  • Do moose drivers have exaggerated quality visions?

Sometimes, when I read so here, I get the impression that moose drivers have exaggerated quality ideas. We scold about problems, of which other brands would be happy if they had them… My comparison Dodge Avenger against P131 shows, for example, at what level the competition is partial. Now again, a rental car, uh, no, meanwhile the fourth (!) in four days (!!), a Chrylser Sebring Cabrio. 0. Car rental: Not taken at all, because already when collecting kapu But you were allowed to take the rental car out of a row yourself, so you just went to the next one. So it doesn’t count in my count, quality and Chrysler, of course. 1. Car rental went back because the trunk didn’t close. That’s, according to the rental company, a well-known problem. 2. Car rental went back because the tyre pressure control has spun and constantly wailed that the bucket had a plate, although the pressure was ok everywhere. 3. Car rental went back because the cover didn’t open. I just got the 4th – is the Chrylser quality? That wasn’t a Monday car, but 4th each around the 20,000 miles on the clock. So not really old. Well, the rental company was friendly and helpful – something you can’t say about the one with the white lettering on a red background in .de. Now seriously, if there is one of us about talking about problems with his moose – aren’t we just really spoiled animal (elchish)? TobiV70 – looking forward to his moose at home 🙂

  • OT: Moose Driver goes USA

Hello dear Volvo drivers and sympathizers, we are thinking about making a camper trip through the west of the USA this autumn. At the moment I am putting together a route (according to the first draft 3700 miles ..uiuiui). What I would like to know is what a daily rate you have to expect for self-catering per person. I find information between 20 and 50 $ / day. What does it cost for cooking yourself (many more barbecues)? Do you have experience with prices of Camp Ingplatzen?! After everything I’ve read, I guess ~15$ on average… Does anyone know an unbeatable cheap and recommended camper rental? Maybe someone was over the pond the other day… Greetings, Tom

  • Production site

I just wanted to ask where Volvo actually produces the different models. Are all Volvos still running off the line in Gothenburg?

  • Volvo Image – has it changed?

A few years ago, in connection with the presentation of the S80 and the decision in the future officially not to offer a station wagon to every limousine, but to market the station wagon and limousine side by side, Volvo wanted to try to get away from its image as a pure combo manufacturer. Customers should grant the brand a higher level of competence in limousines. How do you see that? Is Volvo not only able to connect with the station wagon with S40, S60 and S80 anymore? I personally think that they have made a big step forward with the S60 in particular. It is always seen in a line with really good and sporty limousines. Compared to the Quasi predecessor S70, the registration numbers have multiplied and the numbers of the S80 are also at a slightly lower level than from the old 90s series together with limousine and station wagon.

  • Travel to Sweden

Hello together Hmm. would like to go on vacation to Sweden. Have thought about the plane to Stockholm and from there with a rental car to turn around. With the rental car is driven through Sweden (under other Gothenburg, Volvo Museum) and then left again in Stockholm, where I would like to stay a little longer (2-3 days). Is this recommended? Or should you book hotels in advance for example? Besides, if already in Sweden a rental car, then a VOLVO, you have Thank you very much for all the hints, ideas, inputs

  • V70 –> which engine?

Hello, if necessary would like to buy used V70, best black metallic, air conditioning automatic, combo anyway, not so old ( 1999/2000 ). Unfortunately I don’t know the engine pallet so well, and with every manufacturer there are so shooting stars ( at VW e.g. 130 HP pump nozzle ) and which are not so great ( at VW this was e.g. the 5-valve 1.8 l 125 HP ). Can any of you give me tips on this ? – does not have to be a rocket, but still prepare driving fun ( I guess so 130 – 150 HP should be rich n ) – the maintenance costs should not be so high. Since I do not drive as much ( about 15 tkm ) this mainly concerns tax and insurance ) – consumption should not exceed 9, max. 10 l – long durability ( the vehicle may have 60 – 80 tkm, but then should still run good 100 tkm j kann ) – Diesel would be great to me, but probably comes due to the fixed costs rather less into question, or ? Thank you already. Ciaoi.

  • Update from the update of the heater and other

Hello together, as I wrote last week, my car was yesterday in the workshop because of various little things. I just picked up again. Car rental S60 without calculation. 1) Loud tick, tick noises left under bench. Cause: fuel line is located on carasserie floor and transmits pump noise. The cooler the more intense. No noise is gone. 2) Suffering of the heater from time to time. Has new software for preheater been installed, which the tormenting under In addition to new control software, however, the heater function is switched off. I do not know if there is only this software now, in any case it no longer smokes. 3) Early illumination of the inspection display Deleted Greeting Volker

  • Fairness in car magazines

Hello, in another thread was about the “seriosity”, called “defectlessness” of auto tests. That always little things are mixed up, we must live with it. In this posting it is about the price presentation and about test reports in general. “Previous” I was once a fan of the AMS. Physically, detailed, relatively neutral. Then at the beginning of the 90s an extreme VW-Euphrorie started. Also the test reports become increasingly scarce, more and more wischi-waschi and In spite of all attempts to be neutral, I also find the comparison of the prices in comparison tests extremely banal. In addition, the “predictability of the VTs on the pointer. If a VW or an Audi is present, it wins, because of the “value change”. If this, the Seat or Skoda wins. Not German cars are always much worse. Often it is also the case that a car in the individual test is still quite good, but in the VT is completely “ironed”. And quite obviously h The AMS editors are shot at the new 7s. So nobody can use it. The quite similar, IMHO not easier to use A8 is better about classes. At the time I like the mot quite much. Also car goes like that. The mot tries an exact, data-controlled equipment opposite, very commendable. As example I call the VT from the 24/2001 S60 against c-Class and X-Type. The AB* as VW-Hauspostille, however, I consider as “informationless, but maintenance ame reading” at a kiosk. How are you? Which magazines are available in the other countries? Jürgen

  • The Infinite History Part 1

A Vovlo trailer bought a 85o T-5 for the woman… It all fits, the color, the mileage, equipment ….Just everything … You were happy to finally have 2 of the same type standing on the yard, and you immediately started to “equip” the car … In the course of the equipment the freak noticed that the car began to smoke in the back and you came to the realization that it could be either the turbo or the valve shaft seals and you immediately went to the next This dealer destroyed one dream after another every minute, whereupon the freak drove home completely destroyed and thought … He came to the conclusion that he went to a recognized backyard screwdriver, and that he would fix his beloved second car again … Well, you came to the yard and he immediately said it would be the turbocharger … The freak agreed and immediately got a new loader that was installed (the 1 . 500 Teuro)… He drove home after a successful repair and noticed that the car was still smoking and drove in a bad mood to the next workshop … This “mechanist” said it was the sheep tab seals and would repair them … said … after a week he called the freak and told him that he couldn’t fix this because he didn’t have the special tool (?) … and so the freak got his smoking car again … He then looked for the next workshop The workshop came to the conclusion that it is “definitely the head seal” … Now completely destroyed after this devastating message he went again to his promised backyard screwdriver to try to save his beloved car. The screwdriver opened the engine block, and called on the freak that he had never seen such a beautiful head seal in a car. s 9 years old is … so much for it … The screwdriver changed the head seal, replaced the sheep tab seals and will now reassemble the block … The freak is now curious whether the torment is gone or not … (continued)
