During a driving safety training for teams (which I can only recommend to everyone) we also carried out a full braking from 50 km. Our caravan brakes, but the wheels do not block completely and you have the feeling it pushes it still. Then I tried to drive with tightened hand brake, but I hardly come from the spot. In some caravans the wheels blocked completely and with some not. They told us that we should check the brakes l assen. On demand from the dealer, I was told that if the wheels of the caravans were completely blocked, they could also break out. However, it will also be due to the rust, because the brake pads first have to grind in. We will now go to a test bench and have this tested. But now the real question: What do you mean, the wheels should block completely with a full braking?

Load towing load
Hello Community, I have a 535d Touring xDrive (EZ 07/2016) with an electr. swivelling trailer coupling installed by the factory. The maximum towing load is 2000 kg (braked). I would like to buy a heavier trailer now and came across the topic of loading. Unfortunately, the customer service from BMW did not reply to my request. Does anyone have any experience with a load up here? I already have the references to Auto Technik Bihler and S.K. Handels here in the forum. GmbH found. S.K. says that they have no possibility for my car, Bihler says very probably possible, on 2300 kg (incl. support load up to 8% incline), about 600€ cost. However, as with any deviation to the series, BMW could reject the manufacturer’s warranty (I have a BMW Premium Selection warranty that runs for just under 3 years). Are there any other options? What is “legally” actually a burden) Thank you!

Fog closing lamp – TÜV
Hello, the TÜV also checks the NSL. Does the NSL have to be switchable even when the light is switched off, or is it enough if the NSL goes on when the light is switched on (of course with extra switch)? D.h. NSL would only be switchable when the light is switched on. The reason is that there is no signal at the NSL socket on the towing vehicle. (Tested with test plug). But I want to save myself the constant request for the error (obvious to the towing vehicle) and simply bring an additional NSL on the trailer. n and when the inspector says “Please turn on fog lamp” with a radio switch, i.e. simply lead the power of the rear light to the NSL with a radio switch. On the towing vehicle, Volvo V70 II, 2001, I never thought there was a signal on the pin of the NSL / AHK removable 13 pole, was retrofitted. However, the NSL on the Volvo works. However, I believe that the trailer, never an NSL was connected … (TEC 490 TSK, 1996)

Baggage slips under the fund seat
Hello Marco Polo Fansgemeinde, I finally got my MP. On the first trip, the luggage slipped under the fund seat, so that they could not be lowered to the bed. Only after laborious prefabrication then went. Question: How do you solve the problem? Is there possibly a bulkhead for the installation or only a rear extension helps there? If so, which rear extension can you recommend?

Problem with TABBERT customer service
Moin, I have been fighting with TABBERT for months. We bought a new PEP 550 DM in the DEZ.2020. The problem: The gas flame from the refrigerator always goes out by wind. During the ride and sometimes even at the campsite. The reason is, the flame is directly behind the lower ventilation grill. Without windshield!! We had this so far with no other caravan. The dealer says I should drive with winter cover. From TABBERT customer service comes “We will check your request u and get in touch with you as soon as possible.” But after 4 inquiries and 4 months of my site nobody will be in touch. And this is called PREMIUM Manufacturer !

BMS does not start despite 13 V – Lifepo4
Hello Womo friends! I’m on my way to Sweden and got my Lifepo cells shortly before departure. Then 2 days balanced and 50 % charged. That’s all I could do because of the time. During charging I could start the Daly 4S 120A BMS and monitor it using Bluetooth, set parameters. After that it didn’t work in the vehicle. Also not with charger or power supply as described. On-off a switch I unfortunately have no. What can it be, h at someone an idea? On the battery are current 13,2 V and each cell has 3,328 V on, are all almost the same. I’ve been traveling for 4 days without BMS, running. But would like to use it. Vl. can help me, thank you. Greetings from Sweden, Daniel

100 km/h registration in vehicle registration
Hello, we bought a caravan (built in 2004) which has a 100 plate. I have read that this must also be entered in field 22 in the vehicle registration. But now, because of the year of construction, our caravan still has a very old vehicle registration (from the previous owner) where the field 22 “size designation of the tires or front”. Does anyone know where to find the entry in an old vehicle registration?

Caravans – Gas & Problems & Testing
Hello, dear community, I am the owner of a KNAUSS south wind, age 14 years. 2 years ago I came without problems through the TÜV – except for the gas test. Somewhere the line was leaking, so I did not get the gas badge. No problem, because I only drive to the south, at campsites with electricity connection; I simply do not need gas. Now the TÜV is standing again, and I would like to get the gas badge, i.e. I would like to have the line fixed beforehand. My questions: – What costs do I have to reckon with for the line control or repair? – Does anyone have a tip where the leak could probably be located? (I know, an “optimistic question”, but maybe there are so typical “leak jobs” at caravans or at KNAUSS south wind….) Thank you for your answers!

Why is my axle load as high as the total weight? What counts when weighing?
Hello, since I recently weighed my living room for the first time when translating from the winter quarter I had to find out that I have a massive overweight problem for a long time. Well, I always drove around with full water tanks, toilets and various stuff which I don’t always need and pay attention to even loading so that there were no problems so far. However, with a check it would not have been possible to load into the car. After extensive research here and via Google the opinions on the total mass are very different. To the own question my car may already weigh 1700 kg. Since the axle load is also registered with 1700 kg and the support load of 100 kg is attributed to the car (doesn’t lie on the axle), can the car then weigh off on the wagon 1800 kg or not weigh? Differently asked, if you have to weigh on the mobile scale and the scale shows 1700 kg axle load on I am then in the green area or can only be 1600 kg because the support load is calculated on it? I know how complicated it is expressed :

Caravan: 12V power supply with 220V converter and battery.
Moinsen, I have an understanding question about the operation of the 12V network in the trailer, which the SuFu could not answer. Please note: In my question it will not be about the 12V supply over the towing vehicle; that is not a topic and should not be included in the considerations. Also I do not want to buy a new electric block. Here the actual condition: caravan Knaus Azur, BJ 1991. As standard equipped with a 220V/12V converter. No battery. Some lamps and the water pumps run over 12V (so far from the converter supplied by land power). Some lamps, refrigerator and the Truma-Vent run over 220V. For the converter unfortunately, no technical data are available. The following is before: installation of a battery. Installation of a charger 220V/12V installation of a solar system. After the conversion – so I imagine that the 12V consumers should be supplied with the converter after the 12V has arrived. The 12V power supply is not supposed to be supplied by the 12V switch over the battery.
