  • ot: What’s going on here?

Hello together! admitted, I’m not as active at mt as I was a year ago. but 4 – in words: four! – closed topics on the first page in the main forum give me a little bit to think about. every second day a moderater had to intervene! is someone overzealous here? have the rules changed in the forum? or does a completely different wind blow here in the meantime? I mean: the emotions go to one or the other – at least with the topics that I have in the last few days. I’ve just found out that everything was definitely better before! at least three years ago oli still had to take a huge stake when he intervened like this. the rest has “self” regulated itself.>

  • 2.4 sprite consumption ?

My father has the above-mentioned engine with 140hp in the V50 and complains about high sprite consumption. I heard that there should be a new software update for the engine that lowers the consumption. Is that true? Would you be grateful if someone could tell me something about it.

  • Collection order i-pod adapter

Hello together, In this thread, topi writes about his good experience with the import from USA i-pod adapter. I would also like to order one, some interested parties have already registered. I am ready to organize this. If you can agree firmly, please report by specifying the desired version (please read the instructions at Bostonvolvo!); either here in the thread or via PN. Deadline is 20.9.2005, then the order goes out. Greeting, Hagen

  • New C70 – Purchase decision yes or no

At the moment I’m a little undecided. In May next year a new car will be due. It should become a convertible again – only which one? (real stress! ;-)) Currently I drive an A4 convertible 8H. Actually I didn’t have the new C70 convertible on my wish list. But when I saw it at the IAA, it changed. At least I liked the look very much. But now I have no experience with Volvo so far. What does the new C70 say about the CLK or 3 Series convertible or The A4 Cabrio? What about it? The motorization is something for me. Lt. dealer is the highest level in the new C70 of the T5 with 220 hp. Who has experience with the engine? Is the power enough for a relatively heavy car? In the BWM or MB I would tend to 250 – 270 hp engines.

  • Press prices

Hello, I think about buying a Volvo as a service vehicle. I used to drive MB, there were press discounts on new and used vehicles. For new cars our association database knows discounts, for used cars it is silent. Can any of you help me? (I am satisfied with the info: “Yes, also used cars. Same height as new cars.” or just factually appropriate.) Does anyone know if the shares of press discount dealers / company are the same for used ones as for new ones? Antw of course for reasons of secretion also likes to be located by PN.

  • D: Penalty for summer tyres in snow

This morning, the first flakes of the season swirled in the Zittauer Gebirge and the Federal Ministry of Transport is making a fuss in the latest news of Stolpe’s final chord: “The Federal Ministry of Transport wants to introduce new fines next May. Anyone caught by the police in winter weather with summer tires should pay 20 euros penalty. Anyone who stays in the snow and hinders traffic will be charged 40 euros. However, a general winter tire obligation The equipment was to be adapted to the weather conditions.” The cucumber

  • Volvo lowers production figures

Just found at autohaus.de. Just a short dent or signs of serious problems? The S80 is coming next year, but probably hardly the big volume model. C30 is coming next year. Great chance for high sales figures? XC90 D5 is only now really on the market. Should be able to keep the sales figures stable despite advanced construction period and strong competition. S40/V50 D5 brings new boost for the middle class. S60 and V70 need their own As far as possible, V70 is larger and especially with 6-cylinder diesel.

  • For the current occasion

Dear Forum, at some point today it was time. The Volvo Forum cracked the 200,000 mark. Many thanks to everyone who helped and who above all gave this forum its good mood. On this occasion I remembered that I wrote a similar post before Laaanger time. How the times have changed after all.

  • OT: Moose is coming home…

Well, where one of the jobs doesn’t do everything. Let’s go here, let’s go there, mostly in D, sometimes over the pond, and this time? In one of our neighboring countries, to Belgium. Somewhere in the deepest Pampa in a cafe from which nobody has heard anything before except the inhabitants. Apparently there are no hotels there, because the customer booked for me a hotel in the next bigger city: Ghent, Ghent, Ghent… know however somewhere? Exactly, there are some of our moose built, among others my moose is coming home! About 21 months after his birth my moose sees his homeland again. Fortunately I had my camera with me, so here are some impressions from the city. Since I don’t know myself there at all I can unfortunately not provide a description of the individual objects. Have fun with it. Greeting, Olli

  • FRage: is my 170 ps gasoline a smart motor?

Question: is my 170 ps petrol engine an effective one? Hello people, please ask for advice/technical information from knowledgeable forum colleagues: have ordered me an S80 automatic with 170 hp petrol engine, because I wanted a quiet engine (this is supposedly louder), but it has enough power to speed up the relatively heavy S80 with overtaking maneuvers at 80 to 100 km/h on the road and petrolers are used to. However, when comparing with other car brands there are doubts: 1. eg ein ung about the same Mercedes with 163 hp petrol (200k) only needs approx. 8 sec. – this also applies to other equally strong gasoline from other brands – with the S80 Aut stand 9,9 sec (at 170 hp!) on the data sheet ==> is the Volvo 170 hp petrol a bad engine for acceleration/overtaking? 2. the 170 hp petroler brings full NM only at rd 6000 Umin – the diesel or the turbos already at 2000 u/min – that means that I can clean up well only on very high tours and with envious speed digkeit or when “Cruisen” with 70-90 km/h can not be properly accelerated? 3. please ask for experience values, how the 170 HP petroler behaves with overtaking maneuvers from 80-100 km/h. Thank you for your experience values or feedback Wolfgang
