Hello, I wish everyone a happy new year. I wanted to start the days from my parents the car with a starting aid cable and the pliers are broken. So time for a new 🙂 The length or shortness had always disturbed me anyway and since I now have a garage, drive in there more often forward, the new cable should be long enough to be able to give in case of a start aid. Had thought about about about 7m, but found in the length nothing appealing, probably but in 9m length. Before I buy, I wanted to ask if there are any other suitable recommendations or objections? The start-up support cable has no overvoltage protection like some others, but what I have read can be neglected or later retrofitted.https://www.panther-batterien.de/product-details/start-up support cable-gweu970.html

Find a very special clip…need your help
Hello to all screwdrivers I usually travel with the Volvos. Since these rarely break, I am rarely in the tool forum. Today I have to report. I am looking for a very special hold clip that holds a grid in a bumper. Unfortunately, no part number is to be determined. At Volvo it is no longer available. It is about the Pos 35 on the explosion drawing. I photographed the thing as well as I could. if someone had a reference to it source or an alternative article knows, I would be very happy about information. I wish everyone a good start, hopefully better new year. Greetings Thomas

MacGyver Box for the trunk – pack what?
Hello guys, I’ve always had a little MacGyver box in the car for years. At least on long trips. And when I went on vacation to the camping. Now I’m putting together a bigger MacGyver box. The box is supposed to enable a technician to repair everything that gets under his finger. Such a kind of ADAC for any technical problem. So not just for cars. What would you pack in there? Gruss W.

Assortment boxes / storage boxes for screws e.g.
I am looking for suitable boxes for this so far I find only cheap plastic parts that certainly no longer work quickly at certain weight. Do you have experience with suitable products or even recommendations? Criteria: Stackable (stable) content must not mix during transport

F Tools Germany
Good evening together someone has already heard about the brand “F Tools Germany” and can say what about the quality? I was offered a full workshop car. The tool looked high quality and did not feel cheap either. But how good it is you can usually only see when you have it in use. The guy who offered me the car has been talking about Facom tool all the time what I found very confusing…either a sales mash or he himself didn’t know what he was looking for. a has The price sounded rather like sales mash Actually the car should cost almost 2000 euros but because he wanted to get rid of the car he offered it to me for 400 euros…. Maybe there is one of the experience with this tool. Should the price be good I call the guy maybe after all

Questions about Unitec Power-Station Plus – Charging battery externally with large Ctek charger?
Hello guys, I have such a starter box with 12V battery, compressor and light from “Unitec” (exact name is “Power-Station Plus”, article no. 77901). Now it is unfortunately so that shortly after the warranty time the battery of the device has given up the mind. In the device is a standard battery 12V/17AH as it is used e.g. also for lawn tractors. So I bought a new one. After a short time also this was useless. The power station is usually used via the Socket with a small plug power supply with 12V DC/500mA charged. I measured once with the multimeter. My original plug power supply does not output 12V but the voltage fluctuates between 18,3 and 20,5 V DC. Can this be the reason that the batteries are constantly going over the Jordan? I mean it can’t be healthy for the charging electronics or the battery of the box that the plug power supply does not move insignificantly above the specified 12V. and you could measure the output voltage of your power supply, whether there are deviations? I then thought that in future I would simply charge the battery removed from the starter box with an external Ctek charger directly to the poles or replenish it via the Recond program. However, I have only the rather thick MXS 25 with a maximum charging current of 25A in stock here. According to Ctek’s info, the device is only available for batteries in de r size of 40-500Ah is suitable and is normally used on our car batteries or the batteries of our caravan. If I connect the Ctek to a larger car battery (normal 85Ah-lead battery) and the small 17Ah battery from the starter box simply by means of a bridge cable in parallel to this car battery or if I still run danger the 17Ah battery with the high charging current d I think that a direct connection of the large Ctek-LG to the small 17Ah battery is not an option. Thank you very much for helpful answers.

Wanted: Solder Fitting SAE Air-Conditioning Compressor Air-Conditioning Service Unit Refrigeration Technician
Hello, is there a climate/refrigerating system technician on the way here, who can tell me where to get this fitting? Background: The air conditioning compressor of an air conditioning service unit no longer runs (condenser tested, start relay tested, compressor seems to block, then pulls current until the internal temperature protection triggers. Sometimes it seems to build up minimal pressure and when you switch power off, it seems to run backwards because the piston turns the engine in the other direction. W The two are ok, connections are pressureless, so no too high back pressure. Relay has passage, if you hold it upside down. Without starter condenser it only buzzes, so it seems to be heading in the right direction. I no longer have a defect, why ever. . Plan is now to get replacement compressor and let the fittings solder hard from a climate operation. Or the old ones solder off, but I lack the experience, if this is so easy when soldering hard. connections/threads are SAE 1/4 or 3/8. The larger connection looks soldered together, T-piece with one side screw valve, then above an adapter SAE 1/4 to SAE 3/8, third side tube? When soldering I first thought that the adapters are plugged into the tube on the compressor and then hard soldered, but when looking more closely they seem to have put the fitting outside on the tube. (Normally one would plug in a tube 6 or 8 mm). it is the thread, because the counterpart has a collar and an O ring, in principle the same connection as e.g. on the filter dryer. I have already searched through many air conditioning shops and catalogs, I don’t find these parts, they are mostly SAE connections with rim or directly larger/other calibers. Questions therefore: 1. Does someone know a source of supply (I fear that a climate operation does not have such a thing in stock (or is it common material after all?) 2. et solder again and simply solder on the new compressor, if necessary clean/drill a little, so that you have a clean gap. (Of course, when soldering/dissolving rinse with N2). 3. Is there anything else about the compressor?

Güde Compressor runs briefly weakly, then out again (motor protection switch)
Hello, my compressor no longer works, it runs briefly then after a few sec. the motor safety switch jumps in and it is off. See video https://youtu.be/tWE8oundYbI I tried the following: On the big wheel turned by hand, is quite smooth drained condensation pressureless. Had everything done nothing, the result is always that same What could it be? Thank you and greeting Daniel

Switch coupling and track rods, springs and brakes only with underlay jacks?
Hello, I have to change with a Passat 3B2 of 98 coupling and track rods, springs and brake discs. Do you think you can do this somehow without a lift, only with underlays with a height of less than 50 cm? Thank you very much Nico
