Good morning! Have a question about the VIN. It’s about a Ford Mustang BJ. 1966. Here it was usual with Ford that the “carriage number” was inserted into the right frame. In addition, the driver door on the doorplate had the VIN. See also here: this should look right: http://www.californiaplaytoys.com/…/6330-VIN-tag.jpg or here the VIN are also installed according to Ford http://iml.jou.ufl.edu/projects/students/blommel/vin.jpg The export of a car from the USA is only by US-T It is possible. Is the VIN basically recorded here and can e.g. be asked about Carfax? Can one ask for a copy of the title at the registration office for emergency (was that of the importer)? In my case, the VIN was removed at the right frame, crossed over and hit left! In addition, Doorplate removed. I don’t find it that completely kosher…A schelm who thinks bad about it.. Ciao and already thank you very much! Frank

1976 Have Cadillac delivered from Rotterdam or drive down yourself?
Dear friends, I bought a 76 Cadillac Coupe de Ville from a collector in Denver in September.http://www.abload.de/gallery.php?key=i6odHt19 Today or tomorrow the ship arrives in Rotterdam. Transport to Bavaria would cost 625 euros. If the weather remains so mild and dry, I think about driving down the car myself. (800 km) Oil change is made – supposedly everything works tip top. A friend of mine drove the car in Denver Probe in September – and 1976 CDV – exit from the hall 1976 CDV – test drive One thing is clear: with an almost 40-year-old car something can always be broken. And if temperatures <5 degrees or even snow are announced, I leave it naturally. Salt should not get rid of the car. On the other hand: when charging on a car transporter something can also be broken. What would you do: get delivered? You can of course say: You have to do that. know - but maybe there are aspects that I haven't considered yet. Thank you!

Does anyone know these rims?
Hello I have found a Cobra in South Africa, which is dusty for almost 30 years in a hall, but almost looks new. Manufacturer is Shamrock, South Africa. After the import to Germany I have compiled a documentation of more than 25 pages ( Ford V8 351 W, complete Edelbrock Performer Kit, Toploader 4 gear, Jaguar XJ6/XJ12 axles and brakes ). What I need now is an information about the rims ( back 10 x 15 with 275/60 15, front 8 x 15 with 235/60 15 ). Ht someone can give me a hint, who the manufacturer of these rims is. Unfortunately, no marking on the rim is to be found. Also the manufacturer of the shifting rod is not yet identified and the cladding of the steering stick is missing, also hints would be nice. Would again be further building blocks in the documentary. I have attached pictures. For any hint I would be grateful. Greeting Pluemo

Cadillac ATS-V
Hello US-Car-Forum! As a friend of automotive individuality I am happy about the recently presented new vehicles of GM. In my opinion the current Cadillac and Corvette models represent an equal alternative to vehicles of European provenance. Today I noticed the new Cadillac ATS-V, 461hp, 3.9s on 100 and about 300 km/h fast, with manual transmission or the new 8-speed automatic from the Corvette (source: AMS). Since here mainly about old and youngtime I just wanted to put this model for discussion. Greeting Pagani

Dodge Ram SRT10 Buy?
Hello, I want to get a pick-up. Mri noticed that there is already a cheap dne Dodge Ram SRT10 with Viper engine. Now my question why are the partly cheaper like those with smaller engines? Thought because of the taxes of 8,3L but that should cost only 170€ in the year. Ok consumption is high but does not drive much. Or there are other reasons. Gladly experiences from Ram riders.

small license plate on the Mustang GT
My registration office does not want to approve a short registration plate for the new registration of my Mustang, although in the report for obtaining an individual approval from TÜV Nord this is noted with the following entry: Length of the rear registration plate 390mm My Mustang has a registration plate at the rear, which can only accommodate this shortened registration plate. The Zula thinks that they would accept all entries from this certification in the new vehicle letter, except this On the report is the wrong TÜV stamp – it is not bound to the TÜV Nord, which is why I have to have a license certificate manufactured by TÜV Süd. There, however, only one test report for a large, two-line number plate is produced for me, which, however, has to be looked down with 3 centimeters over the hollow and underfeeded, so that it is not too sloping. Then, according to the TÜV examiner, the license plate lighting no longer fits, so that I new solder r should drill into my bumper to illuminate the registration plate from bottom to top – a cost factor for the conversion of 300.- Euro is reasonable to the holder. What do I do during the sale, if the vehicle is registered in a circle that allows a shortened registration plate? A new push rod costs more than 300.- Euro. In addition, the Dipl. Ing of the TÜV Nord, with which I telephoned, there is the risk that the overhanging sign will work on a fast journey through the turbulence upwards. and can be lost. Apart from the risk of injury – by the way also with pedestrians. Now good advice is expensive. What do I do and how can I convince my Zula of the necessity of the shortened license plate?

AHK insert welded – remove again
Hi, everybody, I signed for my new flicker on Friday. He has a fixed AHK. So he welded the US-Bock and the slot. On the photo you can see this from above. I absolutely don’t need the AHK, so it should go away again. Does anyone have experience there? Work the welding seam with an angle grinder until the part goes off again? Thank you in advance.

Exceptional. §70 StVZO – transferable to new holders…?
Hello, in the search function I found nothing specifically on this topic… One question in the round, in US car circles one knows oneself with the topic of exemptions according to §70 StVZO yes by necessity quite well, Stw. small plates, red indicators, no standlight etc. I intend to acquire a year old car with an existing, equally old exception permit (not license plate size, but other points). The car remains in the county from which it comes, and The question is: does the exemption permit, which on the one hand belongs to the vehicle with VIN, but on the other hand bears the name and address of the current owner, have to be rewritten to me? How are the experiences à la “controls” here, remains the approval in principle valid etc.? – Would be nice if someone can say something about it. Thank you! & friendly greetings BP

Purchase of a Kadett D
Hello in the round! First of all I introduce myself briefly: My name is Dominik, I am 39 years old and I have already driven some vintage cars, especially in the area Altopel (among others record D/E). I have already started the hobby “Oldtimer” for about 20 years, at that time with beetles. For the next season I want to fish a Kadett D. My view has fallen on this museum piece, which is probably already known to one or other: https://suchen.mobile.de/…/details.html?… Adett is said to have less than 10,000 km on the clock and is completely original in the new car condition. The price is fine with m.M. Unfortunately, the “serious” dealer has extremely bad reviews and the car is very far from my home town (300 km). What do you think of the car? You must know that I have always only bought firsthand vehicles from the 70s/80s and was always satisfied so far. Rather spend a little more than invest thousands in repairs afterwards. … Currently I have a 1985 MB 190E from first hand with just 40,000 km on the clock. You see, that’s possible. 🙂 Maybe someone from the corner of Overath comes and could look at the vehicle for me? If it is actually as jewellery as in the pictures, I would buy the part for the coming season. The 1200 sewing machine engine doesn’t bother me – it depends on the overall condition. Also the lean “luxury” equipment doesn’t bother me. The vehicle will be with me anyway. r as second-oldie moved in nice weather. Thank you and many greetings Dominik
