Hello, Mr. Wash recently costs the 10W 40 oil just as much as the 15W 40 oil when changing oil. Why is that so nobody could explain to me but they wanted to convince me to take the better oil at the same price because of cleaning effect etc. I once learned that one does not change the oil class in old cars because the additives can dissolve deposits and similar in the engine and then the engine starts to clap? What is right? Change to the better oil or continue driving 15W 40? I drive a 200 petrol Bj 1983 with approx. 190,000 kilometers. Thanks for your tips!

Air suspension for 250 W114
Hello guys, I have a question. I would like to install an airride in my Mercedes W114. Chassis of HighestLow and air production and air management of Accuair. (Endo CVT tank and e-level) is the current plan If the chassis itself has a part inspection, I need one for the rest? (in case of doubt individual acceptance) Second question regarding H-marks.. I have already seen some W115/W114 showing oldtimer with airride and H-marks. Has someone had experiences or has relations with the nice gentlemen of TÜV. (best of all South-East Germany/Low Bavaria) Thank you Jonas

Painting costs for a limousine – experiences?
Hello, I have asked in a workshop, the old cars (mostly MB) restored, for the estimated costs for a (complete) painting of my W202. The answer seemed quite high to me (would not want to blow out the exact span at first). They told me especially Metallic varnishes are more expensive. First of all: Yes, it would be wise to have an offer made by a paintmaker. Unfortunately, my car is currently not so 100% traffic-proof, so I don’t want to drive around unnecessarily. Especially because I almost assume that I will answer prices that will end my “project” finally. So:1) What would be appropriate in my case?Color: BRILLANTSILBER – METALLICLACK (744U)Quality: so good that the average person perceives it as a normal painting and does not identify it as a bad quality – but it doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect (hope you understand how I mean that).2) Have you had your oldtimer painted already and what it cost? Interestingly: Which color / how long is the cost?

Buick Lesabre – Overtake the main brake cylinder brake rack amplifier
Hello everybody, it’s me again. Unfortunately, my project also seems to have the brake booster over. Is there a company in NRW that overtakes something like that? At Rockauto you could send it in and overtake it. Cost 170€, but then it’s 6 weeks away. Greeting Alex

Levante S: Who has already driven/compared him???
Hello, we are currently driving a 2016 VW Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI. Since we are following the “diesel discussion” attentively and do not want to believe (more) the promises of the manufacturers, the next car will become a gasoline engine. Now we are looking for an SUV that offers comparable space conditions in the interior / case room. Really well done is the back bench at the Touareg – neat space and also a tiltable backrest. We do not like the air suspension, even in the “sports- Mode” the car swings a bit … in fast motorway curves the Touareg feels a bit insecure. As alternatives we thought of: – the Maserati Levante S …. has someone experience with the space conditions and the chassis ??? space for 4-persons ? chassis relatively sporty or rather indirect/comfortable ?? consumption ? (at 40 km per day and of which about 50% in the city.) Alternatively we thought of: Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 or 5.7 Summit Cadillac XT5 Cadillac is in the last I hope that even with the new XT5 the chassis for Europe was tuned relatively sporty and tight and not too soft??? I read an interesting test at the Jeep, it was praised as a summit for a high-quality and extensive equipment, but the soft chassis was very much criticized and this is the point that makes us worry. Who can do something about the Levante as Benzi? What is the chassis like? Does the car feel sporty and safe or too soft on the motorway at speed 160? (even in motorway curves) …. what is the consumption? What are the space conditions? Can one sit well on the back bench as an adult? Is the trunk well usable or does the function of the shape follow here? Does anyone else worry about the diesel besides us? Can one plan better with a petrol engine? We also have to be in six or seven In addition, they are still allowed to travel to Hanover or Hamburg for years to come.

Experience with Enginetech’s Master Kit for engine revision, eg Ford FE 390
Hello all, I was offered a engine overhaul kit by Enginetech on the search for Ford FE. At google I came across offers on eBay. Since the prices there are very cheap (except the postage) makes me doubt the quality. Here’s my question. Has anyone here ever had experience with the quality of these kits from Enginetech and how was the…? Greetings and Happy Easter Thomas

Maximum speed without electronic control
What is the maximum speed to be expected, if one in the mentioned US vehicle with 5.3 liters displacement and 273 hp ( top speed at 160 K/mh regulated), the control so to speak deactivated, however this works, by chip tuning, or by other interventions? Would this also increase the acceleration capacity further? Should at higher final speeds conversions be made on the vehicle? How much more consumption would one have to expect then?

Buick PA – Subframe (engine Cradle) rusted through
Hello US-CAR municipality, today a very sad news. When the workshop wanted to change the engine carrier bearings she found out that the photos are flawed. There does not seem to be a proper support surface for the rubber bearings anymore. The whole is called Frame Kit or also Subframe or Engine Cradle (88952019) but nowhere else can I find it new. Is there someone who still has such a motor carrier for the PA and which is healthy? My second consideration would have been the dare Is this possible at all? Until I have found such a frame, the PA has now been pulled out of the traffic. I am grateful for any help, don’t have to be on the crossbars that are only a few months old with my PA. Dejected greetings, Tommy
