All 451s I had before (3 Fzg) had a better light with H7 than the current 453. Now I have exchanged the murky serial funzels for Osram Nightbreaker and hope to see running cows on the road earlier There are (legal) ways to improve something beyond this Osram?

Air conditioning
Hi, I recently bought a Smart 453 Forfour built in 2015 with automatic air conditioning. I tested the air conditioning for cooling before buying it and was of the opinion that it was cool. However, the vehicle was in the underground garage where it is already a bit cooler anyway…. 2-3 days later, when I was on the road (outside temperature about 16-18 degrees) I had the feeling that there was not really cold/cool air coming out of the system. Also not on the coldest level with maximum air output strength. Lieg t it is true that it is not so hot/hot outside in October, that the air conditioner therefore does not bring proper cooling power ? Or do I just have a defect in the system somewhere? Can someone tell me something about it? Even if you had a defective at the system, I was happy to know what the problem was. Vllt has a typical flaw or something. I thank you already

Smart 453 ForTwo 0.9 90PS Turbo for short distances?
Hi, I’m looking for a Smart ForTwo 453. The car is supposed to be my main car. At the moment I’m still driving Avensis station wagon, but I don’t need it anymore. Drive mostly alone with empty car. Luggage or purchases in the passenger seat. I live in the middle of the big city and just can’t find parking spaces, so I’ve always driven vacuum cleaners from Japan, so the purchase of the Smart is quite a change. m what I have read, it should be a 0.9 turbo with 90hp and automatic, because the 71hp sucker should be very lame. I have a few questions to the connoisseurs: I drive a lot of short distance (e.g. 4km in one direction). In the year until now so 10-12.000km, think that will no longer be, rather less. Are such short distances a turbomotor killer? One often reads that the car is coldly jerking and badly switches, it is perhaps just the wrong car for short distance and I should the 1.0 S I would like to have the Turbo because it is my only car as described above and I also want to do 500km or even 1000km one way with it or on the country road where it goes a bit up and down. Somewhere in the Smart 453 forum I read that until 2017 parts of the Turbo (Wastegate?) were badly chosen by Daimler and therefore the vintages should be avoided. Is that correct? Basically, a car doesn’t scare me off because it has (almost) 10 years on the hump. But don’t know whether smarts (or turbos in general) with good care also hold as e.g. the old Japanese. What equipment do you advise? Currently I have the climate automatic, correct glove compartment and the height adjustable seat, in addition to motor / gearboxes, on the must-have list. I’m still traumatized by the gutter in 451. Are models with a panoramic roof louder on the highway? Thank you very much for the help! I’m not sure if there are any more cars with a large 16 or even 17 or 17 rims and the sports package.

Remedy against swirled dirt at the rear?
Today I drove with my new 453er convertible about 5 km on rainy road. This short ride led to so much dirt on the rear window that you could not look through. Logically, the cover is similarly dirty. (The predecessor, the 451er convertible, did not have this problem). I don’t want to hang any rubber flaps behind the rear wheels now, that certainly looks sour and I don’t even know how to fix them. Do I have to live with it in the future? Or has ever If yes, please info, how…

ForFour, 453 of 2016: roof antenna, replacement for rod *and* socket
Hello together With my wife’s smart, not only the roof antenna rod, but also the base has been damaged some time ago – no spare rod can be screwed in. I covered the hole with adhesive tape (photo). Half a year ago I ordered a replacement in the official Smart workshop, finally arrived – and now the round foot of the new rod does not fit into the rectangular border of the screw mount of the new socket, obviously false base The workshop discusses with the manufacturer. As I fear from experience that further months may pass: Is there perhaps a suitable, compatible solution from the accessory market, *including* socket? Then I could have it installed at a normal car radio store (roof sky removed and so…). Otherwise I call at scrap dealers in the area, maybe they have slaughtered such a part times and in stock. Error code P2243 / P2244 – Lambda before cat, but voltage is measured
Hello, with my Smart 453 with 70ps. the engine warning light is displayed. I read this out, and then comes the error P2243 (at AutoDoctor) and P2244 at CarScanner. Both should however indicate a fault of the Lambda probe in front of the cat. If I look at the voltages of the two probes: Lambda 1 and Lambda 2 is then, Lambda 1 is constant at 1.28V and Lambda 2 without gas also at 1.28V but I give gas then it goes down and then up again. If I really miss it Then the probe before the cat should control the whole mixture, for that the voltage must then vary. And the probe after the cat should remain constant. If the after the cat fluctuates this should be a sign of a problem with the cat. So now I see the Lambda 2 regulated depending on the gas and Lambda 1 is constant. Is the Lambda 2 the probe before the cat? From the Logic I would have thought that the Lambda 1. Does someone know that? and if Lambda 2 is in front of the cat, and this now regulates, what exactly can the error be? If I delete the error it will come back even after more or less short time. Check engine lights up.
Hello Together, I have a FourFour 0.9 with 90hp with 66000 km. The following problem is current. — first the motor lamp sporadically lit up. Then I switched spark plugs and Lufi. Then a time well 7nd lamp remained out. — now after a full gas acceleration the lamp lights permanently and in the upper area lacks power. I have no smoke back and otherwise the engine runs round. Never changed the fuel filter. Can it be the filter or does the turbo have a way? Cruise control is no longer possible. The driving method is normal, rather retired and mostly 20-40 km. No heating in the upper speed range. For conjectures or aids I would be grateful.

Smart forfour Bj2017 Central locking problem
Hello, I have a problem with my wife’s car, and he does the following : when I open the central lock with the key, this problem goes without problem when I get out of the car again and try to close the car Unfortunately, the connection and unlocking does not work anymore or only sporadically. There is always a clapping but no locking. I noticed now that the key also partly reacts very sensitively even if I just stroke over it, he tries to unlock or lock what only succeeds once in a while. Sometimes the key only works when I move it or shake it, start it and drive it easily. Have already checked all doors, switch key battery, disconnected vehicle battery from time to time. Hello together, in the forum you can get the impression that the new smart is completely burdened with problems. I don’t want to deny them or talk nicely, but I wonder if some are satisfied? By this I don’t mean whether the car is perfect, but whether it has met the expectations or if you would buy the 453 again. I’m curious who is “outet”. Noise / steering problems smart 453 BJ 2016
Hello am a Smart Frischling since 02/16. Smart Fortwo 90 ps gear shift Current km Stand 5300 was new registration was satisfied until May and then the problems started with the steering wheel. Would have already been towed and brought to a dealer…. who could or wanted to find nothing (was Friday afternoon) in Niederbayern Bin then back home with “this steering”! Then I am here on site to a dealer…. He built in new crossbars. Did not bring this! the car 1 day. You don’t find anything. It seemed really stupid to me. Car rides today the whole day and the steering is crawling more and more. I talked to the office today and drive tomorrow to Landsberger Str. Bin. Does one of you also have these problems with the steering? Servus Claudia
