  • Are your elks fit for winter???

Hello to each other! The winter is approaching, we have already experienced, therefore my question: Have you already made your vehicles winter-proof or do you let it do so? Here 10 tips: Tip 1: Switch to winter tyres in good time. Tip 2: Pay attention to the age of the WR Tip 3: Snow chain training from dry training to cold emergency if you don’t make it at home with warm fingers, you won’t make it with cold. Tip 4: Freeze protection for coolers Tip 5: Freeze protection for windscreen washing system Tip p 6: Preparing for frozen locks Tip 7: Rubber care and wiper exchange Tip 8: Care for the “auto-skin” thoroughly wash and hard wax for sealing Tip 9: Vulnerability Battery Tip10: Start behavior in winter Spark plugs and glow plugs with diesel For vehicles with catalyst generally applies: it does not start after a few start attempts, then the vehicle should be towed off, otherwise there is the risk that the cat will be exposed to unburned fuel. What do you say? Greetings Funky

  • behind the wheel

The top line model at the magnum is at 30,000 USD. For this, you have a combination with 250hp and most of what you never need. And we? you pay 45,000 euros for such a V70 T5 and is happy because it is much more educational than audi/merceds/bmw. THAT’S UN RIGHT. WHERE DOES THE POLICIES?? I’M LAWYING!! I WANT TO BE LIKE A BILLY CAR!! I demand a law that every one of you has to do with it. In order to ensure equal opportunities, you can introduce a spare parts maintenance levy (similar to oil). Rapace – which unfortunately can afford to drive exoten

  • Diesel as a company car or better not?

Hello everyone, when it’s about the company cars with the colleagues in the company, is always hotly discussed. “Sprit doesn’t matter, the box has to be fun, etc.” (you understand what I mean?) Actually I was about to order a D5 (currently private elch V70 2.4 103kw) Then I arrived at Frankfurt Airport on Sunday evening and thought at the Sixt switch: Ask if they also have a V70. The nice young lady crawled briefly in the keybox and said: But is a diesel, if that would be ok? Of course, I said and nothing how high into the parking garage and looked forward to 3 days test drive at company costs with nem D5 (new, ca: 1000km, switch + everything inside, but unfortunately no RTI, too bad) Well, what should I say, nice to drive, but a little unleaded I was already: From FFM -> Darmstadt: Tacho not to get over 210, if I drive privately I often manage on the track to the limiter (Tacho 220) On the next day: motorway drive up so high with 80, third gear, in front of me Mondeo TDCI. Highway was empty, so right on the left and the Ford times show what thing is (and of course small test for me 🙂 Pustekuchen: Until about 180 did not even come at the same height. Only at 200 then I passed laaaaagsam. Well, I was somehow not so convinced: Well the question: the fuel plays really no role in the company car, so it is clear what one chooses: the 2.4 with 125kw, faster to 100, drives real 220, and cheaper ( It is also a good advantage to control money worth. Or add thousands more to the D5 price and drive 2.5T. Or not? I am always grateful for good aguments. Best greetings from the Ruhrpott, PRT

  • Overtake psychological!?

I noticed that more and more idiots overtake me in order to get slower before me, since I sanded away the rust at waltzraud and black spots decorate the orange paint – the car looks like on the way to the verwerter. also I remember that the daewoo matiz (which I had a week to buy) behaved much more aggressively about the mobile world outside the windows than that with the kia shuma was the case. my driving style however was at The latter of the same and I also drive now no different than before grinding rust. have you already to notice similar things? or, also passive, when changing from what-even-always to volvo? dear gruss oli

  • HU 650 and CD-RW?

As you have often discussed, there are difficulties with the Volvo radios and mp3 files. I like listening to audio books that are available on CD in mp3 format until now. If there is no easy solution (adaption of an external device to the control unit from the CD changer or the like) then I would make the effort and burn the audio books to CD-RW (Harry Potter, Volume 5 = 27(!!) CD’s :-). If any of you have with the new generation of Volvo devices (Harry Potter, Volume 5 = 27(!) CD’s :-). already had corresponding experiences and can therefore tell me whether these CD-RWs can play? Greetings from Stefan

  • Do xenon elks shine differently??

