  • How fast are you on your way?

I’d be interested in how you deal with your speedometer and the current speed. I’ve been driving for years according to the “from 10 to 20” method. supported by the tempomate in v70, I’ve been unblitzed for a good two years. the “from 10 to 20” methodto speed 50 always > +10 tempo 30 > tacho 40 > real ~34 tempo 40 > tacho 50 > real ~44 tempo 50 > tacho 60 > real ~54between speed 50 and tempo 100 > +20% tempo 60 > tacho 72 > real ~66 tempo 70 > tacho 84 > reacho l ~78 tempo 80 > tacho 96 > real ~90 tempo 100 > tacho 120 > real ~112ueber tempo 100 > +20 tempo 120 > tacho 140 > real ~132 tempo 130 > tacho 150 > real ~140 so that I roll more in the upper middle field. but some are also much faster on the road. how do you do it? maybe we can agree on a few methods and later start a corresponding question.

  • Body colour

Dear forum! I’m about to buy a big guy (XC90 Diesel+Switch) and I’m still thinking about whether to wait for the introduction of a particle filter or not (cost increase, driving performance etc… should be available in the model year 05) and have a color to choose. Actually I would like to have it in white – also because it’s the only non-metallic color (next to black, which is, as we know, no color) BUT my friend advises off: lower resale value etc. I want a about not silver or black, like 85% of all others (in Italy probably 95%) and I can’t imagine that this white giant with dark slices looks stupid. I used to have a BMW 520 in white and I liked it. (but my dealer took almost a year to install it – in black it would have gone in a month…he says). But used 520 there is like sand at the sea, XC90 is never so inflationary. What does the “Volvogemeinde”? e from Ö

  • Does the volvo affect your driving style?

here comes the desired question: in this thread it was announced a few times that with the purchase of the respective volvos the driving style has calmed down – and now everything is more relaxed than before. since I would naturally like to know, who sees this really like this? drive you now differently than before? can you drive at the same time more relaxed and faster? and what influences this change? are it really the seats? or is that all the talk? about the participation in unfællen, I have l again no German pay, but can serve with Norwegian: adjusted for registration so many drivers of 100 in 2003 have been involved in an insurance registered accident: citroen is at the top of 14.1, followed by bmw/audi with 10. at the bottom is volvo with 8.4 – already for years (dagbladet, 24. august). the journalists exclude from these numbers that volvo drivers are generally more relaxed on the road… so, make a few relaxed thoughts a topic for you. .. dear gruss olifs the necessary response spectrum should not be covered, please pn to a mod

  • Rules for MT

I have followed some threads here, to which I have consciously contributed nothing. As has now turned out quite right. There are rules in this forum, which unfortunately I can no longer remember (like probably most others also not!?), because they are only displayed during the registration! Wouldn’t it make sense to place these rules here so that you can look at what is the matter in between? Should there be these rules here for retrieval (I did not have them). found), I ask for notice. Greetings Martin

  • Paint care products on the decorative (protective) strips

Hello Volvo municipality, here’s a tip for all those who have grey stripes on the plastic parts on the outside of the vehicle through paint care products. The removal always caused me great problems because the plastic surfaces are quite rough. I now take the “Master Propper dirt eraser”. After instruction used he removes the residue effortlessly. Even if they are already “sealed” by plastic care products. (Also goes with the second car of Porsche, BMW, AUDI, Maibach…)

  • Collectable thread: Awards for Volvos

Collectable thread: Asu drawings for Volvos Hej together, I have come across several articles in the last few days in which Volvos have received awards that are a little more important and prestigious – others are almost quirky. Anyway, I thought it might make sense to open a thread for the collection of such awards. C30 wins the golden steering wheel S80 wins the Autorevue Award in Austria Autocar Safety and Technology Award for BLIS Volvo has di e pet-friendly cars

  • Christmas greetings 2007 from Volvisti to Volvisti

Hello together, at the risk that I have not found an already existing Christmas greeting, I want to make sure that my Christmas greetings reach you (if I forget some relatives and friends over and over again ). I wish you all a restful Christmas, little emergency services and special requests about the holidays and then finally all the best for the New Year 2008. I let go of that with the good luck, unless you are with Your moose on a drift course on the way greeting xc90er …who should have official vacation from tonight…

  • Why is VOLVO so safe?

