Hi together, after I not only became aware by the MT that most (not all!) Volvo GT drivers (sounds good, right? 😉 don’t use the beautiful GT at all, but let this expensively paid feature be gammeln in front of me – I wanted to devote myself (who also does not use the GT for manual switching) to a small additional feature of the GT (or any other automatic): the engine brake. Brake lining and disc cost money – the wear of the engine by motor brake In addition, you learn to drive more carefully, because the GT does not always work as a motor brake. It’s a lock installed (only in the D5 or do the petrol engines also?), which prevents the D5 from turning too high by switching it down too early. It’s embarrassing, if I actually need the motor brake very important, because the brake is down, I can’t use the engine brake either. I have to brake before I can then use the engine brake. Isn’t it a good idea, isn’t it? The only learning effect (as I have just written before) is that you learn to drive more forward-looking to use the engine brake (is not only a positive effect because of the fuel prices). Before I oli now with a further change of speed, I’ll be able to use the engine brake. age annoying: Who uses the engine brake constantly and routinely? Who doesn’t? And why? That’s why my summary: Motor brake in the D5 GT can only be used with very discreet driving – only when driving I can gently brake “normal” 😉 Your opinion? Good ride! Torsten – the XC fan (and sometimes needs a brake 😉

Controversy : VOLVO – outdated technique or back_to_the_roots !?
Greetings to all moose breeders, I have been rubbing my eyes in the last few days, when I read some Freds : Here 2 highlights : – The Swabbeltronikers are thrilled, because they can move your stone age swabbed mats with intermediate gas to the engine brake when switching down – in manual mode well noticed ….. I had my down turn with Zwischengas before – with unsynchronized gears. Whereby the sense of the automatic anyway is fluted, if only or often the manual G ace is used !? – Enthusiast storms over Parrot-Blue Tooth retrofits for mobile phone with separate speaker ….. Since I am more easily technical horror – these are technical solutions from 10 years ago – where remains the integration into the system, or the electr. side noise filter ? – Also the latest generation of RTI suffers from permanant transmitter forgetfulness, which also update-cilllin seemingly not cures No comment ……. to be continued ……. Additional prosthetics in Premiumelchen u and that as a “series” ?? time to think something … the eMkay thinks

Nederland=Volvoland???
I just returned from NL and have a direct question: Are the relative registration numbers for Volvos, especially for the V- and XC models in the Netherlands significantly higher than in D? I had spent my holiday on Terschelling and what I saw on the island at V’s and XC’s ‘run around ‘was already noticeable. Or did they all show up there just because this is an island that is very popular for family holidays, and such a moose a family nkutsche ist? Although I also had the impression of seeing relatively more elks in NL during the return journey. Greeting (Groetjes) DeWeDo – polylingual

Accident experiences Volvo …
Hi together, we always talk about the safe Sweden in this Volvo Forum. The motto “Volvo for live” is on my key chain. The Volvos are called Swedes Tanks. I have collected some great pictures of Volvo XC70 in special coatings (police, fire brigade, …) – but – someone has seen a wrecked Volvo? Please (!!) don’t misunderstand me now. I don’t want to see any accident photos with injured or even dead (which is why I drive (also w for my many kilometers) yes extra Volvo). Just for the sake of interest the desire to see how a Volvo (most of all of course a V70, XC70, …) looks like a crash test. What remains safe, what is not. How stable is the passenger cell really, … etc. Has someone even had an accident with his Volvo (and can report about it? with photo?) and can now swear thankingly on the Swedes plate – almost from experience. Us all (and also the others!) always good drive .-) Tscha u Torsten – the XC fan
