Hello, I want to make myself clear here whether someone has the same problem (only found it once here in the forum). I have the new Smart (model year 2010) for three weeks and have now about 750km down. First two weeks everything ran perfectly, after that however, the car began to vibrate more and more when it is warm. Listens or fills up then, as if I was speeding up all the time low-touring (with short driving time only easy to take, but always gets stronger). If he stood overnight, however, sounds the first 5 min. drive everything as I picked him up. Did now bring him to Smart and get the statement, that would be normal with this model and would come from the gearbox. That would be so with everyone. (???) So, now to all, who also have the 84ps Smart, you really have this problem and do not bother you at all??? Especially when collecting everything perfectly ran???????

Smart big holiday 6000 km year 2002 181000 km run
Hello I just wanted to share my friends with someone full of pride So I drive a Smart CDi Bj 2002 with 182000 km with a climate total mileage and I decided 2 weeks ago to go to Kosovo on holiday. That’s from Recklinghausen about 2350 km Through Croatia not Serbia with 2 full packed suitcases cooler box and I 92 kg and my wife. I really was afraid and bamme if the little one gets it. When I told my family and my friends about it they laughed at me and have advised to drive away with the car the Smart is not a real car etc. … But I wanted to prove to the people and myself that my Smarti can pack it and have missed an oil change and filter change and drove it. I’m pretty sure that I have overloaded the smarti and am out of danger. When we were behind Frankfurt and the highway became steeper and the small only 90kmh drove now the temperature indicator rose to 100 degrees so 4 eggs full panic thought ok has the 400 km and now is over. But I’m proud of being back with the Kosovo and now in Kosovo with no way back to Kosovo and now in Kosovo and with no way to return to Montenegro with the little time and with me now, I was going back

LiMa expansion, with engine & gearbox?
Hallölle the following problem with our family-smarti (diesel, BJ 2000, 30kw, ~800ccm, cdi): after four days of standing (now in autumn) he did not jump any more and ordered very unevenly. we added a smart-bastler and he said that the light engine was fixed. we had that already about a year ago and it was made accessible again (stock renewed). however, this time he says that the lima has to be replaced. no renewal of the coal, no replacement-lima. and for the renewal of the lima have to be removed motor and gears… what do you think? is it true that you have to expand the engine and gears? and do you have an idea what a lima costs? many thanks already

Loss of power in curves – Cause Trust plus?
Hello, I noticed yesterday: During sharp cornering in my 2001 cdi I have power loss. But the yellow lamp from the Trust plus does not glow yet. Can this still be on the Trust plus, or is there any known defect? With right curves the engine feels rougher for me as well. Thanks for any answers and greetings!

Smart Fortwo CDI Cost/purchase advice
Hello, my mother has decided to make a driver’s license, but with an automatic vehicle. We were at the traffic training area and it works pretty well, better than I expected, although she is a little older. Soon she is finished and we want to buy a smart car directly, maybe. I have been busy with various used cars, but there is almost no used car, which is as cheap as a smart and above all maintenance arm! I am interested in both gasoline and diesel models. Most used cars, which I have chosen and which should be cheap, often have higher costs than the smart, speak spare parts, timing belts etc. The smart has simply fewer components and is of course from Mercedes. So I am a test driver and must say that I find the car not so bad at all. The smart from my neighbor has now run 300,000 km and is still relatively good, other cars would fail there long. Question to you, is the smart CDI really robust and then he drives many KM? I am a screwer and would like to buy a cheap ticket himself. What do you pay for a CDI for a lot of fuel?

Engine suddenly runs very unevenly
Hello, when I started my Smart Forfour 1.3 today, the whole car was very busy. The speedometer varied greatly between 400-800 revolutions. The engine wobbled very strongly and had hardly any gas consumption. I then started it again and it ran again as usual. However, the engine control lamp was shining and I drove to the workshop where a fault diagnosis was made. Mistake: engine control unit! The mechanic has made the car several times on and off. Sometimes the engine had this unround run, sometimes it ran normal. So, according to the workshop, the engine control unit CAN be over, which is not exactly cheap What should I do now? Can you buy the part used as well?

Purchase advice Smart ForFour 1.3 95 HP
Hello dear Smart community, I am looking for a car (2nd car) for my wife. So we visited several car dealerships today to determine which vehicle my wife likes. We were not sure which manufacturer or which model fits my wife. At the end we ended up with a Mercedes dealer who also had some smart cars. Among other things, a ForFour. My wife was not enthusiastic about Smart at first. However, when we looked at the ForFour and sat down for the test (sampling didn’t go, was quite late) she was quite impressed by the car. Now my question(s): What do I have to pay attention to when buying such a car? And what about Alufelgen/winter tires? Is there only special or do I get something like that on the normal “tuning market”? I hope you can help a total smart layman a little bit further. Thank you already in advance!!!

Smart 451 starter
Does anyone know if the smart has other plus/minus connections to bridge the empty battery, e.g. in the front of the hood? It would be very difficult to expand everything on the passenger side to get to the battery. In addition, the powerless car has to be opened manually before. I ask this because I can’t use the car during the summer for 3 months. The battery probably won’t last that long 🙁 Thank you for your helpful answers!

Remove glued-on smart oil pan, how?
Hello together, I want to renew the old oil tank of my smart petrol engine 450 BJ2000 with a new tub with drain screw. Prima, smart on the ramp, hole drilled in, oil drained, Lima spray protection unscrewed and the 14 Torx E8 unscrewed. The tub now remains stick, as I had suspected, but it sticks bomb-proof! I tried with light up to relatively heavy hammer strokes – nothing – ; the contact holes then warmed up with hot air gun and knocked further down – nothing. As ultima ratio I put a car lifter on the front edge (located across the lid edge) and use the weight of smart (+ mine) and unscrew it. No result, the oil tank doesn’t make any murks out of it. I wanted to ask you if you have a tip on how to remove the tub. How did you manage it? I would be very grateful to you, I really don’t want to hear the smart Sc.
