  • Smart just goes out.

Hello, dear, a friend of mine is driving a Smart fortwo 0.6i Turbo (MC01) Coupe Bj 2001 No workshop could help her further without making any assumptions ….maybe YOU have an idea. She described the following problem: Smartie starts to make problems as soon as the temperature indicator shows 3 eggs. He hops briefly … then goes out. If you try to start it then the engine either does not start, or if it starts you can’t turn on a gear. As soon as it is cooled down again it starts again. Error message which it shows… in the middle where the gears are displayed 3 strokes between each other. Also on the right bottom a yellow indicator that does not run out anymore. Noise when I turn it on (if it is possible) is a glimmering or knocking …. I did not have any other abnormalities, otherwise he drove without problems. I would be very grateful about your help.

  • Automatic switches cold late up

Hi guys, since it gets cold again outside, the gearbox only switches into the second gear when I get to the 35km/h. This is very annoying and the wear is also reinforced because the speed is very high just when the engine is cold. I always switch up by hand. Is this somehow harmful or can something else happen? The cat should get warm quickly with the method with the high speed, but does it really take much longer if I hold the speeds down? the 451 Bj. 2011 would be very grateful to you

  • Smart 450 cooling temperature indicator spins or heating without function

Hello members, I have been having the following problem with the Smart for 2 weeks. – The engine control light is constantly running – The coolant temperature indicator rises to 120 degrees after approx. 3-5km driving at the current temperatures. – At the same time, the heating is without function. As soon as the temperature rises to 120 degrees, the signal flashes and the Smart runs worse. Shortly afterwards the display drops to 60 degrees and the heating starts to work. From this moment the temperature rises to 90 and stays According to a friend who owns a workshop, the following sensor is defective. “Refrigerant temperature sensor” In addition, I have an appointment with Mercedes on Wednesday to read out the error range. Do these symptoms (motor control light + funny heating or cooling behaviour) have to do with it? What could the problem be? Facts about the car Kilometer: 115tkm Motor: petrol with 40 kW daily driving distance: 25 km (motorway) Greeting

  • Newbie questions

Hello. Come from the E36 forum and have a clue about SMART zero. That’s why I would have asked a few Newbie questions about the topic: “Procurement of a used Smart”. So, I’ve already read a little bit here in the SMART forum. I came across that the small engines probably didn’t convince by long mileage. Furthermore, you could read that there was probably a “Facelift” model from any year of construction. So what should you pay attention to when buying a “ForTwo”? Diesel or gasoline? Automatic od How high should the max KM number be? When was the “Facelift” built and is it adviceable to buy it? Would be nice if I could get some helpful tips.

  • smart engine now also goes off while driving

Hello, first the engine went off only in the stand, but now also during the ride. The ignition remained on. Shown in the display the 0. After repeated futile attempt to start the engine, the smart is now in the workshop. Reading out the error did not bring any definite result. A new petrol pump also did not make it healthy again. Now it will probably be treated in the smart center, but I would like to make a little smart before, what could come up to me there. The j Last workshop taps on the regulator for the fuel injection (or similar). I would be grateful for advice and an explanation. Dear Greetings Christin smart, 10 years old, 90,000 running
