Good evening, can you recommend me a reliable workshop for my 2005 Smart Fortwo 0.7 Coupe? As far as possible in the center or south of Hamburg. I bought the car in December and had an inspection done in a Vergölst workshop. But I don’t think this workshop can play out your strengths with a Smart. On the one hand (if it doesn’t cost a fortune) the right side window is to be replaced (water… ) and on the other hand there are probably repairs on various parts of chassis and engine suspension. The occasional flapping and rumbling from the floor of the vehicle is certainly not a series…. Thank you and greeting Jens

Servus Servus gentlemen have not been here for a few years, but NOW the following do it short and flush. Have an optically very nice Smart 451 Bj 2007 with 71 hp. I got a Brabus engine with 98hp 3 days ago and would like to install it soon. On the engine everything is included in the wire harness, transmission drive shafts. I know that I have the complete central unit with ignition lock, key stuer device etc but my question WHAT BREAK I NEVER? Do all hoses fit? What else do I have to b Dearest thanks already TONI

Hello together, according to the service booklet, I want to change the V-belt now, because the MB/Smart workshop is too expensive for me I would like to do it myself. In the net you can’t find so much information or I’m looking wrong. I just assume that the V-belt is stretched with the alternator like with many cars, or is that different with the MHD. I come out with normal tools, gun, wrench ect. As far as I have found it, car jack up, right R is that right? From VW I know an online shop that sells original spare parts (better than in the car dealership) is there also a good online shop for the smart? Thank you and greeting

Dear Founds, I’m still a fresh smart fan, so I still don’t have the structure and function of each component on the screen. I need your expert advice. For a few weeks I’ve always had an oil drop under the gearbox after rides. At first I thought it was a leak on the gearbox, but after a motor oil change, with change of the oil pan, I see that the draining oil is unconsumed. If the ball is not moved, then drips si e also not. Which motor oil bearing components are the above the arrow, which are not visible without engine lowering? I have colored the oily areas yellow. (The lower picture is not the original, just a view of the lower gear side). Would I be pleased about a feedback. Gruss. Wigand

Since I can’t find a TÜV that wants to register me around the 451er around the 451er (was on the 450er at that time no problem), then I could have driven TOP all-year tires, someone has already had experience with the Maxxis AP2 All Season in 175/195? Greetings Ingo

Hello together, I had the charge air cooler changed half a year ago. Now the good one is already dripping again. My question: can the seals be that have become porous due to the frosty winter? I have had problems with the workshop many times and I am very surprised that a new charge air cooler can already be broken!!! I only ride longer distances with it. Good evening, I didn’t really find anything in the forum. That’s why I have an extra request. I’m the owner of a Smart 451 for a week. Unfortunately I don’t have a light sensor and since I’m spoiled by my other vehicles I always forget to turn off the light. 1. Question: Don’t it really have to beep when I leave the light on and open the door? The interior lighting doesn’t work when I open the door, it can just be the door contact switch defective. If so, where can I find it? 2.Question: Is it not possible to activate this Scandinavian light control somehow? Even without going to SC? Thank you for your help. Greetings

Hi, for the second time the Simmerrings directly on the gearbox (both drive axles) leaks.Vehicle is only 3 months old.The first time after 1 month….was repaired on warranty in the Smart Center. (Smart technician could not explain this?) (because new vehicle?) Now again….and also again, small oil stains on the patch. Have already the new appointment in the Smart Center. (guarantee) Now my question to you: does anyone have this problem with the new car or at all d hesrelated times had problems?? LG Smart-ok

Hello too, yes I know this problem treatment already exists – but mostly older. Have a 451 EZ3/2009 – year 02/2009 approx. 34Tkm (women’s city car). The problem with the brake switch we already had, THAT’s not it! Sometimes – quite often the reverse turn does not go in. It only helps ignition off, 5Sek wait, ignition – goes in. Mostly. Last I had to push it out of the parking gap so that it can drive forward. That’s not funny for a woman and can possibly a I said something about big clutch repair! I’ve already read that there is sometimes a culant control for this “serial error”. What prerequisites must be met? Warranty+extension are of course over. How are the experiences regarding cost frames of such repairs. Here in the country there are hardly any free workshops that dare to do so, except Smart (MB) itself. Thank you for the answer!

HI, so my problem is I have Original Alu Smart rims on it but only the 3.5J rims with 135/70/15 70 mature But in my car seemed 145/65/15 72 Do I have to complain to my used car dealer now ? Or does it matter to the TÜV and the police ?? or do I have to drag some kind of ABE with me ?? if yes where do I get the ?? Because my winter tires will probably only be from Günden 135/70/15 !!!
