My dearest OHL, with quaint attachments, are going to get a dog. They have already locked one in the shelter in their heart. It is a beagle or beagel, no matter. And now the question…. How do you transport the Kö…. ohm dogs into your moose? On the back seat, in the trunk, in an extra box etc.? I don’t want to let my good leather seats ruin… Greeting Heiko

new subforums
Hello, maybe you noticed, from now on we have Unterforen. Our aim was to separate the main forum from model-specific questions/problems and to increase clarity. We hope that you like it and that you make use of it. During the night from yesterday to today many threads and postings have already been changed, the rest will follow today. If a thread is changed wrongly, please send oli or me a PN, it will then be correct. We presenters are just people, too. Should anyone miss a thread or posting: not a single one was deleted or edited by us presenters. Overall, we wanted to improve clarity with the new forums and relieve the main forum. We are happy about constructive comments. So, now continue to have fun in the VOLVO forum! Jürgen, also on behalf of oli

Engine damage V70 2.4 Turbo, after repair higher oil consumption
Moin people, my brother took his V70 into the toilet powerfully: engine code B 5254 T , mileage 125 tkm. After a normal highway ride (about 140 to 160 km/h) the engine suddenly ran only on 4 pots. Ignition problems could be ruled out, compression test returned zero compression on the 2nd cyl.. Head was taken ruter, an outlet valve had burned the plate to a quarter away. The head was repaired, 4 new valves for the 2nd cylinder, all Vent. Scha In addition, the throttle valve was also replaced because the known problems with the Magneti-Marelli part occurred. The first drive after the repair looked good, engine went well. However, we found an oil consumption of 1.5l to 500km. The turbo did not take any damage due to the missing valve plate part, it was not found despite intensive search (CAT, exhaust gas recirculation, Krü The only thing that remained was that the turbo blows out the oil, so the turbo was removed and sent to the Motair company in Cologne. There the loader was dismantled, but nothing was detected except “normal” wear. If the loader is already apart, it is also re-stocked. Only we are slow with the Latin at the end, 3l oil on 1000km is definitely SLEIGHT. Installation errors in the head are practically also excluded, since a professional repair company and a KFZ-M Has anyone got a tip, a special hose, a venting of the engine housing or anything else that could be the problem here? Thanks and greeting Klaus

Mod new purchase
…today at 2:52 am our Julia saw the light of the world. 3780g, 52cm and 36cm head circumference. Nina is well up, despite 24h marathon, of which 15h were labors that did nothing but pain. I just have to get rid of this: I am overjoyed and have had today the most beautiful experience of my life! Greeting Tom

Windscreen wiper – love and care?
Today I changed the windscreen wipers on the Corolla, which was long overdue. An attempt to reanimate them by means of disc detergent at the gas station was only half successful. My neighbour thinks that the care of petrolers is super simple: let the last drop from the pump drip on paper and rub the rubbers in with it. Is that true? What do you do to increase the life of the windscreen wipers? I am always quite happy when I think of the flapping in Frost. . Dear Greetings Oli

Sales figures 2010
Moinsen! The new sales figures of the Volvo pallet are now online… Amazing things can be seen here…https://www.media.volvocars.com/…/Preview.aspx?mediaid=35963 The sales figures of 2008 have been reached again. The low of 2009 is “passé”. The main sales markets are in order of sales figures: USA Sweden Great Britain China Germany In this respect, the first 3 are still the same. China has now overtaken Germany with a margin of 5000 vehicles. (Thanks to the new possibilities of the Chinese market!) In addition, for Volvo the importance of the models in the following order for 2010: XC60 V50 V70 XC90 C30 S40 S60 (old and new!) XC70 S80 V60 S80 Lang C70 One can see clearly which priorities Volvo should set. The V50 is more popular (and almost 10,000 units!) than the wrong way as the popular stamped V70. The S40 sells much better than the S60 (at least 2010!) and the C30, own The number of units is still increasing. Instead of just under 32,500 units, 36,000 units have now been produced and sold. Currently, however, some bad decisions have been made. Among other things, the popular V50 is due to expire and will be replaced by the TEUREREN V60.

Winter Impressions 2010/2011
Dear Volvo community, it’s getting cold, wet and dark again. A few weeks ago there was the first snow in the Alps – sometimes even in the German middle mountains. So it’s time to open the sometimes annual thread for photos from the wonderful winter time. Of course, you’re all invited again this year to take wintery photos with your moose or just to snap a beautiful landscape and upload here. Unfortunately, there were here in the Ruhrgebie so far not even frost, so I can not make a start with pictures. But who already has photos – always with it. Have fun searching for motifs and looking at the photos.

Google-based media/sound system on MY22: Improvement on music on USB stick?
Hello colleagues, with the model year 22, a new, Google-based media/sound system is coming up in the XC60. If you read here in the forum, you often read that with the (still) current system there have been difficulties again and again to present music, which is stored on USB stick, correctly and orderly (especially the folder structure). I would assume that such problems have penetrated in the meantime up to Volvo and that in the course of the conversion to the Google-based System has been able to turn off. I hope for it, because I have structured a 64GB and full of music (see installation), works wonderfully in my current jeep and previously also in a seat. Volvo should do that too. Even if it is still a little early at the moment: Are there any initial findings?

A trend?
Hi, something quite different: I notice that lately the complaints about their Volvo have been increasing, i.e. the critical voices outweigh something at the moment. Know that from other forums other brands here (e.g. VW), you are driven with torches through the village, if you even utter a little criticism. What do you think this is? Does the quality slow down now, does the (Chinese) economy spread, or is it just such a “trend” because one has started. next year there might be a decision for a new one and Volvo, if you take all this 1:1, is not currently such a recommendation. Especially taking into account the EIA.

Next-Gen Sensus with Android Google Maps and Play Store: Android Automotive
The topic we had already encountered in some threads, but now it will be acutely quoted again: Volvo announced today that its next-generation Sensus infotainment system, which will run on Android, will have the Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store embedded within it. Adding Google Maps has some obvious benefits for drivers while the Google Assistant will give users voice control over in-car functions like air conditioning as well as music and messaging. “Bringing Google service s into Volvo cars will accelerator innovation in connectivity and boost our development in applications and connected services,” Henrik Green, Volvo senior VP of research and development, said in a statement. “Soon, Volvo drivers will have direct access to thousands of in-car apps that make daily life easier and the connected in-car experience more enjoyable.” Google and Volvo announced last year that they were teaming up to build Android into future cars. Such a set up will allow drivers to us e their infotainment system independently of their smartphones since the system itself will operate on Android. Volvo says that the first Android-based system will launch in a couple of years. Quote: “plus thousands of additional apps are available through the Google Play Store that is optimized and adapted for Android-based car infotainment systems.”
