Quotation: “A scene like from a thriller. A normal tour on the highway. Suddenly the car gets faster and faster, can no longer be stopped. Now a driver has lived through this nightmare in France. For about an hour the man chased over the road with a speed of 200.” Source: Spiegel Online what would interest me: braking?, clutch? or what does this look like for example with an automatic?

Who’s blinking?
In recent times, German motorways have seen more and more drivers who seem to think: “When I blink, then I have an advance”. There are no signs of a lane without the driver driving on the left lane. The main thing is to the left, no matter if the rear man has to brake and there are still several hundred meters up to the obstacle. You could not get to the obstacle on the left lane anymore. And when you bang it then, surely it’s called “I’ve been blinking.” There is no room for changing lanes, you have to wait. Furthermore, you can observe that more and more drivers leave their lanes in order to allow others to thread in from the acceleration strip. Actually a good thing, but since it is not a duty, no other driver on the left track should be forced to brake.

Police with Camcorder??
Hey. When I am at work today, the police stood at the exit of the village in a driveway. 2 people with a camcorder, fixed on a tripod. It was such a camcorder, which you have at home, to film on vacation, on weddings ect. What do they do with it? With that you can certainly not measure speed? What else was there not, I looked with the eyes the immediate surroundings. They were not even 50m away from the entrance sign. And normally they are standing nevertheless on the side, where the cars drive out into the place? They were standing out, but they “filmed” the cars driving in… Does anyone have an explanation for that? They do funny things at the moment anyway…overtake 2 cars in the city!!! (so the cops drive too fast), look me in the car, joke in front of me, blink at the next intersection and turn around again…

Trucks at a motorway exit
Yesterday I had to take a detour because of a truck column before a motorway exit. According to Navi it was still 1.5-2 km (I don’t know exactly) until my exit. Then I saw a number of trucks. They all drove very closely together and with almost no safety distance. From my point of view I could not estimate exactly how long the row will be and thought to myself: You can still do that, are still 2 km. So I drove on the left track w until I noticed that this would go still 3-4 km further. I already gave up and didn’t blink on the right and tried to get on the right track even 1 km before, because I certainly couldn’t have managed it until the exit. It would have been quite dangerous to classify myself there. Until the trucks had created a gap for me it would have been too late anyway. So I was forced to drive almost 6-7 km to the next exit. On the further way there were also many trucks on the way, but these kept the sufficient distance at least so that I could switch to the right lane in time before the exit. Then of course arrived only half an hour later, but the risk of cutting the trucks just before the exit was too great for me. Who had similar or similar experiences? And how did you deal with the situation?

OT: decommissioned vehicle: letter not correctly registered?
Moin, I bought my car in the middle of May. The car was temporarily shut down, I re-registered it. At the registration I was now correctly registered as a holder and everything – only, as I noticed today, the stamp and the date for re-opening is missing in the field “decommissioning” – so there is a set-down stamp, but no re-opening stamp, which the registration office probably missed, or I didn’t get that clearly enough gt (even if the green paper, which makes the decommissioning clear, has been removed from the letter etc.) The real problem now is that I am currently doing about 500km from home civilian service, with six-day week, so hardly at a time at home and near my registration office, at which it opened. Otherwise I would just call and pass there and then clarify this personally. Could there be any consequences, if the car so to speak not 100% wi I mean, FZ notes and co. did I, license plates, insurance… I suppose they just forgot to document the re-entry in the letter with a stamp. Is that, sometimes quite stupidly asked, important for something? Timely critical? Then I would have to send the letter possibly by post, together with a proxy for my mother, home… MfG, HeRo P.S: There is still such a lack of a “authorization-traffic law-car-buying- Administrative Forum

GPS traffic safety
Moin Everything is built into the cars/sold for safety, it is a real advertisement among the providers, e.g. who has how much airbags or who does how well in accident tests, whose driving assistant is the best etc. What I am surprised about is the following: Almost every modern new car has a navigation device on board which can track the GPS satellites to determine speed and location. The device also knows how fast you can drive where and warns the driver. rer. Why is this information not coupled with the motor control? That is, where 100kmh is allowed to be regulated at 100kmh, at 50, at 30, at 70..usw… The map material of the Navis is regularly updated, would have to work, wouldn’t it? That would be a cheap safety gain, I guess 50cent/Fzg, and no one drives too fast anymore. The radar traps could at some point all pack up if all Fzge have such a device, still takes 20 years. The next step would be to connect all the GPS-Fzge with each other, who drives just where how fast, then you could also regulate the distances, nobody drives closer than allowed, would be great or? This of course restricts the freedom of the driver a little bit but when we had to buckle up also nobody asked for the “freedom”, the highly praised safety should be worth it. Gruss Willy

