  • Learn to drive – the uebel of the circuit

I have just read a text about an American who is trying to use a manual transmission in new york – here. written quite funny and the point is of course the very best… how did you learn to drive a car? do you remember how hard it was to drive? does it happen now and then that the motor is starting to smell? dear gruss oli

  • Where do you spoil your moose with the creepy pseudo-eco-zone plaque?

You have to cover up the windshield of your elk with this stupid dust-free place. Do I have to stick the right bottom in order to hide children and cyclists behind it? Or can I also laminate them and, if necessary, clamp them into the parking disc holder on the left? Don’t have to be constantly in these bullshit zones and that doesn’t have to be in there all the time. Besides, there’s no more to Switzerland-Vignette, Ösi-Pickerl, Parkrechtigungspapperl and the whole scrap soon the car looks like a collection of stickers. It used to be, so rust holes were covered… TobiV70 – no supporter of these stickers at all, if that wasn’t noticed yet

  • Highway in Saarland -> Strange overbuilding, do you know that?

Hi together, just before Saarlouis I have seen this very strange motorway superstructure and can’t explain to me yet conclusively what this should be. My ideas: 1. Bat protection cover -> the animals cross the highway on their route and are prevented by the tension on the low flight (which would be fatal). 2. Lightning discharge device -> Asks only for what? Is there something under the highway? 3. Modern art -> but then very incomprehensible. Who approves an artist in the d irekten area of the StVO to build a work of art. When a wire crashes down there? 4. Volvo catch net -> is of course nonsense, but maybe the wires are automatically drained after a toll bridge monitoring and “catch” so sought-after cars 😉 No – I’m not particularly paranoid … …

  • 120g/km CO2 and the possible consequences ….

The directive currently being seriously discussed by the EU and strongly supported by our Minister for the Environment, Mr Gabriel, according to which no more cars with more than 120g/km of CO2 can be sold from 2012 onwards is likely to be more than just a few years after that. I have made the effort and researched the current situation in this regard. I also came across a list of DATs that can be seen here. As a result: Off for VW (except 1.4 Polo TDI), Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VOLVO , Porsche, the Americans (GM, Ford) are completely away from the window, and also the Asians will disassemble it to the current models (except Toyota Prious Hyrbid 1.4 and Daihatsu Cuore 1.0, and Honda Civis hybrid). I have scanned a list of the most economical models – see appendix. That means we will soon drive all small cars with minimal motorization as a result of a European ecodict .. !? *so a kind of CO2-trabbi* I’m looking forward to your opinions on the topic – autotechn isch und sozialistische …. CO2-freie Greetings from the eMkay, who somehow imagined Europe a little different here …. P.S. – I myself thought spontaneously : OK – then drive again a few years V8 – then NEVER again …

  • Moose protection in case of breakdown / accident

On the occasion: How do you secure your moose and yourself in the event of a breakdown? The occasion: My old Lima decided to strike last night. It became darker and darker on the highway was over. On to the breakdown strip, that went well, the route was empty. But then: without electricity no warning blinker, no light – just dark in the dark. Good, warning vest – passive warning source. Then warning triangle placed. By chance still a bluish-white flashing LED head lamp found in the trunk, which After seeing trucks in traffic control hangers rushing (okay, it was Sunday night => no trucks), I found it rather sparse when I had already seen more marked vehicles with many flashing lights almost shot off the highway. Therefore, the question: What do you have to protect yourself and your moose and your fellow human beings from accidents in the event of a case? After all, it doesn’t always stand. Who has more than one warning triangle in his moose (in the new moose there are two with me), who has yellow, battery-powered flashing lights with him? What else do you have with you on space-saving, well visible warning devices? In the USA I have seen these once – but probably quite expensive, but damn efficient. Well, of course, the probability of staying invisible on the highway at night is low, but if, then. But for a little truth, it is only a small amount. In general, you don’t work so well… What do you do?

  • Clutch replace Volvo 440 1,8i Built 1996

After I left my car standing today and drove with my daughter (90 Ps already annoyed a huge one) I thought about how long this clutch still holds. Since it is a clutch operated with rope pull, I first set a little more game (a little underdrive), first the grinding point seemed to have moved again some bits in the direction of the middle, before the clutch separated already, if I have kicked unlodious 2cm already completely But the good thing didn’t come to slip, but what struck me is that the start-up took forever, no matter how I tried it, the thing doesn’t come before, only lying down and then when you let go completely the clutch he logically pulls right, as if the clutch was built up before only more badly than quite pressure between the plate. Long speech Kurzer sinn, with ebay there clutches from 50€, whether cheap or not, for the purpose is enough, he has 150 tkm down, there will probably be before what will die when the clutch passes over a second time My question is, how do I make sense of replacing the clutch, not that I have never done anything like this before, but it was once with a w203, small difference to the Volvo, and I also had the repair manual. It would be nice if who could say here what the steps are (in the correct order) to not invess unnecessary time and nerves into the rust leaf. Both drive waves must get out etc. Ic h don’t expect an essay from you here, just a few tips. From the construction all this looks very simple, no wild constructions of the front axle. Greetings Reinhard

  • ECJ judgment on the exchange of defective products

A naïve question to the legal experts among us: Can this judgment have an impact on the return of vehicles (after unsuccessful repair attempts)? Or is a defective vehicle not a defective product? See here: The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has strengthened the rights of consumers when exchanging defective products. If a device breaks before the expiry of the warranty period, then the customer may not be charged a wear fee when exchanging, the Geri chtshof in Luxembourg. According to German law, this was possible until now. (…) And here: (…) In the case under negotiation, 17 months after the purchase of a stove set, the enamel layer had burst off in the corresponding oven. The defendant shipping company recognized the claim to guarantee. As a repair was not possible, the oven had to be replaced by a new one. (…)

  • Fuel consumption D5 mj2002

Hello dear D5 drivers (are a lot here…..), I have been driving a new V70 D5 premium with automatic for about 3 months now. I am currently driving my D5 about 60% city and about 40% highway. My on-board computer almost always calculates a cut-through consumption of about 8.2 – 8.4 liters. But if I then refuel and recalculate I never get under 9 liters! I drive relatively normal, so no extremely sporty driving in the city, but I drive on the BAB sometimes over 200. Has someone comparable experience with the consumption. Is it as normal or is it like I find too high. My Bekanter drives its A8 TDI 180 HP Tiptronic with a good one litre less! I get by the way far more (70l and more!!) than the specified 60l in the tank.

  • How many software updates??????

hello, so I find these sw-updates very interesting which types of updates are there? does someone have experience with it? what costs arise? thank you for your answers greeting chris

  • Satisfied with the automatic climate control?

Hello together! My V70D5 is now already 2 months old. Still have a huge joy – especially with the engine and the design at all. But I am not completely satisfied with the automatic climate control, especially with regard to the rich extra charge for this in relation to the manual system. The blower blows constantly too strong, and the set temperature of 22° causes only lukewarm air currents from the nozzle after a frosty night even with a warm driven engine A quick interior heating I can only reach by manual setting to maximum temperature-but I would not have needed air conditioning, a manual one would have done so. How are your experiences in this regard, but will visit my dealer.