Why are VOLVO so certain? I know that some of them do not hold much of the standardized tests a la Euro NCAP. But if you look at the body of an S80 and e.g. a Citroen C6, Audi A6 or Renault Vel Satis (after the crash test) then I find that the body of the C6 is “beautiful” for example http://www.euroncap.com/…/Citroen%20C6%20Datasheet%202.pdf as the S80 http://www.euroncap.com/…/details.php?id1=4&%3Bid2=55 You should only use the The front windshield and the crisper look at the roof, I get “bad” directly, without now wanting to make VOLVO bad, because they make perfectly safe cars, e.g. the current S40. I also know that the passenger airbag is a free option, and therefore he has only received four stars, but only if you compare the two pictures of the S80 and C6, I want to be the driver of the C6 at a crash S80 against C6. Then why should Citroen, who is a gei I know that the test is not comparable in different classes, because in case of a crash Volvo S80 against Citroen C3, I would like to be the driver of the Volvo. I also know how to protect the innovations of VOVLO, e.g. composite windshield, safety belt, WHIPS… No question, without VOLVO, the automotive industry would not be safe today in matters of safety (all other manufacturers) where they are today. can’t another manufacturer just as much build their cars if not safe? Thanks for your answer, I hope I don’t “suffer” a VOLVO driver with this Thead 😉 mfg oli

  • Off Topic: Helpfulness

Oh man, I have to come down (I’m a little emotional at the moment), so I’m writing here in Motortalk, although it has nothing to do with Volvo, but driving: I just come out of the gym, which I visit three times a week. Drive out of the exit as a left-hander and this leads to a busy main road, which is on a slope. As a left-hander it goes uphill. Before I could turn onto the main road a Japanese small car drives older year of construction It was in front of me. Out of the car came black smoke and he jerked. I could (because the car had an advance) put me behind it. After about 20 meters there was end terrain, nothing went and the car stopped. The road is one-lane at this entrance, so he blocked the traffic. Out of the car came a young man (I believe Turkish origin), a young woman and two small children. The woman and the children go away from the roadway on the sidewalk. The young man versu but it was clear that there was nothing left, a brown liquid (oil with water?) ran out of the car downstairs, and the thing was grieving. I turned on the warning light system and blocked the following traffic, went to the driver and asked if I could help. It was clear that the car had to be pushed about 150m uphill to the roadside, for one alone, a meaningless subject. So we started pushing. But now it comes to pass: behind me was a Hupkon men and women of my age (in the middle of 40) but also younger ones sat in their boxes and had nothing better to do than hooves. Two then got out, and yelled: “Drive the rustling leaf away”. The young man was too excited and was pushing, I said “Don’t go, help with pushing instead of yelling around here, then it’s faster”. The two went back in the car and honked on. I’ve never seen so much selfishness and ignorance before. I’ve been a ton wee a short time before. ise stremmed and was exhausted, but in such a situation it is natural to help. Oh man, poor Germany.

  • HU-603 or HU-803

Hello lover of the good tone, in my V70 D5 (MY02) I have the HU-603 with 4x50W amplifier (PA200) and the high performance speaker (HT-281). Subwoofer in the trunk is also in it. I am very satisfied with the sound of the system, but I have already read often that the HU-803 with Dolby Surround is the absolute listening experience. now my question: is there really an extreme difference ? I am talking now only about the difference 603 and 803 each “only” with high performance sounds prechern (not premium). from the sound this would have to be quite the same, since most audio signals are anyway only stereo. would an upgrade pay off ? I would need only the hu-803 and the center speaker, or ? thank you for every info grueße Roman
