  • Volvo Germany -> Please comment on seawater suitability! 😉

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m driving a Volvo and I don’t just feel comfortable in the car, no, I’m also having fun with and on the vehicle. It doesn’t have to be a matter of course nowadays, but as a multi-driver, I’m also committed to the luxury of my car. Now I’m facing a small, self-made problem with my vehicle and ask for your valuable information. It’s about your advertising for the XC70 on your website (see picture in the appendix), more precisely about the thing that This is how you apply for a product property that hardly anyone uses, but which remains “hanging” in the back of the mind of a Volvo XC driver. This is exactly what I would have offered this summer, but which I did not use. It turned out, because I only heard in a survey among other drivers in the tenor that this would be the safe – albeit slow – death for every car. Now, of course, I’m glad not to be in danger there. or are the expected damage to the body so long that these are no longer guaranteed by VOLVO? Or better yet, the Volvo XCs can withstand this burden without any problems? Please inform me now what is the state of the art: Can I chauffeur my XC through the water on the sea beach in the surf, or should I leave my fingers behind? As a responsible driver, I do not do this for the sake of the environment every day and it remains a (one time?) exception, of course, but is not part of my question and please not your answer. Specifically: Does the XC (or another Volvo) suffer more than by normal use under such a saltwater treatment? Are rust damage not expected earlier than in normal driving mode? Volvo assumes the full warranty in the event of a possible saltwater damage to chassis, Bodywork or any other part of the vehicle? Or do you advise not to follow your advertising example? Best regards Torsten – the XC fan (and here are the answers of my buddies to this question 😉

  • Stability of modern Volvos in snow/ice

Hello together I haven’t posted in this forum for a very long time, now I’m here again and this with a special question! It concerns the model S60 (MJ 2004, 2.0T) but should apply to every modern Volvo, so I post in the general forum. We had in the last weeks and months again such real winter weather, and this was for me the first real winter since I have a Volvo, so here is the experience: When I was on a medium snowy St I quickly realized that I started to understeer strongly, even though I hit correctly, I slipped against the outer edge of the curve towards the outside. I was at that moment still max. 25- 30 kmh fast. Then I tried to stabilize the course of the FZG through even stronger steering movement towards the inside of the curve; at that moment the tail broke out after the curve edge and I stopped like this. I was only I was shocked because I was driving very slowly first, and 2. I didn’t expect this reaction (breakout of the rear). Somehow it seems to me that this happened only because of the intervention of the DSTC, because I heard/heard the brake intervention when the steering angle was not the same as the vehicle course. At that moment the Fzg. suddenly broke out. I am very open for ideas, questions and teachings, I am happy if someone can give me information/experiences about it. so long your Moose Driver Winter Greetings Greyhound

  • Volvo jack – isn’t it a little undersized?

Hi together, had played a little bit with the jack yesterday (because you don’t want to unprepared, at night, in the rain a tire damage on the highway and do not know how the jack works ;-). Well, the XC70 with me should be only insignificantly heavier, as e.g. a V70. Or is in the XC90 the same jack – because the XC90 is probably clearly heavier than an XC70. For a V40 it may be enough, … In short, I think the jack is rather e in small emergency toys (better than nothing) … Tschau Torsten – the XC fan (and then rather his ancient oil pump truck lifter out)

  • Heater d5

now it’s a bit colder now and then – you will also have noticed. so every morning I have the standing heater (from the factory). since it’s less about a middle heat stroke than about a preheated motor and slightly defrosted disks, I have set the timer by 20 minutes and switch off the standing heater always manually. nevertheless, after a few meters, I hear that the heater starts. since the standing heater does not seem to have heated the engine block enough but at least the current consumption decreases significantly faster compared to the isolated tomorrow, where I had forgotten the stand heating. then I always insert a short stop in between – my son is dropped off at school. the engine is now at normal operating temperature – at least if I can give the indication to believe. again I hear after a few meters how the heater starts. why this? … and then this late smoke that occurs from time to time. e. my driver got a real scare today. thought immediately, the must burn off or something. did she calm down, then tried to tell her something of modern diesel technology and when I realized that she will not listen any more, added that the onboard computer would show me already, if there was something broken. at all I find the constantly recurring tick-tack from direction fond really lame. there you already have a super comfortable and in the inside room v at the same time quietly to be pointed out by a short-term alarm clock that the poor motoerchen is in sight a bit cold. so, sorry! that definitely belongs to the maengellist for me. (volvo, do you hear me?)

  • Volvo and individuality

Hi people I’ve been driving my Volvo for about 8 months now. An important buying argument against a BMW 5 was also the individuality of the Volvos. But somehow I have calculated myself there. On our company parking lot there are about 80 cars and of them are 2 V70II, 2 V70I, 1 V70II blue, 1 S80 and 2 V40. If I count together the larger BMWs are not much more. Even if I drive around in our 50,000 inhabitants city I notice that there are really many Volvos on the road. ts only in front of me because I have never paid attention to it before but with the ndividuality ises net far away. In front of all black V70 there are many. Do you also have this impression or do I live in Volvocity ??

  • Do you want a volvo van? How “sensuous” is the xc90 for you?

stimulated by struppi (here) and würgen here a double question… does it fit to volvo to launch a van as an opponent of the vw t4? would volvo thereby undermine the concept of the combi or does both have nothing to do with each other? is for you the xc90 already a kind of van – on stilzen? how meaningful is your opinion a large and design-related much sprit swallowing vehicle? irreplaceable for the brand volvo or superfluous modegehabe? has the implementation of the xc90 volvo-gemæß succeeded? vie le ask, maybe many answers… dear greetings, oli

  • VOLVO-Germany supplies LPG-Fzge. via the German dealer, provided the customers it

Written by Ulrich Frank (FRANK-SCAN-AUTO) on February 08, 2003 11:56:34: wish. I turned to VOLVO-Germany in early January to clarify the delivery possibilities of LPG vehicles in Germany. The background was a commitment on the occasion of the Michelin-Callenge-Bibendum by the head of the Abt. Special vehicles for the delivery of just these LPG vehicles by German VOLVO dealers. Answer by the management of Sales VOLVO-Germany from February 03, 2003 : Quote : First I would like to point out that although the LPG vehicles mentioned by you are not part of the current sales program of VOLVO Car Germany GmbH and are therefore not offered by us. However, this does not exclude that we obtain the vehicles from our sister companies on individual request from our dealers, if the end customer wishes the delivery. This has already happened in the past. In this respect, we also meet all the requirements of GMOs. Quotation end. It is up to us to decide whether the vehicles will enter the market. In theory, all other manufacturers would also have to do so in order to comply with the GMOs. Greeting Ulrich Frank http://www.frank-scan-auto.de

  • iPod in V70: The built-in thread

Hello MT-ler, here comes the picture history for the installation of the US iPod adapter in the V70 with connection in the compartment of the center console. My thanks go to TOPI76, who had the good tip with Bosto Volvo Village and to John S. of Bostonvolvo, who gave supernett all the information, got the shipping super fast on the line and always promptly responded to all the still so stupid e-mails. So: First you find in the English written instructions all the steps well described. Since all types (S60, V70, XC70 and S80, with Navi, without Navi and with US satellite radio Sirius) are in a guide. If you understand IKEA instructions, you get this in turn. If you don’t want to leave the cable in the trunk, but rather put it in the middle compartment, you have to disassemble half the AUto. Then it looks like this in between:

  • sciencel. proof: doing things other than driving a car is dangerous!
