  • Fuel price increase 2011

Hello Volvo-gemeinde No one should have missed it any more: the benzien/ and diesel prices have also strongly increased this year! From 2008 to 2009 good 7Cent, 2009 to 2010 again 10Cent and the steep rise does not stop. That we do not mean well I don’t need to ask here. 99,9% will be agreed! But I have two questions to the municipality: What would you do as politicians now, in matter of fuel prices? And where do you think your limit of everyday life is reached? I rec Do you still remember some things to compare in DM , so we are today (you can hardly believe it) : 3,08 DM / liter and diesel 2,74 / L Nice greeting , look forward to your reaction (but please don’t run the heads , do not have to emulate our natural contemporaries all ) René

  • Paraffin in diesel – how to remove

Diesel flopped out – what to do? Hello and good morning. This morning it was with us in the Austrian Styria -17 degrees. After about 5km drive the engine started to buck as if the fuel had ended. But it was not. For me it was actually clear: flopped out. Does JET have no winter diesel? Flixt still one. I then with trouble and hardship and high speeds and yes do not stop the remaining 17 km to work uphill and downhill drove. Shortly before arriving he ran again almost nor Even a start 3 hours after setting off went completely smoothly. Nevertheless: It will probably be parafin in the filter. It does not dissolve. As far as I know, you can never get that out again: the filter is gone. I remember, the stupid ATUler in D have bridged over the original filter times – with a normal filter. It will be dense. Well, how do I get out the next 2 days, I will not reach a workshop – a lot of work. Thanks for First Aid, Greeting Jörg

  • Half OT: by volvo you develop a preference for Nordic design???

Moin, for some time now I have been asking myself and now also you, whether one develops a preference for Scandinavian design through the possession of a volvo or saabs? here are some considerations… is ikea the entry drug? comes then at some point the desire for an arne jacobs chair, zb the egg or the ant, or a furniture of the swed. designer bruno mattson? one buys a stelton thermocan instead of the one of emsa? one drives to sweden on vacation instead of flying to malle? b If you prefer a TV by bang & olufsen (or Metz or loewe, if it should be chic, then you can convince yourself that they are Scandinavian) you buy marimekko covers for the volvo or only curtains for the living room? you eat once the week köttbullar med lingonsylt och greddsås? if you get drunk with absolute vodka instead of whisky? you only celebrate the summer solstice instead of birthday? you pass your house with faluna red? you buy a golden one Retriever (for me, the Nordic dog) has to admit that I am a bit preoccupied, since I have been living in Denmark for 5 years and have lived for half a year in Göteborg, insofar as I am already culturally assimilated. so how is someone who lives 600 km away from the Scandinavian border? the volvo influences life, so volvo for more than life? look forward to your answer. best greetings and beautiful Sunday still sascha

  • Financing question

Hello all, my 14-year-old FIAT Punto is so slowly giving up the mind (coupling just before, trouser tube ruffles, heat exchanger defective) and I don’t see any more, because now again a few hundreds to plug in. After studying TÜV-Report, GTÜ-Used Car Report, Dekra-Report and ADAC-Pannenstatistik not many cars come into question, which I could imagine as successor: Golf, Mazda 3, various Toyota models, Ford Focus, Volvo V50. It should be a diesel with little cubicle and it should be economical. The 1.6 liter diesel from Peugeot, which is also installed in the Focos and V50, should be exactly the right engine. Also the 1.9 liter TDI of the VW models is certainly not bad. But if I see what the golfs after 8 years and with 200,000 km still cost (approx. 5,000 €) I have no desire for the things. With the Japanese it is similar. After much consideration I decided now for the V50 1.6 D (Of course I could also focus with Take the same engine. But the things should start rusting again, also Model 2 from 2004. See TÜV report! The Volvo V50 is no longer a topic. There is already V50 for 9,000 € (3 years old and 150,000 Km down). Now my question: Does it make sense to finance a V50 (EZ. 2007, 150,000 Km) for 7 years with approx. 125 €/month or should I rather take a VW Golf Variant, which already has 7 years and 200,000 Km on the hump, but with which I pay only 105 €/month in 4 years? A In the end, both cars will be about the same age and will have about the same mileage. Only I have the fear that I will have rehearsal costs for an 8-year-old golf. On the topic of financing: I don’t have any other loans running, a safe job and relatively good earnings. The new used person will fiananance himself through my work, as I can calculate 30 cents per kilometer and thus make my 400 km a month. In addition, it is a diesel with 5 liters on a hundred kilometers and no punto with 6.5 liters of petrol. I save even after deduction of the higher tax. I need a reliable station wagon, as I travel a lot with clients.

  • The exterritoriale: San Diego…

At the moment, I’ve moved to San Diego, CA. This looks a bit different from Ohio in terms of automotive technology. I’ve seen a lot more pick-ups, a lot more bimmers, some mercs and yes, an A6 as well. Tempolimit has a more recommending character here. As a rental car I have an Eldorado…. Well, yes…. Unfortunately, it’s not really warm and it has rained a lot, or many clouds.

  • Show me your stickers

Moin, moin… I always pay attention to Volvos when driving but mostly don’t recognize their stickers. And for that… show your stickers Hope the funks with the pic (first attempt). lg Hobbes

  • That’s where…

…someone borrows my car and didn’t have a key! Instead of calling me (the number is definitely on it) no, he tries to open the car with the screwdriver! What does it look like, would be embarrassing to drive a stolen car with a broken door! I have a neck!!!!! Actually, the guy can be happy that I didn’t get there, otherwise I would need a new bonnet! And I have no idea if the insurance pays what The Tomsi, who sometimes doesn’t understand the world…

  • b19 eats øl – consumption difference between 3,000 and 3,500 u/min!?

at my b19 the head seal on the fourth cylinder is a bit leaky and the engine needs for a long time øl. similar about a liter / 500km. in the last two months, however, I drove almost only at the end of the week, then mostly just under 1000 or 1100 km, in two stages, and that at quite constant 3,500 u/min, which corresponds to about 105 km/h. I do not turn the motor out of principle over 4,000, only all few weeks for an eye view on 5,000, I was recommended to In these last two months the consumption of øl has increased by about 50-90%, varies slightly. is this now due to the higher speed and the pure long distances and is rather harmless or is it possible to predict the final motor death remotely? will otherwise buy a new 20 liter canister 10w30 tomorrow morning anyway.
