Ford LTD Landau
Hey! don’t really find a rubric here, where I could ask for my Ford.. therefore just the attempt here: I drive a 77 Ford LTD Landau, 5.2 L V8, 325 HP… Just 8 days ago bought. and now the small “American” problems already started Are there (suffering-)-shafts comrades, who also drive a car of the LTD Riege? A manual was unfortunately not included in the purchase price, so it is already difficult to look up the small things for a short time. Prob lem No. 1: Starting process very difficult, after about 20 seconds starter operation it starts on the 2nd or 3rd attempt (of course NOT been like this during the test drive). Therefore the simple question: does the part nen Choke somewhere? So far for the first time, you would do me a huge favor if I could get an email address, HP or something like that. many thanks and gruss 1200mexblack

Is there anyone here with the GM 4L80-E? Problems with the oil filling quantity.
Hello together, does someone with the above-mentioned transmission know each other? Have such a device installed in a foreign factory and problems to fill the correct quantity of oil or to measure. It started with an oil change with a (self-proclaimed) expert, however, because of the unexpectedly bad access to the oil filter, the same was not exchanged. Therefore, the factory-specified 13 liters of transmission oil could not be filled in, but one felt itself over the track This was obviously not successful, because subsequent switching operations under heavy load were only possible with great delay during the switching process, moreover the car smelled hot-dried for transmission oil. I then measured the oil level again and came to the realization that too much was filled in, the measuring rod was wetted beyond the scale. Furthermore, I noticed when driving that I did not lock the 3rd gear via the manual switching lane. nd, when I set the selector lever to ‘2’, was nevertheless switched to the 3rd gear. I then sucked oil and from then on the switching operations under load were better, the car also no longer smelled like transmission oil, in cold condition I could also successfully lock the 3rd gear via the selector lever, but from a certain operating temperature it was switched back to the 3rd. I have now already measured the oil level 100 times (each with warm oil with previous through scarf). The values shown on the ‘hot’ and on the ‘cold’ side of the measuring rod are sometimes very different and usually only the lower part of the scale is clearly wetted with oil (at the current level about one third), but a thin oil film usually extends beyond the upper end of the scale. So I ask myself, is there still too much in it or rather too little? Does the non-blocking of the upper driving stages with the oil sta hang with the nd together or is this maybe a completely different construction site? Thanks and greetings Olli

383 cui Stroker
Hello everybody, I have a question about 383cui Stroker. I always thought, such an engine is a 350 with the crankshaft from the 400s. But finally I read about “destroken”. This should be a 400cui block with the crankshaft from the 350s and also this should be a 383?! Can this really be?! And what more to recommend/better? Greetings Camaro

6.2 D Pick Up Purchase advice
Moin ihr V8er…am new here and wants to try your expert knowledge right away 🙂 Got an eye on a 6.2 liter diesel GMC Bj. 87 with replacement engine (156 hp) with allegedly only 20000 KM on it. The model is probably identical to the K30. Now the questions: Does a K30 need much more fuel than a C-model (2WD) even if you shut off the all-wheel? Because the 2wd sellers always advertise with it… The steering is “a bit” turned out, I hear that rather expensive!? Is it supposed to drive Vmax 150 km/h despite only 3-speed transmission, sounds like he just kicked it… I think the speed is not more than 120 cruising speed. Oh yes, should cost 5500, sounds fair after all? Thanks already… Greetings Klaus

6.2 Diesel does not start!
Hello first of all, I am 42 years old and come from the surroundings Stuttgart. I am a truck driver by profession. Drive a GMC R3500 BJ 1991 with a 6.2 Detroit diesel and a 4L80E transmission. Have the following problem and I hope you can help me. He suddenly didn’t want to jump any more. I then checked all the glow plugs, power supply of the pre-glow system, all as far as Ok. Then I checked whether the fuel pump is pumping and I noticed that this is defective. Now he demands diesel into the injection pump but no diesel comes to the injection nozzles! I opened all the pipes and torpedoed them. There are only drops. Did the injection pump open housing and the chamber is full of diesel. I also tested the relay immediately and it opens and closes as soon as 12 V. What can this be? Bzw how much diesel comes from the injection pump to the injection nozzles? Does it have to flow or drip there? Ic h hope you can help me there and would be really grateful. Greetings

US-Car Stammtisch in 59368 Werne
The whole thing was probably OT in the Charger Thread. For this we have even more space and the possibility to talk about everything, make suggestions and organize. I would be happy if we could get a regular table out of which a club/association arises. ( Maybe I finally get the 07. ) I think it is always good if people with the same hobby organize themselves to exchange experiences or help with the e-part procurement. D the fun of the common hobby should be at the top of the list. The question is only how or what do we do with it? Certainly mouth to mouth propaganda is the best possibility. Since I know the other Americans in Werne but only from the view, it probably needs a different approach. (e.g. note behind the windshield, etc.) As location I propose as already mentioned the MC Donalds at the car yard, because to the Amimetnen Burgerschuffen not missing In addition, we have plenty of parking facilities there and due to the fact that it is located on the feeder, the best conditions of the journey are created at the same time. (You can quickly get there via the motorway and find it is also quite easy. ) Due to the show effect it is also possible to negotiate special conditions with the operator, so that we all have something of it.
