  • Rugging and loss of performance

Good morning together, I just got out of the vacation and found a problem on the return journey from the airport to home. This problem also has a history: When I was about a month ago on the way to work, my car started to jerk and lost power. The car did not take any more gas, the speed decreased to a standstill and the car went out immediately when the clutch was pedaling. Although he had to start again after a short time and accelerated first normal, but already after a short time, symptoms repeated themselves o.g. Symptoms until the recumbent. I decided to pull a yellow angel and let myself be dragged to the nearest workshop. In this workshop, the following works were done: – Set valves – Change fuel filter – Change prefilter (at the tank) The latter has allegedly sat down and should have been the cause. The car then moved very little again until I just got back from the vacation and repeated myself on the home path. This time I did not get any help, but rather took the break with some forcible signs.

  • Is that what it’s all about?

Hello Together Can the possibly defective vacuum box be the fault, that the automatic transmission no longer switches to 3 and 4 ?—- W 123 230e Bj.82 (oil and filter already renewed) Greetings Bernd

  • Block brakes in the back!

Hey together I’ve got a problem, my brakes have gone to the rear while driving. So I renewed both saddles as I assumed that they would be age-related and damaged by a lot of service life. But even now with the new saddles the brakes still block the rear and I have a very hard brake pedal. What else could it be? Is it then the parking brake that is strangely closed? But pedal and train feel good. Mfg Dominik

  • W123 300 TDT from 1983 – what is your opinion?

Hello dear forum! I’m new here and would need your opinion on the following topic: on the search for a ‘new’ car I was offered by a colleague a W123 TDT year 1983. I’ve only driven older cars (2CV, Golf1 Cabrio, Beetle Cabrio 1303) but never a Mercedes before, so I don’t know so much about these and would be madly pleased about advice!! More details about the Mercedes I get the days, but I mean that he has just over 300,000 km on it. I would drive him about 6,000 km a year. What is your opinion about a turbo diesel, is it more susceptible or not as long-lived/robust like other engines? What is your opinion about the number of kilometres? The coach should be in a perfect condition, but the number of kilometres somehow disinsures me a bit… About tips and advice I would be very happy!

  • Newbie with question

Hello together, I have been the owner of a 240D from 1980 and would have a question about a severed cable or / hose. This is sitting at the engine at the bottom right if you are standing in front of it. Thanks & Greetings

  • TV and movie “Stars”

And I would like to open a seemingly strange thread with this old-fashioned greeting and the completely unclear theme of the title (film stars). “Stars” is of course not meant by any human movie greats….??? …And now, you already know, it is meant by the true “stars” in partly irrelevant films. MERCEDES- VEHICLES IN THE FILM AND TV STORY could have been called the title. I have now already introduced some of them for such cinematic Mercedes models. I have already introduced some of them, the mountain doctor car and the “For heaven’s sake” car. But there are still so many other star cars, which had been placed in a big appearance in the film history. As a further example from a completely “peinliche” home clamotte from the 1950s, but with a “meeting of the third kind” yet , what automobiles are involved. There were 220S Ponton convertible, a Porsche 956 Coupe and a BMW 504 (?) just hang it off with a valve.

  • OM615 1980Bj, 200D is tired, some questions

Hello dear W123 fans and helpers have now also switched from a W210/W124 to a W123. Currently I have a 200D with 393,000KM on the clock. Unfortunately, the otherwise reliable vehicle is no longer reliable. At the moment he starts very badly (only with full battery) when he slow organt I can get me wound organs until the doctor comes. With full battery when he turns faster he usually comes quite fast. When he is on then he runs first unround and wants to go out immediately. To accept gas he does quite badly, after half a minute the engine then runs round. But he does not do any pains with it. Further problem, if he then runs times, the tank must not be under half, or quarter full. Otherwise with full load e.g. he and the engine does not pull more, as if someone would pull the handbrake at once. If the tank is half full or above, the problem is gone. So I am currently tormented over. Have the tank sieve in suspicion, and diesel filter, can confirm it or something else.

  • W123 as everyday car / wheel search

Hello! As a forum newcomer I would like to introduce myself first. I am 30 years old, come from the Lower Rhine and recently bought me a W123 200d and sold my comparatively boring Passat 2.0tdi. My 123er should serve me as a everyday car, even as a long-distance vehicle. He should do his services for me all year round. Only with snow or salt on the road he is allowed to rest. I let myself be told by the “old people” that there is no more solid engine and that he should be good for long distances even after more than thirty years. This purchase has moved me to join you. Maybe I can also attach my dangerous half-knowledge in one place or another. As a counterpart to my Benz I drive a Kawasaki Ninja Zx6r. If I violate any form of forum rules, you may forgive me – I am a forum girl. My Benz is by the way in the original state and should remain as far as possible. Only one set of old and suitable alufelgens (z.b. BBS, Rhyme, Rhyme, etc.) would like to fly around.

  • 230CE Coupé – What do you think?

Good morning. I would like to look at the days – from the first glance – a semi-maintained 230CE coupé from 1984 (fabric seats, automatic). The car has its 160,000km on the speedo, which should also match with the checkbook. The whole history should be understandable. However, the doors, threshold and the area around the sliding roof worry me a bit. So I just attached the “problems” and would ask for your opinion. 9,000 EUR for the car I feel a bit too ambitious. But maybe I also have a wrong assessment of the market value. Would I be pleased about your comments and comments.
