  • forfour does not accept gas / indicator light burns

My smartie (forfour 1.1, 75 hp, 68tkm) is worried for the first time. It has already happened twice that he hardly reacts to gas commands after starting and only comes very hesitantly on about 2000 tours when I am idle – when I go through fully. Driving – but with restrictions. After turning off two times – then everything goes normal again. Control light burns for two days, then goes out. I haven’t read fault memory yet – inspection is up anyway. Someone has an idea or similar experience? I type motor control/electronics/turning number sensor or something like that…

  • Mature change botched

Hello, I had my winter tires mounted around the corner last week in a small free workshop. I then drove 600 m home. Today, 600 m to the expressway (Tempo 80) and then after 10 km I had a knock and ratters in the city. Had just passed a construction site and thought the noise was coming from there. But the noise remained and I kept, engine lids open and listen, at the Mhd you are suspicious. From there it did not come. Next thought, the wheels and that was it then too. The rear left wheel has already wobbled while standing. I then called the ACE (thanks to the helper) and this then the only hand-fixed bolts have been tightened properly. He also had to pull the remaining three wheels, but they were solalala.Question: can be a damage to the braking system now and next question, I should report the workshop, because nothing happened and I did not land on the control plank or the next truck, finally only prevented my protection gel (here also thanks to the master supervision).

  • which oil in 451 gasoline

Hello, the search tried but did not find the 451 petrol. So as the topic name already says, I want to know which oil comes in the Smart 42 451 year 07/08 and how much. I didn’t get smart from the Smart homepage. Is that true that you should put 0.5 liters of weninger in as smart says? If yes, why? and why should smart make false statements?

  • Water through the rear window?

A wonderful good evening… Before I get into trouble – I used the SuFu but didn’t get much smarter. I hope you can help me (again) . My little Smurf (as baptized by my wife ) doesn’t seem to be quite dense The last two days it has rained a bit harder here in Celle . When I wanted to open the trunk today I discovered water on the luggage compartment cover . When I opened the flap, maybe 2-3 more drops have fallen down . You seem to come out of the plastic of the windscreen wiper , one by chance , if that is what is known ? I bought the “jung@smart” guarantee . Does this grip in such a case ? It is a 451 Smart BJ at the end of 2008.

  • Smart won’t start, despite the new battery.

Hello together, lately I have used public transport and after about 2 months of service I wanted to start the Smart again. However, there was only click noise when starting. I assumed that the battery is all and replaced it with a new one. After that you hear the typical noise when starting the engine again, but still it doesn’t start. I am layman and don’t know me. What can be the cause? Thanks for your hints!

  • Oil variety for Smart

Greetings. Have a change of oil on my Smart ForTwo Coupe CDI, 72000KM, year 2001, 60 HP. Up to now, Mobil 1 0W40 has always been used. I had a 5l canister from France purchased cheaply, but Mobil 1 5W40, also for Turbo Diesel. Can you compare the two oils with each other, which is better, which is worse for the flicker. Drive about 350 KM a week, of which little short distances. I would be very grateful for some good advice.

  • Holiday experience with the smart

Hello together, have now my holiday trip with my 42 (450 he, cdi, 2003 BJ, 52.000 km) behind me. Were a total of 1200 km within 4 days. Again I have to find that long distance with the smart is no problem. I once travelled nonstop 420 km. I have found that the seats for a small car are really above average. I find negative the starting weakness of the diesel. Before one from the stand exceeds the 50 km/h mark it takes forever, sometimes dav Apart from the fact that I don’t want to bring it more than 2500 revolutions when starting up. As an absolutely extraordinary I have to name the consumption of the small. I didn’t exactly record it, but it would have to be 3.3 liters of diesel at 100 km. But I also drove through the Colbitzer and Magdeburg Heath at 120 km/h. The floor mat in the driver’s footroom proved to be disturbing again and again. It always slipped towards the pedalerie. The flap on the left side, on the me If my left foot rests, it never remains in its intended position. And of course it must also be mentioned that the acceptance of the other road users, as often mentioned in the forum, is not the biggest. Some people absolutely have to overtake, just because it is a “smart” driving in front of them. This is annoying to some extent, because you also notice that it is only inconsideration of the people. How does it look at you? Did you have the same experiences? What can I do against the foot mat? Greetings from Thuringia – Hanne –

  • smart fortwo Model 2010 – Changes

Does anyone have information about whether and when smart makes changes to the fortwo – facelift or small changes? e.g. all gasoline engines should be switched to EURO5 (long overdue!), cdi with closed particle filter (already known) etc.

  • No oil, engine damage, spark plugs, why?

Evening, I went to the car of my night-beavers earlier. Problem was that the spark plugs had probably already 60,000 down and there was no oil to be seen on the oil stick. So spark plugs out, 2 of them were completely gone (outside poles vebrannt), so he suddenly only ran on 2 cylinders and the other 4 still well worn. ALso 6 new spark plugs pure, oil filter changed, old oil sucked away I had no way to, so new oil refilled about 2.5 liters ;-). Is that normal, or was there really only so little oil in the engine? After that, I replenished and started oil to Max. The engine runs, but in my opinion with too little compression on the one cylinder. Is running restless and no mountain out of the way up. Can this now be due to too much oil in the engine (although only max on the bar), or is the cylinder head seal or piston ring burned and leaked due to the very low oil level? Could much I only got the car with push-on from the underground garage entrance, realz. LG
