  • New presentation of my 4th Gen Chevrolet Camaro Z 28

Hello Together, Now I have finally fulfilled my dream of Camaro Z28 after having driven the 3.8 V6 for 5 years. The V6 was definitely also a super engine, I could never complain, but never fulfilled me 100%. For a while the thought has not let me go to improve me by 2 cylinders A week ago it was time… my V8 is standing on the farm It is a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Targa LS1 5.7 310 HP. Several pictures still follow. Roe Daniel

  • Ending costs for the maintenance of a US car

Hello, there are numerous topics about how much you have to pay when you import a car from abroad, especially from the USA. Since I find nothing right at maintenance costs, I ask here. I have been dreaming about my own Ford Crown Victoria for a long time. I can save on shipping costs if I buy something from one of the entire US military bases in Germany and therefore only have to pay import costs. A civilian police version, which I want to have, I can do it but l In any case… import costs are known. But how about the maintenance? You pay taxes and insurance fees during registration. In addition, you have to refuel and regularly for inspection. Maybe buy spare parts. Can someone tell me, maybe even the owner of a Ford Crown Victorias Bj 1997-2011, how much money you spend on the car on average per month and whether you often have to import spare parts during maintenance or the resulting shipping costs. Is the price difference enormous or acceptable? In a few weeks my training is finished and I would like to start with the start of my professional life immediately, so that I can buy the car soon at last. Of course as a second car. But then the car should not become a price hell.

  • Problems with new purchase Mustang II Mach 1 V6 Year of manufacture 1977

Hello, I bought a new “toy” today. Unfortunately there is a problem with the new Holley carburetor. In the stand it runs completely unevenly. When it starts it runs nicely round but breaks in, so that I have to keep it running with the gas. The seller did not connect the vacuum hoses properly again. It must have to do with the cold start of the carburetor and the early ignition at the start. Now good advice is expensive. Maybe one of you has an Ansc Hlusplan. At the front of the engine are 2 valves with 3 outputs each. (connected to the water keislauf) On the side of the air filter box a white and a blue plastic part with 2 connections each and at the bottom of the air filter box a metal valve with 2 outputs. On the left side in the engine room a metal can (as large as a Coladose) with 2 outputs and of course on the new carburettor a lot of connection possibilities. already many thanks in advance.

  • Is Cuba’s old-timer going to die soon?

As can be read in various media, e.g. herehttp://www.autozeitung.de/…/…-repeated-oldtimer-us-classics?…http://www.gmx.net/…/kuba-nacht-beruehmten-oldtimer-havanna-30455036 allows Cuba to import new vehicles soon, with fear that due to this the US-oldtimer will disappear from Cuba’s street image. I’m curious if Cuba may soon allow the export of its US-oldtimer. Never been to Cuba, but I suspect, with the originalit What do you think? If it were allowed, would you be able to import Cuba?

  • Cadillac Seville 1999 Cylinder head gasket?

Hello, I’m afraid with my Cadillac Seville STS BJ1999? (EZ 2000) the cylinder head gasket is over, or it suffers from the problem with the (on)dissolving threads. It has already run hot for me in the summer with slight stress, could often only be held with air conditioning and heating on full pulley in the normal range. Since it runs on change marks and I also have other more or less running cars, he stopped at the battery maintenance charger for the first time. But then I want to do the repair. I already convinced my master mechanic to expand the engine with my support so that we can replace the cylinder head seal and also install thread inserts for the new cylinder head screws. At spare parts I have from Fel-Pro a cylinder head seal kit, in addition the new cylinder head screws as well as the water pump and the water pump key as well as a belt drive kit from Dayco (main drive and water pump) at home. What else do you need to order spare parts and exchange them at the same time? Does someone have a guide on how to do the best thing? Which special tool is still needed? Who has already done this repair and has the thread repair kit about that they might be able to borrow or sell me? mfg, puxi

  • Get Oldi engine from USA – customs, taxes, tricks, tricks?

