  • Install USB socket for cigarette lighters

Hello dear community, in order to get some variety in the tristesse. I would like to exchange my cigarette lighter in the car for a 2xUSB socket. At youtube I actually did not get all the questions answered. First: I am lay, however, as far as car technology is concerned, I do not have so much 2 left hands, that I would not be able to do this myself with a reasonable instruction. State of the art: https://www.bilder-upload.eu/thumb/f9b737-1584782883.jpg A black, a red , a yellow cable. The red one looks black-red from the other side:https://www.bilder-upload.eu/thumb/5ae15d-1584782939.jpg This should be pure:https://www.bilder-upload.eu/thumb/c16c1a-1584782967.jpghttps://www.bilder-upload.eu/thumb/dee1f8-1584783035.jpg I found this right in the basement:https://www.bilder-upload.eu/thumb/abfbcc-1584783067.jpg 1. Can I just snap off the 3 cables? 2. Do I have to take out a fuse for this? (the cigarette lighter funktitif67.jpg). I guess the third cable (yellow?) is the earth. What do I do with it? 5. I’ve never worked with these “clamps” (?) before. I guess I just plug the cables through the red things and then snap that with a plier to keep it going? Thank you!

  • Gas bottles filling in France

Hello together, I plan to move my holiday trip to France at short notice and wonder how I can fill my two aluminium gas bottles there. This topic was last dealt with in 2013. But maybe there are innovations? We travel from place to place through all of France for 4 weeks and are not fixed on a campsite. I would like to have a list where I can have my aluminium bottles filled. Such a list exists for the Scandinavian countries. r France? Do I really need an adapter or is it available at the filling station like in Norway? Because we like to stand free electricity is only an emergency solution. We definitely take a small electricity heater with us for all cases.

  • Truma S3002 goes out on a high level after a few minutes

Hello, this summer is rather grown through and a little cooler which is why I started my Truma S 3002 in the morning on vacation. Unfortunately, after a few minutes it always goes out when it is set at level 4-5 or higher. If it is set very small, it runs through but at 5 degrees it is a little bit to get temperatures in the caravan. When it then runs out, it tries to re-ignite. Then it is turned off and waits 10-15 minutes until I get it back mme. Before I make the days an appointment at the workshop, maybe someone has an idea what it might be about. Thank you!

  • Air heater does not ignite

Hello I have a webasto diesel air heater in my 508D (firearm) When I turn up the controller at the front it runs on but does not say that it only blows cold air through the area. I had glow candle outside and it glows like n landing place at night. Then I took off the diesel line and pulled it with a syringe once if the pipe/filters are stuffed, but it came on diesel and it ran then also cheerfully. I also have no dosing pump in the diesel unit ng found that can be? vlt knows here still someone how you can see if it’s sprit or something else. had already thought about startpilot but then somehow didn’t trust me

  • Gas box locked after lock loosened.

Hello. I am here new in my distress and many greetings in the round. We returned from the holiday last night. To remove the crank to our old sweetheart from the guest box, I had to find when opening up that I held the whole lock in my hand and thus an access to the box is impossible. Our old Fendt is still from the end of the 90s and with the knob the lock bolts are closed or opened by turning. That seems to not go any more, because in my opinion the counterscrew was lost on the ride. Does anyone have a tip on how to get to the lock mechanism without flex etc? Thank you!

  • Electricity/Battery Problems

Hello together, I have installed a 100 AH battery in the caravan. Age of the battery 2years. The previous one was defective. Got the wowa on Saturday from the dry winter storage and connected to the electricity. Today filled up water to flush through thereby determined that the water pump has little power. Also the blower of the heater is weak. Battery measured 13.7 A. With 220 V goes pump and blower as it should. After 2 hrs. battery measured 12.3 V. I suspect the original La I have a charger of CTEK similar to this one here https://www.ctek.com/en/battery charger 12v-24v/mxs-5-0-eu. I would also disconnect the original and connect the CETK. What do you think? If you want to get a battery charger from CTEK, you can get a battery charger from the charger.

  • Tyre age and 100 km/h approval

Hello, for the 100 km/h approval the tyres must not be older than 6 years, the DOT number is decisive. But what does that mean in concrete terms? Can I drive from the day when the tire becomes 6 years old only 80 km/h, or does this apply from the day when the tire becomes 7 years old? Example from practice, my tyres are Bj. KW25 2015. So 6 years and 5 weeks. May I drive still 100 km/h, or not? And before sayings come again by reason of tires you do not save etc., the holiday is over, this year there is nothing left and the ride to the parking place is inside, and next year there will be new tires on it anyway. Unfortunately, you will find the same wording everywhere without going into the details. Or I’m just too stupid to understand it.

  • Connection Victron charger to hard-to-reach batteries

Hello together, I have installed two in series switched gel batteries in my camper. I would like to connect to these batteries now a Victron charger. Unfortunately the batteries are installed so that I get hard to the connections of the battery. The easiest way would be to attach the charger to the current input of the inverter. My question: Would this theoretically be possible? The cables, which go from the battery to the inverter, are very thick and the screw connection ngen at the shaft input of the inverter allow it without any problems to clamp the cables of the charger. Thus the charger would have connection to the battery, the existing wiring from the battery to the inverter then serves so to speak only as an extension. So I do not have to directly to the connections of the battery. Check out my diagram for this. Thank you for your input. LG

  • Support load Exceeding, tolerances ?

Hello, after the last contributions on the topic between 3 and 6 years ago, here now my new question: Is there somewhere a rule/legal regulation, by how much the support load (100 kg, Tiguan) can be exceeded ? What happens if one is ‘traced’ with an increased support load ? Are there limits prescribed by VW ? (I also asked the question in the Tiguan forum ) It is about the construction of a bicycle carrier on the WoWa drawbar with an Al-Ko ball and on it 2 wheels Without wheels, I can get to the 100kg, with the wheels I lie over it. Thanks Alfons

  • Refrigerator door

Hello, I have a very good fridge of Dometic, type RML9335 installed in my camper. Unfortunately, the flat angle that takes up the door hinge is loose. This flat angle is mounted above the refrigerator with three screws concealed. And these screws are loose. It’s not about the actual hinge of the refrigerator door. You can hardly (not) join these 3 screws. If you expand the control unit above the refrigerator, a flat shaft opens. The flat angle is visible and you can also touch the screws. However, it is so flat that you can’t handle it and certainly not if you don’t know the type of screws. Therefore… 1. Who knows what kind of screws it is? 2. Does anyone know how to extend the plastic cover over the cooling tank? This plastic cover takes up the control unit that I have removed (see pictures). I am grateful for any help.
