  • Sports accessories in everyday vehicles – real use or pure show?

Hi, over the years here at MT I have noticed that sports accessories such as – sports rims – sports seats – sports mirrors – sports air filters – sports suspensions – sports exhaust systems – sports pedals and many other parts are very popular. However, most of these parts are installed on vehicles that serve as pure everyday vehicles and a (though low) sporting activity with these vehicles is revealed quite rarely. This has led me to the conclusion that this accessory mainly serves the show and rarely brings real (measurable) benefits. I would evaluate the ratio with 95% show to 5% benefit. How do you see that? Did I perhaps miss something in my considerations?

  • 50cc scooter up to 500 euro

hi people, first contribution here and directly a question I’m looking for a cheap 50cc scooter over the summer months (not more than 500 euros) to get to work (average 4-6km per track) or something to drive around. that’s a rather spontaneous purchase, which is why I’m basically only worth it, that the part will also start when it starts. can be good that I will then sell the part again in 2 years. now have the possibility of a scooter with the following data for 499 VHB to buy: REX RS500 Used, 2 previous owners 2.400 km 06/2012 EZ 3 kW (4 hp) Petrol HU/AU 03/2015 Scooter should be well preserved and looks good on the pictures, as far as I can judge. the scooter stands with me in the city, so that I could quickly see the part. I read something here in the forum yesterday evening and the opinions rather go away from “china scooters”, as the rex one should be (know me absolutely zero with rollers etc.) certainly there is län better scooter, but for the price and my financial means that I currently want to spend that would fit or what do you think? the part does not have to be the best high-end part. short critical opinions are desired lg

  • Old and cared for or young and…

Hello, I just don’t know how to decide: So my car is 13 years old, has almost 190000 km on it. Now it’s not worth investing any more. So another car. There’s an offer: Peugeot 309 over 15 years old. Very well maintained (“Opa” has made continuous inspection etc.), 70000 km. Timing belts and ignition would be due. And all for a small money. Interior, engine room everything like “keeps”. even the car workshop is enthusiastic. Or a car that costs 4000 Euro about 300 km a month. Of course such an old Peugeot, but very well maintained. Or a newer car. With the Peugeot, I would drive for a while now, by the way, save on a new car in about 3 years. Then I can afford something “good” for about 10,000 euros. Bzw. a down payment and then continue to finance in installments. What would you do? Nice greetings Heike

  • Directional decision – which car would be useful in the range ~500€ ?

Good evening all together, it’s time to start looking in February-March. I’m looking for a new car for ~500€. I’m currently in an apprenticeship, from October I’m most likely going to study full-time. Thanks to Bafög + side job, I won’t have less money available. I’ll be able to finance or entertain all the cars I’ll list below. One or the other car will make sure that I keep less money. My favourites: BMW E46 325/330Ci around year 2001 Seat Leon 1M 1.8t Audi A3 8L 1.8tMy driving profile: At the university it is 25km, makes 50km per day (but will not have to drive to the university every day). In addition, there are other private rides. So there will be a bit of something coming together. Of the 25km I will drive more than half over AB.My alternative: maybe a small car to have more money for other things in the bag. I have good quality possibilities? I would like to refrain from Opel if possible, even manufacturers like Hyundai, Suzuki and Fiat do not necessarily have to be. PS-wise it should already be around 100 hp, rather more. My heart tells me E46 330Ci, my mind Seat Leon 1M (at the moment), because with 180 hp properly motorized, fuel consumption in the frame and thanks to the 6th gear on the highway at fuel saving anyway in advantage again. A good, powerful small car would however be Which one should I really look at? Thank you

  • 77 Camaro – buy?

Hello, I was asked yesterday evening by a good friend (witnesses and godfather of my daughter) whether we would like to buy a 77 Camaro together. The topic together to buy a vintage car from our year of birth was already in the room for a long time, now by chance something has arisen, which I would like to hear your opinion. The car comes from a distant kin of my friend, who bought it in the 70s as a demonstration car. Since then the car has been in it First hand – the good man is now 91 and has had a stroke. So the Camaro should go away – where we come into play. Apart from the paintwork, nothing is tinted or welded. The box is credible accident-free. The car has been proven to have run 46000km, is an EU version and was repainted 6-7 years ago. However, the paintwork is not particularly good – for now but ok. The interior is still original – clear dissolves here and there something, but in large and whole The 5.0 V8 engine jumped after a year of service with a tremoring bubbling and ran without problems – we could then make a short test drive. Gearbox – brake – chassis – steering etc. inconspicuous. We sat in with 4 men, however, it hung so deep that the exhaust was running at floor waves. Is this normal? On stage we were not yet – underbody, wheel boxes, engine compartment etc. are stainless. Only at the rear end on one side it gammelts un tenrum. The price – because within the family is less than 5000,-€ – i.e. 2-2500 per nose. A parking space in an underground garage is available… I would estimate the general condition with 2-3. The car has TÜV and an H-approval. What do you mean? Greetings Peter

  • Euro 6 standard from 2015

The following problem: How about the (first) registration of a new car with Euro5 standard starting in 2015? I buy a golf in the Czech Republic as a new car and the 1.2 TSI engine has the Euro5 standard. The car will be delivered in January 2015. Do I get a registration for the car in Germany or do I have to show a Euro6 Norem?? My research results are contradictory: here Wikipedia, see section car with petrol engine:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abgasnorm There is a Euro 6: Type test from 1.09.2014 and registration from 1.09.2015 I assume that the type test (with Euro 5 engine) of the golf took place before 1.09.2014, therefore the first registration with Euro 5 engine can take place until 31.08.2015. So would fit. But in other articles like here e.g. http://www.erdgas-mobil.de/…/ says: All car models, for which the manufacturers apply for a new type registration from September 2014, must meet the Euro 6 standard. Euro 6-conformity This means that I could no longer allow the Euro5 Golf in D from January 2015, since Euro 6 is not compliant. What do you think?

  • Short distance car up to 1500 € searched

Hello people! On the way forward, I have unfortunately no plan concerning cars Since I am by nature lazy and before a good year I got the Opel Astra built 1996 from a mate for slump 200 € and now the TÜV runs off I would like to get a new car. I got used to short distances, 10 min to work e.g. to drive with it and do not want to change to bus again. Since at the Astra the exhaust is broken and a friend has found another one or other which the I don’t want to put any more money into it. Have looked at various car platforms on the net but in the price range up to 1500 € there is a quite large selection. But is there one or other model that you can “suggest”? Since I can’t screw it myself I need a reliable car which gets two years TÜV and can then also be removed if necessary. Thank you for your help!