My 1er has zero grip and slips away to all possible sides 🙁
Hello together, today was again a horror day for me. I come from Düsseldorf, so now not from the deepest snow-covered Upper Bavaria. Today I wanted to drive home from the university, and had to be terrifyingly noticed that my Einser once again had very little grip. A slight tapping of the brake has already been enough that the 1er slipped around uncontrollably. Also when changing track he lost control … a classic smooth ice situation. He is even today to a The other people could ride reasonably decently. I then sneaked home at 10 km/h and am very pissed. Winter tyres are brand new. Recently, I always test the grip … so just touch the brake to see how much grip I have … usually it slips SOFORT. Is this the wrong approach? Should I ignore this? Or would you even recommend snow chains to me Are you afraid to drive the 2 km to my family tomorrow 🙁 That was really bad today.

get on the streets?!?
Hi so I experienced something this morning, which has made me quite stunned. it seems to me that, at the moment, it was like a war on the roads between the car drivers… this morning, on the way to school, overtaken a golf. regularly on the fast lane. then when I was joking, and the road was only two-lane, I saw in the rear mirror how a mercedes rushed through. in the overtaking ban. when it was past me I almost did not have anything more to do with it. the road makes a long right turn, which is opaque. opposite traffic has 2 lanes. the benz shears out in absolute overtaking ban and uses the overtaking track of the opposite traffic to overtake two more cars. the front was a box car, which he probably had to cut because of the incoming opposite traffic. well… he then rang through so merrily. then when on my track again a overtaking track came, I set to overtake the cars. when I next the box car was (which was cut by the mercedes) he is squatting over, kicking on the gas and braking me out on the fast lane, so that I have to hit the brake and behind him again. and to the crowning conclusion he has turned on his nsl. I have not seen any connection in my overtaking process and his reaction, because I have not come dangerously close to him, or could not have overtaken him in time. I then easily excited about it and have n bitsl rumge mault behind my steering wheel. but: WHAT SHOULD THAT?!?! on the road alone last week 2 accidents happened, and that was guaranteed because he came out of the kfzraum, just like me. only, you have to do at this season, where the roads are not always safe anyway and it can suddenly become smooth, unnecessarily put yourself and others in danger or even provoke further accidents? and beyond that even without an obvious misbehavior on my part in this situati on? maybe he was also a little agitated because of the mercedes, but you have to leave it out to other traffic participants who have nothing to do with the previous one? I understand such a behavior nciht, and unfortunately can only shake with the head… sry, wanted to get rid of this here and maybe hear your opinions about it… mfg..

Motor braking effect of the four-stroker – does anyone else know how to use it meaningfully?
Hi, admittedly, the title of this thread seems a bit provocative, but what I have experienced in my Austrian holiday in series this year makes me believe in certain deficits in driving school training. Since vehicles drove down passport roads and stood three quarters (!) of the track on the brake. That not one or the other in the lower part has landed in the guardrails because of braking fades seemed like a miracle to me. Others in turn turned out the gears between two turns, around before every turn to convince yourself of the effectiveness of their ABS… Is it no longer taught today in the driving schools that one should go down a mountain in the same aisle in which one went up? That then before every turn easy tapping of the brake is sufficient? That among these “permanent brakes” also coaches were to be found, seems to me particularly worrying.

Car sold by private, buyer wants to return car, is that possible?
I have sold our transporter 10 years old from private to private. 2 days later. Achsaufhänung (strong rust) broken. Buyer wants to make use of the right of withdrawal. In the purchase contract car sold as “bastler vehicle” and “bought as seen”. Ohen property defects liability and without warranty. So preprinted purchase contract out. And the buyer already speaks of legal protection and lawyer. purchase price 1050 €. Repair costs 500 € Does anyone have an idea where the trip goes?
