This week our C30 was the normal service with the friendly. The car has a resevé tire – so no breakdown set. In the work sheet is therefore also crossed out the test of the breakdown set. During the tire pressure test the air pressure was reputably corrected and the four lufdt pressure values also correctly noted. Somehow I lacked the fifth value for air pressure…. so I raised the spare wheel the same evening at the tank stop and checked the pressure: instead of planned 4.2 bar were only 1.3 bar available… obviously not tested for years. (I drive the car only rarely….) Well – I know the master as well as the performing mechanic only as reliable and serious working – and mistakes would be human So: my demand has now revealed that the testing of the spare wheel is excluded from normal service!!! (Pannenset would be, however, as I said, part of the service). We are not talking about the reduced service or even 6+, but wirkli ch from the normal annual maintenance/service service… Well, I started to get excited about and again. But such a kind of guidelines for the implementation – apparently from Volvo-Germany? – results in nausea. There was also no warning on the bill that important work of the customer should be done here please yourself… I will address the boss there once. So I can only advise to check the scope of the tests myself and to check for important things. In the meantime, the check of the tyre pressure in the spare wheel… This certainly gives many satisfied customers and recommendations for the contract workshops of VOLVO Deutschland GmbH. Continue so Best regards, Gerhard v40d

safety in car construction – once again, sometimes different
the sale of the lexus gx 460 was temporarily stopped in the usa, because consumer reports thinks that the car would break out if one was too fast in a curve fæhrt. with other comparable vehicles intervenes because the electronic stabilizer control, something that would not happen at the lexus before the car is almost sebwærts on the road. schøn und gut, that is fæhrlich – but should one really put such inspection? from when is it no longer normal that a monster of au to break into too fast curves? praiseworthy is toyotas reaction, which now probably do everything to write their security scandal in the book of forgetfulness. dear gruss oli

ver-(worse) improvements from one model to the next, experience thread for hardcore-volvisti
At the moment, strategy is discussed everywhere in the forum, what should and can volvo do to address as many (but somehow not too many) customers as possible. this is always a bit cloudy and little concrete. I would be interested to know what those of you who have already had several volvos have noticed from one model to the next for concrete differences that either (long awaited?) improve or even (completely incomprehensible?) recede. real and experienced details, such as seats, light, concrete practical solutions etc. since my transition from “very old” to “old” volvo should not be so interesting for everyone I wait with my insight until tonight… dear gruss oli

Reward calls!!!
Listen, listen … oh you sportsman. I’m on my way to the capital, cruise through the streets, buy me a ball of soft ice (in the leak cup) at Eis-Hennig and find out with horror that a polished wheel pet look (LM look) has been stolen from me. This act was calculated ice coldly by the thief, since all the police forces have been stationed in Mainz at the moment (reason: visit from the US chief). So he had all the time to get away from my favorite. SKAN DAL!!! And so I call on the Volvo family to help me in the search of the culprit. A description of my stolen car-perfection follows: – Radzierblende in LM-look, polished – Size: 15 inch – Design 3 spokes – Original Volvo-Emblem centrally glued Who can give me the decisive tip when searching, should not return home without reward. in this sense Volvo-Dealer

Domstrebe?
Surely one of you can tell me what one actually needs 1 Domstrebe? I know where it is going, but what is meaning and purpose? Is it always installed with a lowering suspension or even alone? Thanks in advance.