Hello you clever moose drivers! In January 03, the Autotouring newspaper published a test regarding modern car headlights in which the elk eyes of the V70 were not exactly cheered. I quote: “The only reflection system with Bi-Xenon in the test. And so the technology with the mirrored headlight inner housing does not convince: neither range nor the shangled distribution of the dipped beam convince; the driving beam is strong, but strenuous. “What do the technical freaks know about the advantages and disadvantages of this system compared to others and is it also installed in the current/coming MJ?? lg Richardwww.autotouring.at/archiv/export/J%E4nner_2003/at_index.html

  • cooling water change on b19a; interpret manual

I urgently have to change the cool water from waltraud, because I have been driving exclusively with water since juni – and now use Nachtfrøste, as I noticed at the end of the week. in the manual it says, I have to put something on “warm”, if I understand this correctly, the lueftung!? a screw on the right side – to be clearly recognized on the drawing, in which realitæt is not yet discovered – as well as the lower hose on the large luefter/kuehleinheit front must be geløst. there after it’s just time to fill up again. Does everything just come out like that? what is meant by the “warm” position!? and maybe I even have to have the motor on so that the water can run out??? 100% technique-laie… I am especially grateful for an answer before 13:00, otherwise I just try and read after what I might have done wrong… dear gruss oli

  • Poland lowered mineral oil tax – and now?

About a week ago Poland reduced the mineral oil tax by about 6 cents/litres. The decision is limited until 31.12.2005. What happened at the pumps? Example Diesel: The price rushed down by six cents at the beginning of last week, from 96 cents to 90 cents. Price gap with Germany (Cottbus) increased from 13 cents/litres to 19 cents/litres. And now it becomes interesting. In Cottbus, the price increased by 2 cents/litres within a week. In Poland by 12 cents/litre. price question: Who is the higher Polish margin than profit? And which duo now has even less in the cash register? The cucumber – refuels because of the value added tax in Germany

  • Volvo (among others) in China – and me live!

Hello everybody. I’ve been home for a few days. Back from a 3-week China tour. And of course I took some pictures there. And by chance there are cars on it! On some Volvos as well! Isn’t that great? But so that I don’t waste the forum here, with the data, I put it on my own Volvo page. Does such a thread violate the rules? I hope not … China is a very impressive one anyway. In order to stay with the car theme: the traffic is the hammer. Overtaking the right is normal. However, it is also the case, if someone drives on the left, he drives left and apparently stays there forever. So things, like letting threading there is not at all. That’s why it is pressed into every gap. Krass. But also funny to look at, if you don’t have to drive yourself. For the conditions I have actually seen few accidents. And then only so patrol shots, to the there nn but apparently big theater is made, because the accident vehicles with the few scratches were in any case left so, the rest of the traffic also has what of it – traffic – namely… Have fun with the pictures! lg, fib

  • Dramaturgy or reality: Film scene with braking manipulation – how far from reality?

Hi together, in the film it is easy and there is that a car, which at the front left side of the fender is slightly bent on a wall, immediately performs a self-resolution in a huge explosion. We have learned that in reality the auto-ignition of the car is extremely unlikely in the event of an accident – although it can happen sometimes. What does this look like when the brake line is manipulated? In the film, the villain simply cuts through the brake lines under the car, all Hydra The “good guy” then drives wildly and kilometers later, at the next pass into the valley he suddenly notices the defect. I think (hope) that our relatively new Volvo would show such a defect due to heavy blinking and twitching in the amaturary board and even a ride would techn. prevent, wouldn’t it? What does a new Volvo do with cut brake lines? Good ride! Torsten – the XC fan (and, no – I don’t try that out and do also kei a photo of it ;-)) Example from the film scene. Or even in the scene 😉 But it seems that you can repair brake lines extremely easily ;-)))
