  • Volvo S60 D5 Problems with injectors

Dear Volvo friends, my Volvo S60 (BJ. 09/2003, 180,000 KM) is slowly driving me crazy. The problems started with light vibrations on the steering wheel in the speed range 1400-1700 u/min. especially under load and cold condition. After about 1 month it was clearly audible that the engine does not work properly – in idle run it nails, in the lower speed range it is powerless and swallowed itself. The moose father found that 4 of the 5 injectors do not have to work properly and be replaced – measured values of 5,7-30 mm3, (reference value max. 3 mm3), only one was still fully functional. The best thing was to replace all 5 – cost point 2000€!!! Meanwhile 4 of 5 injectors have already been replaced (at Bosch, all general overhauled), but the problems have remained the same. What do I do? I don’t know any more! If I had stayed right with the Volvo. What does the professional community say? Need reasonable and useful suggestions.

  • Lamp change passing beam V70 Built 11/2004

Hello everyone. With my V70 now after 85000km the dipped light in front to the right burned through. No problem I thought, I had with my first V70 Mj. 2001 more often. Plaste cover down, plug off, span off, lamp change, everything went easy. But with my present, how should I get there to the lamp? The rubber cover goes down, but then, the lamp is stuck so far in it, nobody gets there. In the Volvo book it is nice explained, but the practice looks quite different. A call to the friendly, who told me, can be that I caught the Mj. where first the front thruster and then the complete headlight is removed, only to change the lamp. Is there with Volvo still everything in order. Has any already had lamp problems with the same model year, so 11/2004. Thank you in advance for answers.

  • Problems with Comfort Call heater

Hello, and another question about the stand-up heating….. I had – like probably some others also – in my XC90 D5 the stand-up heating function released and then in the spring the AEM module with Comfort Call installed. It also worked everything, whereby the last “test run” (I just checked every few weeks if the SH works) is about 5 weeks ago and went successful. Today I could have the SH the first time needed, and there was unfortunately nothing at all. In answer (you call in principle his car……) I got only the message that the participant “temporarily not available” was. Then I expanded the SIM card and checked it in my mobile phone. Result: I could call and call. So the card and the connection are ok. Then I put the card back in place, the plug connection solved and fixed again (since the installation was unfortunately the first time that I put a hand on it). Result: There was a call sign (so no temporally not available), but it was not possible to get the answer to the question. So there was nothing else to do the same thing.

  • Presentation round: a new V50 driver 🙂

Hello, today I would like to introduce myself briefly to you. I am Sebastian, 27 years old, test engineer by profession and come from Baden-Württemberg. So far I drive an Opel Astra GTC, but since I need a larger trunk and a total fan of everything that comes from Sweden, I had to/should have a Volvo here! 🙂 This has come about now, because a V50 2.0D Momentum was available for sale at a dealer close by. I signed the purchase contract today, I get car at the end of the month, at the latest at the beginning of June (it’s up to me, with the delay…) I am happy to find here with you the one or the other information, on a good exchange and hopefully few problems 😉 Best regards Sebastian In the appendix still two photos of my new 🙂

  • Conversion to solid wood successfully completed with inlays

Hello Phaeton friends, It’s done…. Probably as one of the first I refitted the complete wooden package incl. wooden center console. It’s not the normal wood version, but the one with inlays (myrtle with zambelli). Apart from the center console the effort was very manageable and possible for every half gifted craftsman. If now someone has come to the taste, I will gladly give you tips or the instructions. Sunny greetings from Würzburg, Tobias

  • My experiences with spark plugs from VOLVO!

Hello forum! I’ve had quite massive ignition problems lately with my 2nd car, a V40 model year 2004, 1.8, 90 kw -122 hp automatic circuit. I had due to strong noises of the hydro plugs let the engine clean with Mathy-C, the engine in the oil area. Then the used oil hot as it was drained, old oil filter off, new Olfilter bolted up. New engine oil from Castrol 10W40 A3/B2 cast 5,4 liters pure. Then the V40 50 to 100 km driven at different speeds. The noises from the hydro plugs are still no longer there. The cleaning was a success. But there for quite massive ignition problems. Sometimes the V40 only jumped on the third time. Here it was also very cold. I had the alternator suspected that it was the battery badly lad. Measured at the scald engine, good values. Battery 24 hours on charge again and then it jumped again. Then it was probably the battery, so I thought. There was a lot of snow, from the snow was not cleaned on the road.

  • Start Volvo V40 2003 by remote control

Hello Community I once had the ignition on my 125er scooter by radio remote control as 1. and then the engine can turn on. Everything itself built in. Was not a big thing when I had found the right wires. Now I was happy to install the same thing on my Volvo V40 T4 2003 Automaton. Only where are all these wires, how can I get to them? I only need the plus wire when the ignition key is in position 2, and then the plus wire, if I turn the key in position 3 to start. Can you help me further? I search pure the wires, where they are and how I get to it, without building the whole car apart… (And yes, I know that I have to place a immobilizer near the ignition lock Transponder, and that I do not have a problem, we don’t have to discuss this 😉 ) Grusss Stefan_Aerox

  • 2024: The End of Diesel Vehicles at Volvo

Actually, it was no longer a secret, but the current model year 2024 will be the last model year in which Volvo cars with diesel engines (formerly D-engines, recently as Mildhybrid with B-addition) will be offered. In some models, no diesel can be ordered anymore, this will then affect all model series. At the beginning of 2024 (i.e. at the end of the MY24) the diesel engine will then no longer be offered. Those who absolutely want to drive a diesel-volvo should feel better! For some models, purely electric successor models are available, the previous models will then be offered as gasoline/plugin_hybrid – this can already be seen today as EX90 or XC90. The same scheme will then also affect the other models in the coming years.https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/…/ (I have mirrored this post in the Unterforen of the current 90s, 60s and 40s series)
