  • Experience with V50 former car rental and petrol or diesel?

Hello, I’m just thinking about getting a V50. Have seen several offers at Motormeile.de now. The cars are from Spain and were used there as a rental car. Has someone had experiences with previous rental cars? I am very doubting about that. And another question: diesel or gasoline? The 2.0D is actually great. I already tried it. But in the fuel price development I ask myself whether a petrol engine would be the better alternative. I drive about 25,000 km per year. Which gasoline engine can keep up with the 2.0D? Thanks and greeting

  • It happened – roof problem C70

    ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • New engine, everything good? Tips and tricks for engine maintenance D5

What about a Volvo V60 D5 with the 205hp engine! After a few years of Audi, sometimes new, sometimes youngtimer etc. I have been convinced by a Swedes. It is a Volvo V60 D5 with the 205hp engine. I am very impressed by the workmanship and the room feeling, at least with regard to the cockpit and the rear. The hardly significant trunk could also come from a Renault or Ä (processing). But that hardly clouds the overall super impression. It is a MY11, it has run about 83000 km and is great in shot. Now to my actual problem, even if the SuFu offers some of this, the core of the problem is not sufficiently explained and solved. Cylinder head cracks, engine damage. The car has got a replacement engine at about 79000km at Volvo. Cause was a crack at the 3rd cylinder. Since the replacement engine was installed in Feb. 2015, there is a chance that this is still a better one, which I can no longer have this problem? And how can I avoid this damage? As far as I know it is a thermal problem. Warm and cold driving is of course not able to replace the oil?

  • new XC90 D4-D5 engines in the XC60 or V70?

“The Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has shown a first picture of its new Volvo XC90. The SUV will be presented in two weeks. More on the topic Two strong diesel The diesel range starts at 190 hp and 400 Newton metres of torque with the D4 turbo diesel, which consumes about five litres of fuel. The D5 Twin Turbo then delivers 225 hp and 470 Newton metres of torque. It is intended to consume only six litres. Two gasoline engines, one hybrid In addition, two gasoline engines will drive the XC90. The T5 delivers 254 hp and 350 Newton metres, the T6 Turbo comes to 320 hp and 400 Newton metres. The hybrid drive in the XC90 T8 is to deliver 400 hp and 640 Newton metres of torque. The “Twin Engine” drive train, according to Volvo, is to make the XC90 a plug-in electric car, a hybrid vehicle or a high-performance vehicle, depending on the driving mode chosen.

  • Question on alarm system and equipment

Good morning to each other, Since Wednesday I am proud owner of an XC90 D5. So far I’m very excited about my first Volvo. Now that I wanted to leave my dog in the car with a closed tailgate in the car (just to do something for a short while), I wanted to turn off the alarm system. I’ve already browsed through the manual. Unfortunately I don’t find an option “decreased protection”. Apparently the red light at the front is just an attic. That’s very annoying. When I bought the vehicle was in mobile.de quite clearly that an alarm system was there. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a screenshot of the display. I would have thrown that before the dealer. Now my questions: A) do you have to activate the alarm system somehow? B) can I get somewhere with the equipment list? C) someone knows what a retrofit would cost at Volvo in case of doubt I’ve already searched the forums (on the iPhone) but found nothing suitable for my request.

  • Problems with the XC 60 automatic air conditioning system

Hello! Since January 2024 we have an XC60 B5 Petrol Plus Black Edition and are so far also super satisfied with the vehicle. The model still has the heater with timer (fuel-powered). We currently have the problem that – no matter what we adjust – it is not really air-conditioned in the rear row or it does not cool at the warm temperatures at the rear. At the front everything fits and the manual ventilation controllers in the rear are also open but somehow the heat is enormous. We have a 1.5 year old toddler sitting behind and she torments herself a bit and is really sweaty as soon as it has outside 26°C / 27°C. Do we do something wrong or are the known problems? Another question about the fuel-powered stationary heating. I thought – without reading this more closely – that I can also pre-cool the vehicle with this option. So I know that from my old vehicles. In the app or in the menu in the vehicle I always find only “heating” and no cooling. Can the vehicle really not do that?

  • Volvo Sweden insurance

Hello forum, actually a topic for the insurance forum, but the target group is probably rather to be found here. After last weeks I ordered a XC60 T8 Recharge fast, I also immediately asked with our insurance, what is called there for HP and VK. Does only 180 and is more a car to cruise… Wrong thought, from currently 880 Euro for the T5 the insurance would rise to approx. 1300 Euro. Even if there is almost everything in there, what the insurance offers I find the increase somewhat ard. Since there are still things to clarify with the order, he asked whether an insurance change is possible. I am now not the constant insurance changer. The expenditure is too much for me for 50 Euro per year. Moreover, I do not want to discuss every time with the new insurance person that I do not want to move all my insurances. But now to the question: Does anyone already have experiences with the Sweden insurance of Volvo? The homepage of Volvo does not give so much. Greeting, Baer70

  • Automatic braking in the stand switches off irregularly

With my XC60 B4 MY22 it happens that the “automatic brake in the stand” has turned off by itself. Interestingly, only when my wife has driven. Not always, once in 3 weeks. Is then stupid, if one does not pay attention to the switch (should always be activated), drives again and at the first traffic light the car continues rolling. Of course, it does not switch it off manually. Any key/heel/pedal constellation seems to cause this occasionally. Have the other already observed? Explanations? Greetings

  • Hyundai S Couoe jerks and sparking ignition cables

Hello dear motor talk user. My last post is a bit old, had problems with my brakes, which helped me here and could fix the error. Now again two problems… For a long time my Udo stutters and jerks. If it is cold without probs but as soon as it has temperature, it starts to stutter and starts to stutter only at 3000u/min and my consumption is currently at approx. 10-11l / 100km. In addition it is nen 1.5l with 90ps. Quite expensive in the net researched and found nothing really clear. But much read about the Lambda. But can not my AU reports really much take away……Aufhnung??? Well the 2nd Prob. Before about 4 weeks ago he jerked extremely and reacted hardly to gas. I saw sparks everywhere, but not where they should go directly? Did spark candles change the last time but I can only try new ones (was the reason). Now I have the Bosch Super 4 in it, 4 weeks ago well, but since yesterday the same shot again, but the candles are not allowed to sound again?4 but they don’t?

  • Air conditioning stinks

With my XJ (Bj 2005) the air conditioning stinks for a few months. Already 2x at the JagDealer disinfected and pollen filter changed – it still smells like stable, when you open the car door the next day. After a few minutes drive the smell is gone. Either the nose has become used to it, or the mief has blown out. But the next morning it starts again from the beginning. I already had several cars (other manufacturer) with air conditioning, also considerably older. But I never had this problem. Does anyone have an idea?
