  • Which US Car should I buy?

    evening I want to get an Ami but I don’t know about these vehicles now I wanted to ask you if you don’t want to help me? I’ll post my introductions 1: it should be a V8 with a sporty look e.g. Corvette 2: it should be as economical as possible I don’t want a box to soak 20 liters or more 3: since I can only make a little myself it should be robust 4: cheap in the purchase about 500€ and I know that I demand a lot but I’ll get my everyday car Is there something like this on the US market? What do you think there is a model that is suitable for me? Thank you

  • High idle and CHECK ENGINE SOON

    Hello I have recently had a strange problem with my Pontiac Grand Am (1992, 3.3L V6): After switching on (whether cold or warm) I have an idle of 2000U/min, after a few times pressing the accelerator pedal he has the normal idle, but then goes again to a about 300U/min too high idle. The flashing of the error code pointed to the throttle valve sensor as culprit. But I have just replaced, no improvement. If I during the operation the plug from the se nsor pulls, the engine swallows short. Wiring should therefore be OK. Could this still be due to the crankshaft ventilation? If I remove the hose there I already have a light vacuum (tested with my finger). However, is for mine rather bad, but have no experience values which is normal… Does any of you still have some possible sources of error in mind? I know, is difficult if you don’t have the engine in front of you, but ev. had the same effect someone here… Greetings Dominik

    Hi people Since I’m picking up my 66 Pontiac GTO next week I wanted to ask with what kind of fuel these old cars drive.I know it’s a stupid question.But I hear from some people that these old cars still need leaded gasoline and others say normal gasoline is enough.Would be very grateful for an answer.   • Chevy 350 engine boosters

    Hello, I recently got a Chevy Chevelle from 1970 in which a 1972 engine was installed. My question is now, how can I get out of such a 165 hp engine the original power of 1970, i.e. so about 300 hp (on the rear axle)? Is that possible with relatively little effort (about 2000 €)? I was thinking of another camshaft (so what like the CompCams PART #K12-234-2, www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/CamDetails.aspx?csid=84&sb=2 ), and a different suction bridge. care, a double pipe exhaust system, HEI distributor and it is a noble brock carburettor (500 CFM) installed.   • Tahoe – engine problems?!

    Hello US-Car driver I have a problem with my Chevrolet Tahoe 5.7l V8, built in 99. And that is: I have a gas system (Prins VSI) since about February this year (2008) in my Tahoe. Until now there have never been any great problems. But now to the problem which occurred today for the 2nd time. I go, and after 1-2km the gas tank goes on. Everything is normal. Since there was only very little gas in the tank, he switched off as always after a short drive, since everything is empty t! Problem, however, is that it does not run round in petrol operation! It runs like, for example, in winter, when the pipes are not really warm yet, so stutters all the time and does not bring any performance! In winter, this goes away after a few seconds, minutes (referring to the example!). But today (and a few months ago this was the same) it didn’t go away at all. Even when I am in stand (N, idle) lightly on the gas, no power arrived, but it stuttered everything n ur! When the problem came up for the first time it went away after a short time. Do you have any idea what that might be about?!

    Hi, last night on the highway my Tahoe started to stutter in gas operation (Tartarini sequential plant Turbo 8), after switching to petrol operation that was gone. At the same time the heating failed. Since no documentation was provided with the Tartarini system, I know very little about its function and can not really establish connections in case of vehicle disturbances. Whether e.g. stuttering of the engine in gas operation and heating failure are causally related, I can not wi Perhaps you could judge this – I hope for example on DonC I have now written to Tartarini Germany via email and asked for documentation about the designation and task of the installed units, troubleshooting and functional principle. I think that in the case of such a large-scale intervention in the engine technology a documentation should be taken for granted, even if I would never fiddle about the gas system myself. However, I must at least be able to decom whether I go to the GM dealer with my heating problem (which will probably have zero idea of the Tartarini plant) or to the installation operation of the gas plant, which certainly does not have the GM-specific diagnostic equipment and GM-trained employees.   • Firebird runs round and goes out!

    Hello. Got a big problem with my Pontiac Firebird 3.2 V6 from 1991. The car has now run 170,000 km, just bought it. When it is cold it runs normal. But sobalt the car has operating temp. and I drive to the traffic light it goes out. If I then start it again, but it does not run really round again. Since it is an automatic, this is really terrible with the constant going out. Who can tell me what the problem is here. The ignition maybe? Please help me! eu me over every answer! Greet Alex
