  • day-to-day ami

hi us car community, I have to get an ami every day. of course I already have 3-4 favorites in mind, but can’t quite decide if there isn’t any hidden price traps. by that I mean taxes and insurance issues, as well as consumption … I prefer a buick rivera or regal end 80ies – early 90ies, or a Chevy caprice of the 90ies … you can imagine what I mean. what experiences have you made, what to drive with best … natΓΌrl I only have half-year registration, winter I will spend with a japanerschl*mpe … =;O) mfg

  • Which big blocks fit in which vehicles

Hi together, right at the front: that’s just a question of interest, doesn’t write at all, that if you don’t know something like that, don’t think about buying a car like that. I’m only 17 So: Is there any stop points about which you find out, which big blocks(only refer to the Mopar and those of General Motors) fit into Which vehicles? Question because there are also new blocks of them and therefore I don’t know what fits in where without changing the frame. The Mopars would have to go into the boxes of Chrysler (Dodge, Plymouth, etc.) without further ado, the ones that had V8 BB’s at that time, or? Charger, Chaleger, Cuda,… Just like the GM blocks into the vehicles that were equipped with big blocks from GM (must be Chevy, Pontiac, etc.). If that’s the case, how is a car adapted for Mopar on a GM engine? Do you have to change something on the engine suspension (doesn’t know exactly what it’s called) or do they have to change something on the engine suspension (dodge, Plymouth, etc.). identical dimensions? Wouldn’t be great if someone could explain that to me=) And what else: e.g. the GM 572 block, the biggest one the out of the stable I had seen listed on an English page with 13000$. In Germany it costs his 21000 EURO, come there really again 10000Euro in inches and import on it?! That’s really something….happy? MfG 8Street

  • Metallic noises driving backwards – Video inside

Evening, after the Sunshell was broken in my TH700, the gearbox was repaired and reinstalled. It runs well, but since the installation unsightly noises occur, when from the stand a bit stronger is hit backwards. In the video you can hear this quite well the first time, it is a kind of metallic hitting and it also comes from the region where the gearbox is located. More precisely it can not be located. The car was already on stage and nothing was lost. The mechanic also heard the sound, but can’t yet rhyme on it. It’s NOT reproducible as desired, so it doesn’t occur every time. I would say it sounds externally, so nothing inside the gearbox. Can’t fool me. Does anyone have a spontaneous inspiration? Best regards.

  • Coolant Reservoir

Hello Motor-Talkers I have in my car a cooling water tank that has become seemingly opaque over time. Similar to the container in the picture. (The picture is from another website, but looks exactly the same, also the shape) If I fill in water/forest protection now until I see the water level through the opening, I am already above the “Full Cold”. (Through the special shape of the container.) Is there a kind of overpressure valve in the cooling system? Which seals destroy permanently… Greetings Domi

  • Chevy blazer 6.2 diesel gearbox switching problem

I know this is certainly not the only entry because of the switching problem… so my blazer switches into the next gear only at very high speed. even if I give very little gas. so about 50 kmh in the 2nd and 85 in the 3rd, no matter if warm or cold. underpressure is there (ventilation can be improved) jez has it at the top of the engine at the suction bridge where the gas train goes in the driving direction right so small part where 2 underruck hoses go one of them (the top) goes to the transmission . the other one in part looks like a large underpressure box under the air filter at the back of the engine. soo I’ll ever renew the two hoses. then jeman knows if the hose where from the transmission really comes to the top connection? what’s that for a built-in? and then still a thing my gas pedal has a kickdown switch in the top of the peal. but if I completely step through the pedal it doesn’t get to the switch there is about 1 centimeter of air in between… must certainly also ni doesn’t the switch have to switch to pass through or does it only turn on when pressing? would be very grateful for a few tips

  • Chevrolet G20 interior insulation

Moin! Got my entire interior out of the G20 van and plan how I want to do something. I’m thinking about the insulation; before that it was a kind of 5cm thick insulation wool, similar to glass wool. But it has not scratched so much Now the question is what I use as insulation material. Would be very grateful for suggestions, experiences!

  • Presentation

I’m called Julian am 18 years old, and lives near Koblenz and got a Buick Century 3.3 from 1993 113,000 KM in a TipTop condition. We still have a Pontiac transport. Since I love from toddler to Amy and grew up with I have decided to drive now also one =). The car comes from USA but was admitted to airbase and finally civilian in Luxembourg, now I have in front of the car here in Germany with a season registration too I have already renewed a lot and soon there will be a big inspection with all filters and liquids before I will also carry out Ami driver (Mustang, Beretta) with a friend. The car was given all around new brakes and shock absorbers by the old woman from Luxembourg shortly before his departure. So the car still has Luxembourgish papers and since there was no EU version of this model according to my research there are no other headlights or Rear lights. What do I have to do now so that I can allow it in Germany ???? Thanks already in advance, if there are still questions, asks πŸ˜‰ vlg Julian πŸ˜‰

  • Need help to choose an exhaust system for my 454 BB in the Corvette

Hello together, for my new addition (1974 Corvette with 454 Big Block) I am currently researching for the purpose of a new exhaust system. Currently there are fat sidepipes to it, After Market and in Germany certainly not allowable. Now I have looked around something. There is on eBay a dealer, and also at Ecklers an article, which offers an entire set quasi from Krummer including pots. Click hereClick here again The price is actually moderate I find, The question is how is the quality? The pipes look somehow more bent than bent. In addition, the engine that is currently in the car is slightly changed. It has an increased compression of 11:1, hydraulic scooter lifts, a highrise intake original heads “processed” and a Holley carburetor Of which I don’t know the size. Unfortunately, I also don’t know much about what was done on the engine with the sidepipes the really good forwards but those were other dimensions of pipes. Is a e 2.5 inch system as they offered sufficient for this engine configuration? Or should you go a little bit bigger? Does anyone have experience with one or the other product? Besides, I’m not sure if there should be original cast manifolds again, or headers. What do you think about it? There are cast manifolds at Rockauto for 99 dollars the piece. Is that good?Link to the Manifold Or is all this crap, and you should rather have a plant made in Germany? Contact, or a rough benchmark, which costs such a facility in Germany? Many questions! I count on you πŸ™‚ Greeting Marc
