Car broken out of workshop – what could have happened?
Hello! I want to get my car (type doesn’t matter) out of the workshop. The mechanic tells me that there is a problem with the battery. The car then starts with the help of a “power booster” and I drive home. The voltage indicator fluctuates when I drive home, e.g. when I press the electric windows. My guess is that the car runs on battery and not on a lich machine, although all control lamps stay out. I first measured the battery. n: 12,1 Volt Well, well, battery to the charger – charging current approx. 1 Ampere. So according to my modest knowledge, there is not much to do when charging. After about 5 hours I clamp the battery again. Interior lighting after the door opens again normal. But already when the ignition is switched on, this darkens and the control lamps only glow darkly and in the engine room is a ticker to hear. (no start attempt, in order not to break any more!) What could have broken there? The workshop only had the order to change the brake pads and check the car (purchased 4 weeks ago). I will talk to the mechanic tomorrow. Maybe you can give me a tip on what the error can be. Gruss Uwe

Hello together, today I installed my ignition cable and carburetor on the plym satellite in 1972 and filled up fluids, and then wanted to turn the motor briefly (wire from ignition coil to distributor I left out) had my battery charged and built in. ignition keys turned, nothing happened, no noise, zero! lights + flasher worked, didn’t go. I took another battery for the test, also no success. I measured from the plus pulse of the battery to the starter, came 11,4v. before I revised the engine everything went without problems. I looked briefly into the security box and at first glance did not see any defective security, I have not measured it yet. where should I start with the error search? if the battery is connected, should at least light+blinker work. I went through the wiring several times, but could not discover anything. there are certain places I should measure, or something like a “haup” if someone has a Wiring-diagram I would also be grateful! thanks already for all tips and pointing out! greetings tom

More consumption/loss of power for exhaust tuning
Good evening, to what extent the replacement of the original exhaust system affects the fuel consumption and the performance. If the original system is replaced by e.g. a continuous pipe/empty pots/bulbs etc., does this necessarily increase the consumption? Does the car lose power? Does a car engine need counter pressure as with a 2Tacter ? mfg Jockel

Meal.. I wanted to ask – what did you actually have for experience regarding the consumption of your V8?? I once had a Dodge D150 PickUp with 350 Chevy (Holley racing carburetor) – had so 260hp.. There was the consumption range of 16 to 40 liters (depending on the driving mode) 16 liters = clear.. NULL fun, always as low as possible from the gas dosage *grins* 20-23 liters was with normal, moderate driving 25 to 30 liters = more fun while driving, also sometimes druaftritt and the lead I had already tried to find posts on the topic via the search function (wouldn’t want to boil the topic up for the xth time if necessary..) but there was nothing about the keyword consumption.. Okay, so far I’ve only been reading quietly, but maybe someone will still help me. It’s about this offer:click a 91 Thunderbird for 1250€. Actually I’m looking for a Buick, but I couldn’t resist the price. If not… yes, if not the Tüv only go until October and all the other T-Birds from the time would cost about three times. The offer is actually too nice to be true. The car seems to have been standing for a long time. in it, maybe someone has looked at it once and knows where the hook is at the thing? 78er Trans At the power increase
Hope anyone knows advice, because even telephone demand at TÜV Rheinland has remained without results. How can I get a full report for a 78er Trans Am with a performance-optimized 6.6 l engine. The standard 220 hp was increased in a specialized workshop in the USA to 450 hp. Supposedly a certificate from Pontiac is necessary, which shows that the chassis is suitable for the increased performance. I think it’s logical that you won’t get it in 2007. However, I’ve already seen more motorized Trans Ams in local areas. How did their owners only get their reports? Fast advice would be very gratifying…

American radios, especially Buick PA
Hello everybody, I have a question again. With my Buick PA the original radio is still installed, but it has its music. 1. it is still set to the Ami frequency dial, if I search sender then come only odd decimal numbers in question. So 102.9, 91.3 etc. something like 99.8 or 104.4 just doesn’t work. Can I change that? The Buick is finally the Eu model. 2. The cassette drive somehow spins. I plug in a cassette and then he spins like crazy. and here and spit out the cash again. What can that be? Thank you for the answers.

Caprice equipment distribution in the year 1989
After a long search in the I-Net I found an old brochure from Chevrolet to the 1989 Caprice. For me it should be exclusively the 1989er, because of the injection engine and certain design components like the large headlights instead of the 2 small ones on each side. Does anyone know how the equipment variants were distributed? Especially interesting would be the Brougham LS as a top equipment. Unfortunately it is incredibly hard to find an LS. In Germany there is probably no one and even at Eb I saw only one aymotors 6 months ago in a state to cry. Was the LS ever sold at all? If someone had numbers there, that would be really helpful. Greetings Brother Tac P.S. For those who still know me here. Yes I once played with the idea of having a Chevelle, Bel Air or a Charger. But somehow they were not the right thing. I mourn my ’84s after but now it should be one of 1989 because last model and injection engine.

ABS or brake pliers to blame?
With my car I changed the brake hoses the other day. I had the suspicion that a brake pliers with longer driving gaaaaanz easily start to clamp. Heist so much, that a bolt on the pliers was not smooth or its socket latched out. However, if I brake sharply, immediately on the right side starts to regulate the ABS. Or did it move through the broken hose there ev. what?! P.S: Before changing the hoses she left the one only with a brake piston without a brake hose, I could push the brake piston in with 2 fingers. So still exchange the brake tongs?
