  • Check engine lights up.

    Hello Together, I have a FourFour 0.9 with 90hp with 66000 km. The following problem is current. — first the motor lamp sporadically lit up. Then I switched spark plugs and Lufi. Then a time well 7nd lamp remained out. — now after a full gas acceleration the lamp lights permanently and in the upper area lacks power. I have no smoke back and otherwise the engine runs round. Never changed the fuel filter. Can it be the filter or does the turbo have a way? Cruise control is no longer possible. The driving method is normal, rather retired and mostly 20-40 km. No heating in the upper speed range. For conjectures or aids I would be grateful.

  • Smart forfour Bj2017 Central locking problem

    Hello, I have a problem with my wife’s car, and he does the following : when I open the central lock with the key, this problem goes without problem when I get out of the car again and try to close the car Unfortunately, the connection and unlocking does not work anymore or only sporadically. There is always a clapping but no locking. I noticed now that the key also partly reacts very sensitively even if I just stroke over it, he tries to unlock or lock what only succeeds once in a while. Sometimes the key only works when I move it or shake it, start it and drive it easily. Have already checked all doors, switch key battery, disconnected vehicle battery from time to time.   • 453: Are there also satisfied drivers of the new smart?

    Hello together, in the forum you can get the impression that the new smart is completely burdened with problems. I don’t want to deny them or talk nicely, but I wonder if some are satisfied? By this I don’t mean whether the car is perfect, but whether it has met the expectations or if you would buy the 453 again. I’m curious who is “outet”. After all, it is always easier (and unfortunately also usual) to practise criticism instead of praise??. Gruss andi2003???

  • Noise / steering problems smart 453 BJ 2016

    Hello am a Smart Frischling since 02/16. Smart Fortwo 90 ps gear shift Current km Stand 5300 was new registration was satisfied until May and then the problems started with the steering wheel. Would have already been towed and brought to a dealer…. who could or wanted to find nothing (was Friday afternoon) in Niederbayern Bin then back home with “this steering”! Then I am here on site to a dealer…. He built in new crossbars. Did not bring this! the car 1 day. You don’t find anything. It seemed really stupid to me. Car rides today the whole day and the steering is crawling more and more. I talked to the office today and drive tomorrow to Landsberger Str. Bin.     Hello, We are looking for a successor for the city for our 450 Smart. Ours suffers considerably from oil consumption, which is known in this series. Nevertheless, we would like to stay with Smart and think of a 453. Do the engines of this series have similar problems – susceptibility to engine damage etc.? What do I have to pay attention to?

  • Smart 452 does not start

    Hello Smart community. I bought a Smart 452 Roadster coupé from 3 years ago. He had already 260,000 km on the Tacho. Sporadic he has problems starting. If he jumps, also by towing, he works a few weeks without murmuring. Several times I hoped to have found the error finally: – new starter, since the error often occurred with warm engine – the fuse 1 with 25 amps, cleaned and plugged in again – the mass contact at the gearbox cleaned and re-screwed – the mass tape in the engine compartment replaced – a new battery installed. The error occurs less often since the new starter. However, it is not gone. After the starter is started you hear the petrol pump and the magnetic switch in the starter is not controlled for at least 3 minutes. At some point the control unit then gives up. Currently I have lowered the engine and now all possibilities no more ideas.

  • Smart 451er CDI exhaust gas recirculation systems AGR

    Moin from Hamburg, I have a Smart fortwo 451 CDI with 45 hp (the car has now 119,000 KM on the hump). Unfortunately I found the following problem last week, the car doesn’t pull properly (going into the emergency run) and then the engine control light already went on, Adac called error read out: P2355 Exhaust gas recirculation systems I had the AGR valve and the corresponding part removed and cleaned, all the faults etc removed looked like new. Motor started and the engine light went off by itself. When the parts opened, I noticed that the corrections were not completely dry but rather a little damp??? Maybe the AGR KÜHLER? The car only drives 100KM/h and has less power. After a few kilometers I noticed that the engine went back into the emergency run, i.e. only until the second gear and then I had to switch up the engine light by itself. After 70 KM the engine lamp already hit again with the same error: exhaust recirculation systems.

  • Smart 451 he rusted 84 HP flex tube – Several workshops want to replace whole exhaust?!

    Moin Moin, my little ball started listening like an AMG 2 days ago. After a short check I saw that something was wrong with the exhaust. He hung something. According to the workshop (was also shown to me) the flex tube is rusted by and no longer holds. Flex tubes for Smarts 451 are hardly/no longer available. Several workshops (tire helmet, Atu, Mercedes) therefore want to replace the exhaust completely because they can not get to any. Welding is not possible. Cost point for the new exhaust: 580€ NETTO. + Installation we end up there (depending on the workshop) about 900-120€. If the time value of approx. 4.000-5000 € would not be an economic total damage. Corner data: KM Stand 93,000 Year 2011 PS 84 Do you have a cheaper idea or don’t come around to have my whole exhaust replaced? I looked online myself, there is no available flex tube for my Smart 451 84 Ps Coupe. Greetings

  • Android Radio and Subwoofer

    Hello, I had exchanged my original radio for an Android radio. Everything is running very well as far as possible. In order to amplify the bass, I bought the original subwoofer for under the driver’s seat. Built-in and connected with the cable installed for it. I wanted to test it with full anticipation and nothing happened. Does there have to be any additional changes on the radio? In most reports it says yes, connect and done!
