Hello dear friends of the new Smartie’s (453), I advise you all from my own experience to extend the warranty after expiry of the factory warranty for 339,- (further 2 years). Well, why? I was with my Smart at MB and had the second inspection done and then had massive oil loss – the oil came from the crankshaft ventilation hole in not insignificant quantity, i.e. 35 km driven and about 1 liter of oil away. Therefore the engine looked really creepy… After the mechanics on site s o how the engineers in Stuttgart had thought for a long time how that could be, Stuttgart came with the advice around the corner that Argregat (engine) would have a capital damage and this would have to be exchanged – Mmmmh, with a mileage of original 32,500 km (!!!) a motor damage is also not bad, right? In short because I had bought the warranty extension for 339,- short run of the factory warranty, there was not only for the time of the failure a free car rental but also ch a completely NEW engine including the installation and installation… In other words, the smartie runs again and automatically is of course 2 years new warranty on the new engine. According to the advertising slogan: “My dad paid nothing for it…” Now everyone here is clear why I guess about the warranty package, right??? Does not save at the wrong end – otherwise this could be quite real TEUER !

In the operating manual it says that you can download online the latest map material (free of charge up to 3 months after purchase of the Smart). The navigation data in the new Smart are currently ancient. Here in the environment roundabouts have been finished for 3 years, which the Navi still does not know. Now I wanted to play an update. In the TomTom Smart Connect software he tells me that I have the update and 09.90 What is the current TomTom stand? On the website I see: 10.15 from August 2018 I get to it, in the Smart Connect, when I go on card material, he wants to have an activation code from me. We the included, where does it stand? Hello, I have the following problem. When I wanted to drive with my smart today and the ignition operated the starter did not work any more. I came from working with the car before that was about 1 hour ago. If I had to change the key and actually start the starter the display goes out at the speedo and the clock at the rev meter is new. I tried it several times and at different intervals. At the battery I can not drive it regularly ßig and not only short distance. This is the first time I have such problems with the car. Tomorrow, because of warranty case, call Smart that solves the problem and that I am mobile again. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any of the similar problems in the forum yet.

Hello, I have been playing for a few days with the idea of selling my 453 90 Ps Prime with almost full equipment, which I have only had for a month, and switching to the 451. Had before that a 451 diesel, which has accompanied me over 80,000 kilometers and I still own it. The new one is taken by itself Top, has leather, Navi, return camera and the strong 90 Ps engine, which also goes really well forward and is relatively economical with about 6 liters. In my view, there are no more adjustment options for the seat and steering wheel. And in any case, there is a lack of this smart-typical, this clean-up-and-grin feeling that is hard to describe in any case, I would also get a Brabus Exclusive or a 84 Ps Turbo as a special model for the money. I wanted to hear your opinion, should I really again back to the 451 or do you think this is nonsense ? Don’t get me wrong, the new smart is great but you can see that it is a Renault. The interior is really great, but more fun is somehow the old one and really softer is the 453 also not (have also sport package and 16 inches but nevertheless) So before this thread now drifts into the shoreless, I’m just curious about your opinions )

What I noticed last night: The Light is really pathetic, it’s like a lantern with whale oil. And Start Stop worked almost from the first minute. I haven’t slowed down much more.
