  • Online connection for the car

Hello Forum! (yes, the title may still be “optimized”) My previous vehicles were all “offline” and only had contact with GPS for the purpose of navigating to the outside world. As an “online car owner” I still have a few start problems or understanding questions. The forum here contains a lot of information, but partly contradictory and distributed everywhere. I start with: – Do I need an LTE stick or would an LTE stick be better than the coupling over the smartphone? – If so, which stick should I take and how much data volume goes over it – or better: what’s going on? I don’t think the Navi card updates, do I? 😉 – App-Connect offers (only) the possibility to operate certain (!) apps of the smartphone by language/touch, right? – Volkswagen-Connect is a Bluetooth dongle and delivers (only) vehicle data to the smartphone? – Google Maps runs on the smartphone and only the display is placed on the display of the car? – D he emergency call function is completely independent of all the above mentioned “Features”? – Uh, did I forget something?

  • Traffic sign identification T Cross

the traffic sign recognition in the NAVI display does not always show the correct signs, sometimes even nothing at all. VW Werkstatt says that this is a known error, but it is not repairable. Since this lack of assistance is considerable for me and can also become expensive (fines) I have resigned from the contract and am now waiting for the return processing. Has anyone from you experience on this topic?

  • Switching paddles Switching paddles

Hello, on the T-Cross (Style 150 hp) there are shifters behind the steering wheel. 1. Is it right that when using these webs the display “M” in the middle of the tachometer means “manual” and this setting makes sense, especially in mountain descents, to use the motor brake function? 2. Does it make sense to use these shifters for braking (e.g. in front of red lights) to save the brake blocks? Is the wear of the clutches in the gearbox ultimately more expensive , as the wear of the brake blocks on the wheels? Greeting Jan

  • All gears block at cold start!

Hello Together, since December 13, 2023 a new T – Cross with 81 KW / 110 HP. At first there were no problems with the circuit until suddenly before about 2 weeks during the frost period in the morning the circuit completely failed at the cold start and could not be switched on any more gears. Only after repeatedly switching on and off the ignition solved the blockade. The problem lasts until today had an appointment at a contract workshop on the 17th JANUAR. I was curious if they find the error!

  • Card update via USB stick?

Since October 2019, I have been the owner of a brand-new T-Cross, which was changed during the production phase in Model 2020. Navi-SW was onboard and I successfully completed the update of the card material offered on 07.11.19 in November 2019. Since then, I have been waiting for another update in vain. However, an update of 15.06.2020 has been offered for some time, but only for T-Cross year 2020. Problematic for mi ch is that this update is now carried out via a USB memory stick (before SD card). Apart from the fact that an update stump of over a year should probably be indisputable, I am not sure if I can carry out an update now via a USB stick and would be happy about an experience report on your part.

  • T-Cross Travel Assist and the traffic signs

Hi guys, I have a question about the Travel Assist and the traffic signs. When I was informed about the T-Cross before I bought it, I read here in the forum that the Travel Assist can also adjust the speed to traffic signs. However, that doesn’t do to me. There is also no menu item Travel Assist under Assistants – Setup. Recently I also read that one should activate predictive driving there. Does any of you possibly have an idea? My T-Cross is a demonstration scale n EZ 07/22, 1.5L R-Line. I think I’ve got it all with me at assistants. IQ-Drive, Travel Assist, Traffic Sign Detection etc. And I’m also registered as a main user. Thanks and greetings Chris

  • T-Cross dimensions and suitcase

Hello everybody, what are the approximate dimensions of the trunk? The dealer of my trust doesn’t have a T-cross at the moment, otherwise I would have measured it myself. Unfortunately, a Google search didn’t produce an image with the dimensions either… Thank you for your help.

  • Car-Net App Connect vs. LTE Stick vs. Smartphone

Even in case you laugh now, I still ask the question: To use all the possibilities of the smartphone via App Connect as well as Guide&Inform it makes more sense: a) to pair the smartphone via Bluetooth b) to additionally use an LTE carstick c) to release smartphone via Bluetooth AND as WLAN hotspot Or????? I don’t see it all yet and maybe someone can create enlightenment here. Also if you choose e.g. variant c, with every coupling of the Sm artphones via Bluetooth would have to re-set the WLAN release as a hotspot (use a Samsung Galaxy S9) Further questions: -If LTE Stick, which SIM card is needed? -How much data volume do you need on average for Guide&Inform at approx.2000 km per month (city, country, traffic jam…) -Spotify I want to use via Car-Net app and have a Musicflat with Vodafone * hopefully works like with other vehicles also via Bluetooth connection or I have to use smartphone with nen cable mi t connect the T-cross? Have the Comfort telephone interface ordered with inductive charging function. Please don’t smile. I’m not as compliant as online In my Crossi, next to Discover Media, the App-Connect with VW Media Control (the Data Plug for using the VW Connect is already included in the scope of delivery and is connected to the bottom left side of the steering wheel)

  • Year-round tyres or prefer summer tyres

Good day, my last decision regarding the tyres is about to be made before the vehicle is ordered this week. Actually, I wanted all-year tires, which I drive at the moment, but they are already quite heavy: Hankook Kinergy. Especially because the fuel consumption has increased as a result. But also the unwinding comfort, curve behaviour and much more is considerably better with summer tires. But that on the edge. At the T-Cross you can only choose a rim, which is not so great, nämli ich die “Chesterfield”. Since I can also leave the vehicle standing in wintery road conditions, even for weeks no problem, it is rarely wintery here, I am faced with the choice to leave these all-year tires away and to drive summer tires all year round. Experts and tests say yes, that these are clearly superior. Instead, I like the Manila rims with summer tires very well, by far even best. Greetings?

  • Switching from Tiguan 2 FL to T-cross

Hello together , Currently I drive a Tiguan 2 Facelift with DSG 150 HP petrol. I like the T-Cross since its appearance extremely well. The 1.5 liter petrol DSG is probably also available in the T-Cross. I have my current Tiguan as an airline inside and outside. I like the car very well and rides absolutely great. I drive 95% alone and 90% city. Only for the holiday the car is moved on the highway. Now I think to change from the Tiguan to the t-cross. Is there anyone here who has already done this and wants to share their experiences and advantages and disadvantages in this regard? Many greetings from Herne von Mika