Volvo driver goes foreign: driving report hybrid
So, on multiple requests now follows the driving report about the new Lexus GS 450 H. Since I had participated some time ago at the Lexus Forum in Wesel in a driving attempt of various off-road vehicles, I already had the first impression about the driving feeling with hybrid drive. I had expressed at this event the desire for a test drive at the Lexus GS. Last Friday I was able to drive the vehicle about one and a half hours. The car has a keyless operation. Because the vehicle was cold, the next start was in petrol mode. This was unusual insofar as the off-road vehicle with hybrid drive previously driven by me was silently moving through the electric motor when starting. The GS also does this, but only when the vehicle is warm. Interior appearance and the quality of the workmanship are beyond any doubt. Compared to a shorter one, the car has a special feature. This is of course my subjective impression. The vehicle was equipped with all finesse. These are essentially standard in the GS 450 H.; there is only a so-called luxury package, metallic paint and sliding roof on the surcharge list. The vehicle hides its 2 t curb weight quite well in the handling. The electric power steering feels very authentic The motorization of the vehicle is a force. The V6 engine runs very quietly. It is connected via a stepless transmission, on which also the electric motor acts. The interaction of the drive forces is not perceptible for the driver, it is displayed on a corresponding force flow monitor on request. The way the vehicle accelerates is convincing. The electric motor is standing by. a torque beyond good and bad starting from idle speed is available. Acceleration and passage are impressive. In particular, it is impressive with which the lexus brings this force to the road. The vehicle was equipped with a distance control tempomat. This was intuitively operated and worked excellently – like the whole vehicle. The approach to the vehicle in front can be adjusted three stages. The vehicle brakes s I moved the car both under urban conditions as well as on the motorway and over land. I used the power potential several times, but I also drove relatively moderately. It resulted in an average consumption of well below 10 l, which is completely in order for a vehicle of this size with petrol engine and taking into account the required driving performance. The sound system of Mark Levinson makes a reasonable impression. I did not have any CD with me, could only listen to the radio. The playback was spatially well staggered, with airy heights and powerful basses. In recent years I have driven a few vehicles that have impressed me so positively. The only drop of vermouth is the very high price of the vehicle, which The trunk is small because of the batteries placed in it; in contrast to conventional sister models, there are also no charging possibilities available. Conclusion: Lexus has brought the hybrid technology to an impressive technical maturity. The vehicle can be moved with sports car driving performance completely without any problems in everyday life and has a consumption that is really low. These consumption values can be achieved especially in normal use and not under laboratory conditions. Greeting, Hagen

Dre number not constant… swings around in idle 1500-2000 !!!
Hello all, have a Volvo 440 K Built 94 1.8 l (90hp)… For a week the engine spins around… so when I’m idle… the engine is very restless and turns between 1500 – 2000 up and down… so whether you give gas and would take away again… 1. Consumption increases 2. Suizit danger ( that neeeervt really people think already what a nut and gives gas… which I think I want to run..real embarrassing) has got a couple of forums already through… One says throttle cap dirty, one says air mass meters and others again light masks… How can I find out what it really is? and how do I clean the throttle flap, if I just don’t fully expand there but just say pure with cleaning gasoline or brake cleaner or what stuff??? Please help… unfortunately don’t have enough coal for workshop otherwise I wouldn’t be annoying ;-(

And what was that?
Hello, this morning on the way to the office on a federal road section through forest and hallway this happened: Suddenly a hell-knall on the V70 windshield and then smell of burnt. The disc was God’s thanks undamaged! Stopped and a small brown spot discovered at the bottom of the disc. Was wiped off, looked like tiny soot or smudge marks. What was just banged against the disc? Cross-slashes of a hunting rifle from the forest piece or drive beißeil-“Geschoss” from the oncoming traffic? It was probably nothing from the own car, as there were no problems on the further 30 km drive etc.. Greeting Gerd

Survey: Monitor in the car
For the first time with the XC60, VOLVO has installed a dashboard, where the monitor for the RTI no longer sits “on” the dashboard, but becomes a quasi integral component. As discussed in various threads, the path can now split: – continue as before, strict separation audio, RTI and heating control (and everything you could still display) the design in the XC60 is an error OR – in the future, as started in the XC60, one retains the separation RTI and the rest of the vehicle electric motor and lives with the “hole”, if you don’t have RTI OR – if it is true: as usual with other brands, VOLVO should also install a monitor in the future, where different information will be displayed without RTI would be interested in your opinion. I run the survey for 26 days, i.e. until 19.10.08
