  • Electrical control for Thule 6300 awning – combination of button and radio control sought

Hello together, I’m looking for a solution to be able to control my Thule Omnistor 6300 awning electrically by two ways: 1. The existing button with two pressure points (one for driving out, one for driving in) should remain usable. 2. In addition, I want to be able to control the awning via radio control. The awning runs with a 12-volt power supply. It’s important to me that both types of control (button and radio) function in a stable way in parallel and the solution If possible, no large gateway should be necessary, but I am open to simple and tried-and-tested solutions. Does anyone have a recommendation for a suitable flush module that I can switch between, or any other technology that is suitable for it? It doesn’t necessarily have to be products of a specific brand – the main thing is that the solution is compatible with 12 volts and works safely. Thank you in advance for your suggestions and experiences!

  • Cool the turbocharger

I have a VW bus T3 with turbodiesel. Somewhere I have heard that you should let the engine run after the shutdown in order to cool down the turbocharger. What does that look like, it is necessary, and what happens if you don’t do it. Grad if you stop often it is a bit annoying. If someone knows that, is it also necessary for modern cars with diesel (renault) or are there technical measures that take it away from you?

  • Driving style and consumption at WoMo

Hi, I have opened a thread over an L300 with alcoves here. As can be read there I bought the part. I have now also my first exit behind me. 3 days Lake Constance and back. Everything was wonderful. The consumption is now after 500km covered at 10.5 l. I have always tried to drive in as high aisles as possible. However, as soon as it vibrates I switched back into the smaller aisle. The L300 has 5 gears. I noticed that the L300 sees r is much worse to speed up than a normal car, it is understandable. If it makes sense to go up early into the next higher gear, or if you prefer to drive a little longer in a smaller gear. So I would like to have answered the question under the aspect of consumption, other aspects should first be considered secondary. I switched about this way: 1. gear up to 15km/h 2. gear up 15 to 35km/h 3. gear up 35 to 45km/h 4. gear up 45 to 75km/h 5. gear up 75 to 100km/h (fast If you have to push through the accelerator a little more in the higher gear to keep the same speed than in the next smaller gear, it can be that you still consume less fuel, because you drive in the higher gear at a low speed (at the same speed). My idea is that the fuel consumption depends on it as far as you can see. If this is the case, then it can make sense to switch to the next straight gear under the aspect of fuel consumption, even if you have to push the accelerator a little harder. Of course, it doesn’t necessarily make sense, but only if the effect of the stronger push through of the accelerator pedal is the effect of the lower pedal. Don’t compensate for the speed. Look forward to answers! Daniel

  • Rent your own Womo

Hello, after we have -unfortunately – separated from our Womo at the birth of our son 5 years ago, it is now finally time to take care of the Womo virus again. 😉 We want to get another one! (since we now have a child, it will become a bunk bed model. e.g. Carado A361 ) Since a Womo m.E. must be kept in motion, the idea to buy and rent one has arisen. At the moment we are not dependent on the -teuren holiday dates and could Therefore the request Who has experience with – cheap motorhome insurers for landlords – left for existing founders – tax recognition of a rental for only 1 camper ? – calculation calculations/checklists/contracts – What would I do differently today? – crediting private driving – business plan many thanks

  • Caravans TÜV + Gas

Hello happy new year, I have a question to my caravan the TÜV expired and I have to make it soon the new one is clear. But do I also have to have the gas test done if I have no gas? The connection is available, but we do not operate our caravan with gas, we cook for years with Indukions. And in winter we have two heaters with us. At the campsite we have also never been addressed whether we have a gas test. Is that again so a general arrangement to get money in the cash registers? Thank you for your opinions

  • Air poles for old tents

Hello together. I wonder if it is possible for tents with metal rods to make an air pole. Or is there possibly already? Some air tents are built like the conventional tents. Should be possible. Is it just too bad to exchange the older tents and replace them for an air tent.

  • Alternative to California

Hello I was on the road in Northern Europe last year with a converted VW T2 for a few weeks. Now I would like to repeat next year. To travel again with a T2 is no longer possible (too loud, too thirsty and engine damage in Helsinki). Now I am looking for a suitable vehicle to go on a trip. It should already be designed to camp with it. But at the same time it should not be too big to go into an underground garage or on a public parking lot. Now I’ve stepped onto the VW T.. California. Are there any other comparable vehicles that can be compared to the California?

  • Box pendant, which can also be used as a sleeping place

Hello people, – I hope my question fits at least roughly into this area, otherwise please move – I am looking for a small trailer, which I can use as a load trailer as well as as as a sleeping place. So basically a closed box trailer. But what I find in this direction are usually relatively narrow and therefore high trailers and practically always without windows. However, I would rather do something like this in the direction of Dethleff’s Miniglobe 2.0 (http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/…/ …wagen-for-two-2743356.html) float forward, i.e. lower (only because of wind resistance) and of course with windows. This is of course nothing for the big holiday, but would be optimal for me to be able to lie down on a longer tour in breaks without extra effort or even for a weekend trip, after all better than a tent, because less installation effort and better weatherproof. Which alternatives are there or which base trailer is suitable for e requirements: closed, not too high, aerodynamic construction, usable as load trailer, max. 750kg load, enough space for mattress for two people, approx. 3000 EUR new price.

  • Golf V and caravan? Ask for your help!

Hello dear forum community, I’m new here, and with new caravan…. so also with many new questions. Since the first tour is almost imminent, I now come to the topic “loads”: so axle load, support load, etc… and then the question arose to me, whether it could become “eng” and I have to take special care somewhere. Tractor is a Golf 5 TDI 1.9l with 140hp to be pulled a WoWa “Thrun-Eicker” world boomler Here are some data from the registration certificates of the B vehicles: GOLF 5 TDI 140PS 1.9 l F1: technically permissible maximum mass in kg 1910 7.1: technically permissible maximum axle load per axle group in kg 1080 G: mass of the vehicle in operation 1391 Q1: technically permissible towing load in kg 1400 over 8% incline, below which up to 1700 13: support load in kg —— ((a)!!!)) caravan THRUN-EICKER Weltbummler 520 EZ 1973 F1: technically permissible maximum mass in kg 1200 7.1: technically permissible maximum axle load per axle group in kg 1200 The following considerations are still valid: Uncertain: 1. How heavy can the overall crew be at the end, where in the driving licence is this? 2.) Can I calculate the rear axle load of the vehicle somehow? Or does it only help to weigh? 3.) No support load is given for the towing vehicle; is the good? or bad? Speaking of weighing… the police will check the following works for my information when checking: the Wohnwagen — certainly quite simply: only the ready to drive Where to put on a large scale scale the drawbar load of the WW — here I need please a tip from you car total weight — I can still get that. But is this just the car or the overall car? Rear axle load with coupled trailer — Only with the rear axle on the scale, front axle and where down from the scale? Can I pull the woWa with the car? What to consider? THANK YOU for your helpful tips and answers… Gruss Daniel
