Hello your Volvoian, tomorrow is the big day! I’m replacing our V70 2.5T for a new V70 D5. The delivery time was just 4 weeks plus the installation time for the return sensors and the third seat! A total of 6 weeks at an estimated 8 weeks. Also Volvo is probably not fully engaged at the moment. Here the data: V70 D5 Premium, automatic, luxury and combi package, Audio HU-803 Premium, Navi / TV, Amalthea rims, 3rd seat, parking aid, Xenon and 205 winter tires, Mistral green and natural grey inside. I have already studied all the instructions in the last days, everything seems to be quite logical. Will report on the first km on Sunday. Gruss Sysifus

To the “Security freaks”
Most Volvo drivers (at least in this forum) seem to attach great importance to safety, for many even one of the essential reasons for buying. Therefore, I ask you: What do you think of the NCAP test or public crash tests in general? Today, the new test results were presented: 5 stars for E-Class, Vel Satis, Megane and Saab 9-3. What is surprising is the evaluation. The two Renaults got one more point than the E-Class for the frontal crash, the Saab was rated like the Mercedes. But look at the pictures at www.euroncap.com. The E-Class has the most stable passenger cell, the A-pillar practically doesn’t knock off the door frame, the two Renaults are also stable, but not at the level of the Mercedes. On the other hand, the Saab falls enormously. Apparently, a softer passenger cell is even praised by more points!? (the forces are greater with a stable passenger cell). But is an extremely stable passenger cell as with d he E-Class is not more important than slightly lower load values, especially in the event of even more serious accidents? An MB engineer once said in an interview that after years of experience one can get closer to the reality in the internal crash tests and an optimization could result in losses in the ENCAP test. Strangely also: The Laguna and Megane were immediately tested after appearance, the C/E class only months later, do I only imagine something? The new Volvo SUV was all about and not tested.

I’m happy.
that had to be said! every morning it makes me feel difficult to get up. especially in november. but the morning drive to school and then to work compensates me. … and when I make my way home after a strenuous and grueling day in the evening, I naturally look forward to my loved ones. but first I enjoy the journey home. somehow I can’t see that my joy and enthusiasm at my v70 d5 automatic in some way subsided ha It’s a little creepy after five months! So, now you know.

Car B*, comparative test
Hi, well, have you already read the comparison test in Auto B* from yesterday? Man, what have we got for sitting? They are so soft, I slip smoothly on the road…. I never took the A-b for full, but to publish smooth untruths or definitely wrong in a million times the number of pieces is the hammer. There you would have to fight against it under press law. VOLVO D WO BLEIBT YOU????? Why do you let that please you??? Why do you send faithful souls again and again? a premium in the race? You won’t win a flower pot according to your equipment, but you are more and more cementing the prejudice that VOLVOs are more expensive than Audis, etc. VOLVO D WAKE UP!!!!! In the whole test report compared to the VOLVO only a little bit of truth: the steering is indeed worth improving (could be firmer) Jürgen

change 850 to v70 d5
since the appearance of the current v70 (which is already some time ago) the desire for a new (volvo) is still moving in me, but please as a diesel. the audio-diesel has been on offer for a long time, but first the new diesel makes the thing worth considering for me. the test values indicate the volvo in terms of consumption with approx. 8 liters. in your forums one reads however from approx. 6 – 6.5 l diesel. who is right now, since works data in the rule nac h are counted below. topic is certainly also the topic chiptuning, since colleagues from me passat with hopa chiptuning drive. must say, compared to the original amazing. problem is only that hopa in the foreseeable time does not build a chip for the 120 kw diesel. the advantage of hopa is that a support point dealer at the place (94315 Straubing) has and also a corresponding tüv report that makes many things easier. maybe someone can answer me to my post and his e Report or communicate your opinion

Buckles and belt beeps the third:
Hello, since I don’t have an electric garage door opener with remote control I dare now a very provocative thesis: Why can’t I exhibit the beeping (=nervous noise at and out of the garage), but let the acoustic signal lamp on? Is this possible somehow (cut through without cable)? Although I fully agree with the opinion that it is always useful to buckle up (and that especially during service trips on the premises=Arb I am of the opinion that we live in a free country and therefore it should also be left to me whether I want to get a neck fracture by a fast-paced airbag or not ! It is bad to have to be constantly raised by women who still have not understood that guys are like them and to be taken as such or not to be taken as such. But that now also my car to educate me by a nerventötende noise versuc I find the last thing. This strap-on generve reminds me of American citizens, who in the states change the side of the pavement and come to me (!!!) to make me aware that I bother you (on this side of the side of the pavement !!!) by my smoking! That’s why I like Europe: I want to kill myself slowly with smoking, because I lack the courage to commit suicide, so please let me eat my airbag too, if I like something like that. once: I really get on every ride, also on the 800, 500 and 30 m distances. But I can’t discover a danger when parking in my garage with the best will, except at most to make a scratch in the paint when getting out (slightly bad)! And if I should be so stupid to push through the kick-down instead of getting on the brakes, I’ll be charged with stupidity anyway and executed and then the airbag suicide is my favorite. Greetings and don’t take it very seriously, but if you know a tip how to display gas beeps and let the warning light flash: give it to me! Christian

OT Monetary advantage
Perhaps not 100% Volvo-specific. I have the EIndruck, however, that post here many who like me pilot a business vehicle. But on the subject: To set up the entire financial chaos the percentage for the money value advantage to be taxed in a business vehicle will be raised from 1% to 1.5% per month. To add to that the next eco-tax round. I ask for your opinion. My formulation repeats the forum rules and would probably be due to inappropriate r choice of words can only be read briefly. Greetings from the XC70-er (in spe) who is considering whether he can afford the car at all before he even has it.

how long? … and how often?
after Oli has answered this question and then did not ask, I just accept the thing. you can have a few buttons on your side, ransom or oli. I then start: preferably at least once a day, better said in the evening. usually with the TV. I have to take care of the future in between, therefore it usually pulls something into the length. do not need to mention that the forum is fun for me. learn through eu Every day something to add. … and always know someone new.

wide winter tires?
at the moment, there is certainly a winter tyre advertisement in here. or? yesterday, I found in one of the bluttering claims from a mature manufacturer that wide winter tyres are better than narrow ones. because of the much wider profile. what do you think? that’s bullshit! or? on one side, there must be enough width to bring the power of propulsion onto the road. on the other side, the pressure on the press takes on the surface. the mature with increasing width. or am I wrong? so, they compared 185er with 245er mature! that’s hardly possible with the same vehicle anyway.

D5 Chiptuning Stress
On my article “Motor bockt” an interesting new topic has emerged. I had a chip tuning installed on my dealer’s recommendation when buying my Volvo D5 ( 11/01). Here we have a tuner on site, which does that. The car then went off pretty well, but was rather rough from the driving behaviour. And for front wheel drive a little too much power. After 10000 km the turbo hose has burst. As a result ( also on the advice of my Volvo dealer ) The car is now being run irreparably due to chip tuning. So far, the car is now being driven by chip tuning. So far, there is no need to “bock” my Volvo dealer, nor Volvo to locate the error and I was 11 times in the workshop, so Volvo and the dealer push the “bock” to the chip tuning that has not been available since 30000 km. ( despite almost completely changed electronics incl. control unit ). so good – no guarantee. Only who repairs this now ?? 2 Werstätten and Volvo say “doesn’t work ???” So VOLVO for DM 90,000,- use a year and then throw away ?? I believe my faithful Volvo belief (have meanwhile the fifth) is quite shaken. For me no other car was possible so far, but at the moment I must look at the competitors. Maybe someone has similar experiences ???
