How is a Formula 1 brake designed exactly? (that the discs and pads are made of carbon, I think to know)? 3. What does braking actually do in an F1 car?     Hello! Have a question to the technology experts: A few years ago, when the cylinder number was limited from 10 to 8, an F1 engine developer in the MSA reported that there were problems with the now stronger engine vibrations. I conclude that 180° cranked waves (flat plane) were used, which cause very strong mass forces 2nd order. Because waves with 90° potting (cross plane) have a significantly better mass balance (no free forces 1st and 2nd order, very low moments by conrod width), I wonder why this design was not used.   • Passenger door does not open ??? Cadillac STS 05

    Halli Hello, I have been driving a Cadillac STS Bj. 2005 (4,6 L V8) for some time now and have the problem that the passenger door is no longer open from the outside. Unfortunately there is no lock on this side, so that I can now only make the doors mechanically from the inside on. Do I hear the door handle, how the actuator unlocks the rear door, but nothing happens at the front. Can anyone give me a hint what is going on and what could be broken? Was today i n the workshop around the corner (not brand specific) but they don’t dare. The car is too special. But think about this problem you can not only have with a Cadillac!!!     Hello guys, our Leon (Bj 2002) has a rather rusty brake disc on the rear axle. We bought it in February 2013 and before that he seems to have stood around for a long time. The question that arises to me, is it because of the pads?
