Hi Did you notice that in the last years there have been more and more car-tunips on the road? So guys who just have their driver’s license and then hang out with their tuned or papis boxes on all possible parking spaces and tanks. So in my city this is beginning to take over. Running at a traffic light with two tracks I have a crazy next to me, who apparently only wants to make a traffic light because I have tinted windows. That really sucks. Because as a “cool” Volvo driver I don’t like to be overtaken by a Volvo. Besides, I can’t be overtaken by the poor guy who wants to prove something to his girlfriend :-). But it would be fun. I’ve always torn myself together so far. How is that so with you? Or is that just the case with boring little kids. Have you ever let yourself get rid of the taillights to show? I hope not …. 🙂 Marcus

Comparison Diesel 130hp or 140hp
Hello, I would like to buy a used V70 (built in 2000-2002) as diesel. Now I have seen some offers with the “old” 2.5TD with 140hp. Some with the newer 2.4 with 130hp. Now my question: Can you compare the two (for example reliability, driving performance, comfort)? Can I take an “old” with 140hp without any problems, or should I prefer the 2.4 (reliability?)? Or at all save something on the equipment and grab the D5 with 163hp. I’m new here, and deshlab my many questions! I hope some of you can help me with my purchase decision. Thanks already, Thomas

OT: Online racing
Hello dear Volvo friends, I was wondering if we shouldn’t, outside the public streets, have some fun to measure the strength on the home PC (No! Not at work!!). I’m sure there are a few possibilities here, right? Have looked around a bit and came across a promising page: www.esl-europe.net -> Live for Speed Only unfortunately I haven’t got through how the whole club works and which software for it Is there perhaps one or the other who is active in this matter or does someone have an idea of how to realize the above? Look forward to your answers, greetings, Michael

Before I discuss with the Ordinary, here’s your “opinion” –> park sin, right?
Hi together, in the picture you can see a Volvo park. I don’t know the vehicle or the driver and I don’t want to have any repercussions on this ;-)) The question: Is the car correct or can’t expect a ticket? My opinion a little later, first of all completely unburdened your input please! Good ride! Torsten – the XC fan (and order fanatic 😉

adac criticizes the prudence of modern cars as a security problem
the adac speaks for once something, which has already bothered me very much: http://www.tagsschau.de/…/0,1185,OID4861380_REF1,00.html as I had to notice when testing in hemsedal, the view of modern volvos in all directions is relatively poor, in the s40 even forward. now the thick dachholme in modern cars are certainly also clearly safer than the stilts in the ancient 240 and moreover in the roof of a s40 probably more electronics than i n “waltraud minus radio” – but don’t you also think that what has to be done with transparency? are parksensors a good solution or treat the only symptoms? what about blis? will the subject-work-a-sæulen des scc still be found in s30? dear gruss oli

Greetings from Arvidsjaur
Hej, here a little life sign from Arvidsjaur. As written in the thread “Sylvester am Polarkreis”, we are on 27.12., to arrive yesterday, after well 2000km in Arvidsjaur. Everything completely without problems. Reserve canister is not necessary, consumption!!!! Attention!!!! 4,8 liters/100km. It has something galactic, to refuel, you get 1560km left path indicated… roads top passable, temperature around the freezing point. In Östersund we had -20……. Mood, great, let’s see what’s still coming. Oh yes yes, well, we had a good time. , even for those not in love with dynamics a trouble-free ride….

Which V-belts for Volvo 440 II
Moin people, I recently bought an old Volvo 440 II (VOLVO K) BJ. 1994 / 1.8L 90PS the car has no air conditioning (I did not find any) Now I wanted to start it one day, but I immediately turned it off when I saw smoke coming up from the engine compartment…, the big V-belt is totally finished and the small one for the alternator is porous too. Now I wanted to ask if you know which V-belts I have to buy, in the Internet shops I find tens of different, however, I find that all of them drive according to description, the servo pump and the alternator, what do 2 different belts do with me. can anyone call me the two types? Thanks in advance mfg. Vogel

Clean throttle flap Wg. oil coal deposits
Hello, have the problem with my S60 that oil coal has deposited at the throttle valve. The gap is reduced by the deposited oil coal and the engine can no longer regulate properly. This is expressed: when the engine is cold: the engine turns high to heat the cat faster after starting; the speed drops after a few seconds direction of stationary gas speed the engine starts to shake and goes out almost. As soon as you give gas it recovers. with warm engine: during the ride you press the clutch (e.g. when switching) the speed is below the current gas speed and you have the impression that the engine can not control the speed so quickly and almost wants to run out. The remedy is to clean the throttle flap. Has anyone ever done this and can give me tips? Can one reduce the oil carbon deposits by using fully synthetic engine oil (e.g. drive a half-synthetic HC 5W40 from Shell)? Can someone recommend a cleaner By the way, the problem can only occur until model year 2003, as Volvo has changed the throttle valve from 2004. Ciao, Eric, waiting for input THANK YOU in advance

Volvo Prices – Be glad you’re in Germany
Since our offspring needs a little more space in my wife’s car – prams etc. Have we thought about a new car for my wife. Since I am completely satisfied with my 2nd 850s and I also infected you with something with the “Volvo fever”, she has decided for the C30.. (He is “sweet”.. ) So go online and configure the car immediately… For my wife the 1.6 liter is completely enough.. But look…Entry prices: 1.6 IRL- 25.600 EUR BRD – 19.100 This would be the 2nd car that my wife would like. Entry price Ireland 2.4D: 49,950 EUR UK: 28,390 EUR Germany 2.4D: 33,900 EUR This is 16,000 difference… The T6 is not offered here… I know you will probably pass the a***.. I’m only very disappointed by Volvo about these prices.
