  • Driving licence valid for only 15 years

Hello dear MTlers! Allegedly, the driving licence should only be valid for 15 years due to an EU directive. However, the old ones would still apply until 2033. There should also be no health examination necessary for the extension. (What in my view makes the whole project look quite pointless – there would have been a field in the identity card and the police probably have access to a current passport photo anyway.) On the other hand, you can also ask yourself whether the n Is it an entry into a system with a health test? It doesn’t take a lot of imagination for it to be a particularly unpleasant occasion, which then triggers a discussion going on. So if this thing comes for everyone, because Germany is still in the EU until then, then it is not unlikely that it will come with a built-in health test, especially a vision test. What do you think of it?

  • >>> Flashed with the mark in Austria – how to go on ?!?!

Hello people! I very often drive a certain route in Austria (with German license plate). And admittedly, there I often drive about 140-150kmh instead of the 130kmh – not much too fast, but like most others too – so that I can just “swimm” in traffic. Now I have heard that if one is flashed in Austria, there can be complications, because: Usually one is flashed from behind. If the photo is sent to Germany, then according to German law always the Now I got a parking ticket last week because of driving too fast (allegedly sometime in November), and also today another one (from the beginning of December). My problem is now this: Since I have been driving this route so often since September 2004 (1-2 times a week), it may be that I have a new letter in the Postkastl every 2 weeks. And that can’t be that I have to make a nice €20-€50.- now every 2 weeks ?! And what bothers me the most: The tickets are almost half a year late. I’m sitting there stupidly, and I can get maybe 20 more. I’d be happy if someone would help me. MfG, yb

  • License plate number how high/low?

Hello, wanted to know how high or deep you can attach marks, goes mainly around front. But much more important, how much attention is paid to it? Tüv? Race management?

  • Year-round VS summer/winter tyres

Hello! I’ve already looked in the help, but it was as always out of function! I don’t want to break a winter tire discussion from the fence!!! Because now I’m about to decide what to do with my tires in autumn. At the moment, i.e. for the next 3 months I drive 2,500 km a month, a lot of BAB with me. The Twingo now has 40,000 km, the front tires don’t look so beautiful anymore (it’s probably only been moved in the city center traffic before, turned with servo on the spot or something like that) The winter tires on steel rims from Astra (175 R 13) have a different hole measure (?) and do not fit. Very bad, because they are only 1 1⁄2 years old and have still 6 or 7 mm. Found a tyre dealer who would take them in payment. One problem less, because with ebay or on the black board you will not get rid of them. What should I do? I love with all-year tires. Goodyear Vector 5 have actually done quite well in tests and on the consumer pages (Ciao.com). The rubber compound has to withstand a lot. Everything from -15 to + 40 degrees is actually there. The constant conversion, the costs for storing and the new investment for steel rims speak against the summer/winter duo. Besides, I will probably only drive the car for 2 years and sell, BEFORE the repairs start. So, who has experience with all-year tires? Ahoi Tex

  • Periods of limitation, due to errors of the authority

Hello, I would need a little help regarding a limitation period in the road traffic regulations. I asked the road traffic office my score, but I found that I had been flashed too much outside on 10.06.12 at an excessive speed 27km/h (following 3points and fine 80€+ handling fee), I didn’t know if it was me, but I didn’t get any notice or hearing about it from the city until today, where I also got a copy of the report. l the fine etc. must be in it. Additional information from the letter of the KBA: Date of decision 18.07.2012 /Date of jurisdiction 21.08.2012 on 11.12.2012 I called the city and asked questions, and came out that they made a mistake with the address at the city (false address, a mixture of my old and new address), but the correct one is and was then deposited, i.e. the address does not exist, where all letters have been sent. The employee told me that the penalty notice will be sent to the right address afterwards, and I have to pay these payments. However, I don’t see this, because if I hadn’t made the request to the KBA and I hadn’t noticed it, they would never have noticed it. Now to my question: I found the following on various internet sites: “The limitation period of an irregularity in road traffic is 3 months, but only, sola If this is the case, the limitation period lasts 6 months. ́ ́ Source http://www.bussgeldkatalog.biz/verjaehrung.html See also: http://www.dingeldein.de/veroef/veroef32.htm For me, this is clear, which I have not received notice until today about 6 months after the act was committed, so the penalty period is limited or not. Ask for urgent help in this regard.

  • Accident this morning on the A4 near Cologne…

Although it doesn’t necessarily have to do with the topic of Porsche, it is nevertheless worth mentioning in my opinion… This morning on the way to work the A4 direction of Cologne was already fully blocked, which is why I drove through the city. Since I still had something to do, I had to go some time later on the A4 in the opposite direction. Still full lock, was really not a beautiful sight – a small car, could not see in passing which factory, from a truck he pictures are now available on the Internet. The woman in the Touran, who was standing directly behind the dived, reacted correctly and has fled at the last moment, was also still hit however survived, the truck driver is only slightly injured! How much still has to happen until something changes with regard to trucks at last? I myself for my part never go up to the end of the traffic, delay sc hon far before and observes the back traffic – in order to be able to react even in doubt and to keep me free “fleece paths”. Can’t people understand the high speed towards the end of the traffic, without warning blinker and then even mobile phone at the ear or otherwise distracted, if it then they get caught by the back anyway not with it any more. Again a sad reason to keep distance at/from the end of the traffic and not only to direct the eyes forward.

  • Urgent request to overtake:

Those who overtake me on the BAB, please make the safety distance to me BEFORE re-insserting. Have already enough stone strokes of which the with 3m distance in front of me in the bonnet and in rain I do not like to stand every time in a spray wall. Thank you!

  • Two-lane left turner

You can see it again and again: change of track on the two-lane left turn, cutting the curve or people who simply can’t keep their track. Especially striking are those who come from counties where these turnouts don’t exist at all. Therefore, for example, many of the Bergisch Gladbacher driving schools drive in to Cologne to practice that – with them these turnouts don’t exist. But also the Cologneers are not better with us – only do it according to experience purposely and without backwardness My most intense experience: I drive on the inner side of the curve, i.e. left, with 2-3 vehicle lengths distance to the front man. To the right of me was a car and in front of it was another one. My sideman suddenly steps full on the gas, pulls over on my track, so that I and all those behind me had to put down a full brake. After he had completed his illegal and ruthless overtaking process and had forced several people to complete braking, he pulled wi At the next traffic light he was standing next to me. I then put down the window to give the guy a proper voice, but he just turned up his radio and closed his window. I was about to get out armed with my mag-lite when I noticed that two people had already come before me – and that was a civilian patrol, who watched everything. I still asked if they needed me as a witness. I saved the ad because I was in a hurry and I could be sure that he would get his fair punishment. Finally, the right guy got caught.

  • Death at the end of the dam

You should – when you see that everything is braking and standing in the front – slowly drive towards the end of the traffic jam, turn on the warning signal system and keep an eye on the rear traffic The biggest problem is probably sleeping truck drivers, see photo.Do you have any applicable tricks to avoid being crushed by a truck? I would, if necessary, flee via the stand lane or into the green …
