  • Moisture in the car

  • new engines BMW/PSA and VW

    Hello and afterwards a good new year to everyone! I read an interesting article today in the South German about the new engines of BMW/PSA and VW. BMW/PSA (cooperation) will build from the end of 2005 in France small 4-cylinders (1.4 and 1.6) with: -petrol-direct injection – variable valve control – turbo – electr. controlled oil/water pumps – variable camshafts Goal: annually 200,000 pieces for the mini and 800,000 for PPE. Power is to be between 75 – 170 hp. 0-15% lower than before, as are emissions. VW is also working on new engines: they are supposed to be charged in two stages: first compressor, then turbocharger. Target: 1.4l with 125 hp (!) and 1.6l with 170 hp. My questions: 1. who can explain the difference Turbo/Compressor to me? 2. What does Ford/Volvo do in this segment of small power engines? This is absolutely necessary to get the fleet consumption down. And Volvo has really enough turbo-know-how. the smallest Volvo turbo engine currently 2.0, right?

  • CO2 control computer

    Moin moin together! In the course of the economic stimulus packages a new tax calculation for vehicles was issued. Even older vehicles are slowly integrated into this tax. I will change as fast as possible the following is taken into account: The standard consumption inputs of the manufacturer are targeted for this. The basis is included that each litre of petrol produces at 1 km 23 gram CO2. Petrol vehicles with a specified consumption from 4,3l to 100km or less (Benzin) are tax-free! Diesel vehicles up to 3.8l/100km are also tax-free… I am not aware of any emission classification changes. Probably it will be added that Euro 1, Euro 2, Euro 3, Euro 4 and Euro 5/6 differ somewhat, but we will see that. Thus the question “How expensive will my vehicle be?” Quite simply, for some vehicles the vehicle tax will be even lower (according to the tax calculator). So with my C30 with the 2.0l petrol engine a consumption is According to the old car tax I pay per anno 135 EUR. Actually nice and good, however, due to the CO2 tax, my tax drops to “only” 101.09 EUR – that is 34 EUR less… In contrast, it looks different with our S80… Also with 2.0l petrol engine, the previous taxes also amounted to only 135 EUR (Euro 3). Due to the fact that the car consumes more petrol than my C30, the taxes rise to 220.32 EUR per anno. almost 90 EUR MORE you have to pay(!) – the tax comes for all vehicles and that is safe! Even if it was first said that the old vehicles remain with the current tax rates. For diesel drivers it will probably be even more “deer” than before. Thus, large diesels, which consume more than 5l (plant specification), cost per additional litre 100 EUR -in words INHUNDRED EURO- more… Say: from 5l/100km (no matter how old the diesel is) will be charged to the 115.80 EUR (tax at 5l consumption) from the With an SUV we say 12l to 100km as consumption, we have a tax rate of 818,32 EUR!!!!!
