Hello, I bought a ForTwo BJ 2004 from a Hämdöer (in September 2007). Now I switched on the air conditioner for the first time, since I never needed it before. The engine speed drops short, I think, a sign that the compressor has plugged in via the magnetic coupling. The air, which then comes out of the nozzles (of course turned on) is both at stage 1 and at stage 2 minimally cooler than the internal air (at the external temperature approx. 23 °C). You can’t talk about cold air at all. Is it normal that the greenhouse gas has already erupted after about 4 years? Does anyone have any idea what a refill costs? Do you have to do this at the smart center, or can you do it at a free workshop? Thanks Rambaldi

Do these Alu’s take care of the Smarti? (7.5×17)
Hello dear community! I usually come from the A3 range. My girlfriend has a Smart ForTwo Cabrio with steel rims since Saturday. Now should decent aluminums on it. We could get to the following quite cheap, but am not sure if they are not too big after all: DBV RE01 front 7.5×17 ET42 rear 7.5×17 ET42 hole circle 3×112 Included in delivery is an attachment set (distance discs?). The ET would then be at the front on 27 and at the back on 32. Too heavy or fits that in the Radkas If necessary, we should combine some subtle lowering springs from H&R. As an alternative we would have these rims: NIXXON Design “BALI” Front axle: 4,5×15 ET:23,5 Rear axle: 5,5×15 ET:22 These should fit easily, as an ABE is included. What do you say? Greetings! Fabe

Smart CDI exhaust at ATU for 41€ 🙂
Hello. Incredible but true ! In June advertising brochure of the ATU there is this offer -> rear silencer costs one € per PS 🙂 I sent an e-mail to my ATU branch, of course an e-mail has come back that this offer does not apply to the Smart, because with Kat etc…. blablabla I complained at the ATU headquarters in Weiden and see there got the commitment for an exhaust for my Smart. Of course a Eberspächer with KAT and ABE 🙂 I attached my bill to you and a picture of the montage. Perhaps this offer still applies to you good luck with greetings Thomas Edit by Derk: The picture pendants were removed at the request of the author.

Smart on the highway
Hello, I’ve always had ridicule and ridicule for Smart, until recently a colleague took me with him (for now), since then I’ve gone and think about buying such a vehicle myself. However, I wonder how it is on the highway. Is one taken seriously and enough power to overtake? Or is one forced to drive to the eternal right. And how is it on long distances with the comfort or with strong wind? Questions about question but maybe someone can answer it?!

Original Radio Smart 451
Hello together… I bought a Smart 451 year 2011. But would like to exchange the radio which is in it, through an original. I read on the net that was installed for this year or model the Basic Radio from the factory. Question: fits the also the Radio 9 in my Smart The Radio 9 (part number: A4518204279) is a double-DIN CD radio. And… Do you need any accessories for the AUX connection? Glove compartment? Many thanks to all already… Greetings

Popular all over – battery
My Smart 451 mhd BJ 2007 doesn’t start anymore. After ignition, all the lights light up and turn off, ECO flashes briefly and then goes off. I try to start then, click it for a short time from the direction of the fuse box, but nothing happens at all. The gears can be switched on without a running motor. Does that sound like a flat battery? This is now 12! years running smoothly? Mhd is switched off every time directly after engine start. Do I have to install an AGM battery now or would a VARTA SILVER C30 12V54Ah 54 Ah for the requirement profile? The car is moving 23 kilometers in the morning and the same distance in the evening. Or is there a better suitable battery now? Many greetings

How long does a smart motor last?
Hello smart experts, yesterday I was a little proud of a friend, but also a little thoughtful about her new, used smart. It’s a petrol engine (I’m not a smart expert, maybe there are several gasoline engines) and despite its good condition she has some concerns now, because the car has already run over 40 tkm. She has heard – after the purchase – that the life of the engines should not be so high. Since she invested a considerable part of her savings in her car, she naturally wants to drive with it for a long time. What should she do, so that she can enjoy it for a long time? (normal maintenance according to the plan is logical, there are only “special measures” asked. How long do the smart petrolers live according to experience? Of course, the behavior of the drivers depends on the experience, but there should already be experiences. Thanks already for the info re

451 Ventilation on=engine from
Hello guys…… the smart of my wife develops a curious life of her own.No matter when and no matter what weather or driving condition….It turns on the ventilation, no matter what stage and the car goes off,Eco lamp flashes, and can’t be started for about 10 minutes. If you try it in between times so after 2-3 minutes it goes sometimes no, sometimes you have to wait a few minutes longer until it goes on.As long as the ventilation stays off he rides completely without any problems. No plan what should be going on, maybe someone has advice where to look for the error????Thank you

Smart 451 – Rear shock absorber – Are the holes for parking sensors?
Hello Dear Smart Friends, I have bought my girlfriend a retrofit system for parking aid for your Smart. There are 4 parking sensors and a small box incl. speaker for the beep. The instructions say that I should drill 4 holes, but I have now looked at the Smart, and there are already 2 holes there. 1. Question: What are these holes? I removed the protective flap and they lead into the empty, can I use these for the parking sensors? The parking sensors are however slightly smaller than the holes in the rear bumper large (of diameter). 2. Do I need 4 holes for the Smart at all or are 2 enough? Nice greetings and I would be happy about help.

450/451 Tyre wear rear axle
Good day with each other I noticed that my smart has a very high tyre wear on the rear axle. This was already the case with my 450. I get a maximum of 8000 km with a set of tyres at the rear, but the front tyres still have at least 60% profile. With my Volvo with > 200 hp, I do without problems >25,000 km What is special, but the right rear tyre uses itself faster than the one on the driver’s side. (as with the 450er) At the moment the left one has about 2.2 mm of the right one is on the cover, i.e. 1.6 mm. Since I am mostly alone on the way, the left tyre should be faster down from the logic. Could it be that the “lighter” side has more slip and therefore uses itself faster? Has someone else made similar experiences? Driving profile: The work path of 20 km is mostly rural road and through 2 small villages, without Stop & Go. I drive rather relaxed and looking ahead, without big acceleration orgies etc. Grus Flachdachjogger