Hi all, I’ve been looking around a little bit but somehow only found very old threads on similar topics – therefore the question again if it’s not new. If I import a (rebuilt) engine for a vintage car from the USA, where are there currently customs and tax? Are there perhaps similar constructs as there were for vintage cars (or are there?), that one pays lower taxes for a few Dutch ports because old cars? Or are it just the usual 4.5 + 1 9 percent? Are there any other relevant tricks and tricks? Shipping I would do via one of the relevant logisticians, for tips I am always open. I am currently in a few thought games and the current object of desire is near Seattle. Thanks! M

  • The new Corvette C7, the measure of all things among the sports cars !

Hello together, I find the development of the Corvette in recent years more than remarkable, it slipped every year closer to the German and other ”Premium” sports car manufacturers like Porsche, AMG and co. And with the new C7 it now seems to be validly equivalent if not even better than most other sports cars in its class. Where one listens to praise songs everywhere to the new Corvette and that at half price. That poses for me always the question where right-hander does Porsche have its 30,000, 40,000, 50,000 euros more for an equivalent or even worse sports car in terms of performance? I don’t think that any processing from the interior can be so good to justify this price. I wanted to know from you how you see it and how your opinion on the subject is, or how you estimate the new C7 ? Here, for example, the comparison in the new SPORT AUTO : ”Corvette beats Porsche and AMG !http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/…/…rt-auto-0 9-2015-9909685.html Greetings FirebirdV6er

  • Tire Ascona B and ATS star 7Jx13 H2 ET20 type 7036

Hello! I am looking for new tyres. At the moment I still have 205/60 R13 (too old!) on my Ascona B (freshly bought). If I understand the ATS parts report correctly, should I not drive it without broadening??? (“A sufficient coverage of the tyre treads on axle 1 is to be produced by mounting parts or other suitable measures.” No idea why the TÜV did not object to this??? Now to the point, I would like to now with all year round tyres Since the Ascona can be very difficult to rank, I have considered whether it does not also do narrow tires and look good. Can someone recommend me a size? Or do other wheel/tire combinations look stupid? I also play with the thought of a 4cm lowering but without new shock absorbers, because it is already hard enough for me. But supposed to work. Gruss, Bob

  • Is it worth it?

Hello I don’t know if this belongs here but I’ll try it! So 2 weeks ago I bought an old farmhouse, when searching in the old barn the shock!! behind a tractor was an old cadet GTE thought first I don’t really see because I had sold mine only 2 years ago. Now my question is if a restoration is worth it is from 1979 rust he has what I have seen so far only strobe he covered with straw. I want him as he stands there not without Since he loudly had the previous owner whom I approached a few days ago for almost 30 years, the man had driven him only briefly and had to give up everything because of illness. According to tacho the just 6423km should have driven My problem is that he does not let himself be pushed by hand at least!!He has to build out there because of barns, garage I have yes but if it is so good to pull out with the train machine I don’t know. What do I have to do with the car everything we So I can even start it without damaging anything?

  • Cooler frost protection Ford F350 7.3 IDI & SCAs (wg. cavitation) ?

Hello. My name is Christian and this is my first question here 🙂 Drive since last year summer now among other things a 1988 Ford F350 with the 7.3 IDI V8 Diesel. It is well known that these engines have problems with “cavitation” on the cylinder sockets, since it is only a drilled 6.9 he block (thereby the walls are “very thin”. I have to change soon, but also really all liquids, so that i c h can start with my maintenance intervals at so to speak 0. CH me the question: Which cooler frost protection should I use? Have already informed me in various American forums, there the opinions differ, but the majority speak of “traditional green -heavy duty diesel- cooler frost protection silicate-free” + SCAs, i.e. Fleetguard DCA-4 or Ford VC 8 + test strips, to check the SCA concentration regularly. Where do I get this here in Germany? Have been looking for a few hours now, but find only silicium kathaltiges green coolant and of the DCA-4 no trace …. According to Ford shop manual an ESE-M97B44-A coolant should be filled. Do you think Ford Germany has VC 8 ready?
