  • Mercedes M 102.980 Motor tightening torques

Good day dear community, I hope someone can help me here, I have to repair the engine of my Mercedes Benz 230Ce W123/C123 with the M102.980 and would need the torques for: the crankshaft bearings/main bearing screws, the pleu bearing cover screws, the cylinder head screws the chain tensioner and the camshaft bearing screws/kipple lever bridge. Does anyone know if the screws are also applicable here if the screws are in a certain length range that they are again used I hope someone can help me further here and thank you very much in advance! Sincerely Patrick

  • Turn signal lever does not snap

Good morning, with a 207D (T1, Bremer Transporter) from 1979, the combination lever usually does not stop when you flash to the right, to the left is possible without any problems. It seems to be worn out, but I could not open the combination lever yet. Unfortunately, there is no replacement, because I have the old version with integrated lever for the horn, which is not needed anywhere. If someone has a tip to repair the old lever or someone knows where I can get another one. nnt? Greetings and thanks Stefan

  • What kind of oil and how best to conserve the engine?

Hi Leutz, have 2 questions for the motor specialists among you: 1.What do you recommend for oil with a new engine: BB with aluminium heads, compaction 9,6:1 ? I’ve always poured in normal 10 W 40 with my 396er and wanted to ask now if I should treat the new from the beginning something better 2. How do I best preserve an engine ? Thanks already greeting Stephan

  • Overtaking or swapping engine

I’m thinking about having the 305 ci (140hp RPO=LG4 with 165tkm) completely overhauled and “optimized” at the same time (spin, cam, header possibly carburetor?) control unit/cat is not available thanks to export version or a “turn key-ready-crate engine” with 350ci from GM-Performance (290/330HP?), which would be more likely to be offered or is this just too naive again? maybe this could be the case. THM250C is also overtaken (reinforced?) because it’s a bit “moist” *g* OR just leave it like that and maybe only a few headers on it? P.S.: didn’t want to post into the Buick motor thread, since actually other story

  • New exhaust system! More power ?

Hi, I want to install a new exhaust system from Magnaflow or Flowmaster at my 72ger Oldsmobile 442 (455cui). I’m thinking if I’m not installing new fan manifolds right away, because that’s supposed to bring even more power. . . My questions: 1. How much more power would such an exhaust system bring and how much more with fan manifolds? (approximately) 2. Will the car with the exhaust system and fan manifolds not be too loud? (…not that the police are holding me at every intersection? t) 3. How about the registration of AMI-parts with vintage cars? 4.How good or bad is that for the engine? 5. What experiences have you had…?

  • US imports

I know that this has been done a dozen times. BUT: can someone tell me where to find it (I’m too stupid) I’m only interested in customs clearance or VAT. That’s probably not true, that I have to pay a total of 26% customs and VAT for my Lincoln 1956 (thanks to Ebay), right? Is urgent!!!

  • Question about US lighting

Hello dear US-Car Cumunity! I have a few questions about my escort and its lighting at the front… : I was already asked when I introduced myself here (Sig. below) the question whether the escort I drive does not have interval blinker. Now I haven’t bothered about it for a long time until I was in the USA this year and could see a few escorts. There are however 2 model versions, once mine, with the white “backward driving lights” seperately under the Bre The front lights and then the facelift (from model 99 or so…) where the white tail lights are integrated into the brake lights. Example picture Now I saw the facelift in the USA and the one flashed with the “inside flasher” and the “outside flasher” at the same time. Small explanation at the picture Then I saw the old model (unfortunately only from behind and then the side turning!) and this one flashed as I looked in alternating front and back. If you see a car from the side, b so I think that’s a good hint that he probably has the interval flasher… There are also just zero videos or info that I could find so far… So now to the questions So 1. : Is an interval flasher allowed in Germany at all? 2.: Can a loan in terms of electronics / cabling easily change something? With my car you can see well where cables have been cut and by such blue insulation plastics ile (sry knows the name grad net) has been relegated. It’s all relatively free. Example picture 3.: I was hoping to leave the standlight as it is now and only activate the blinker function in my “outside flasher”. Because I would have a bad feeling driving around with the nevertheless very conspicuous standlight so. It’s just enough for me outside, as it is now. Not that I get problems/ears with clearly bright orange standlights… What does i say? Is it easier than it looks, or should I just leave it?! I thank you for every comment / tip! Greeting from the TX!
