment anymore, which is of course because I’ve been “susceptible” in relation to US cars for a long time Ok, but before I introduce the “buy will” to my government, I would like to first of all from you professionals this one or other knowledge. I have to move in front of the car daily about 120km (yes…despite fuel prices) and there of course the Driving comfort and reliability. Can you drive such routes easily with such a car over years? Do used cars with a slightly higher mileage still come into question (from about 50TKm upwards)? What does the car take in extra-urban, BAB, city? How much taxes are due (has E3 standard, doesn’t it?)? Does the Camaro of this year have any weaknesses that should be looked at more closely when buying used cars? What is the best thing to pay attention to? r engine in general (don’t know). Is the automatic usable and how many steps does it have (bin Aisin-“damaged” Opel driver)? What are the inspection intervals and what costs do you have to reckon with? What about spare parts and their procurement … the Camaro is no longer built, right? I found on the fast only a single indication about the length …does it agree that the car is about 4.90m long? A lot of questions…but I am really newgie and hope you understand it and can answer one or the other question.

  • Brake power amplifiers

Hello, My Mercedes 500 K replica with corvette engine, does not brake satisfactorily. I have to climb strongly on the pedal to block the wheels half way short. I used to have a Camaro, and in which I am always on the brake with the foottips. Have a noble brock carburetor and the vacuum of the brake system is connected in the middle of the rear. What can this be, someone has an idea?

  • Squeaking while driving and loud bobbing at the start

Hello, Unfortunately my US forum could not help me here. I drive a 1968 Buick Riviera, recently the following problem occurs: At 2 exits I now had the problem of having a squeaking high-toned even grinding appearance only during the return rides. The longer I drove this was all the louder. When rolling slowly at a traffic light as it goes off Rattert it to the very loud metallic. Unfortunately, the sounds are hard to describe. wheel bearing, cardan shaft or brake?

  • 76-79 cadillac Seville lower

Hello, I would like to buy a 76-79er cadillac seville. Originally I had to buy an 80-84er coupe deville before me, but because of the bad feedbacks about the engine installed by cadillac I got back from this idea. After some research I came across the seville, which I now also like better. My question to you here in the forum is whether there is a possibility to put this series of seville a little deeper so that the car a little bit more lo wrider look get. I haven’t found it on the net yet. I only found a picture at pinterest on which I think the car is a bit deeper. I would be very happy about feedback. Greetings from Berlin Andreas
