  • Oil consumption of the XC90

Good evening, does someone have (responsible) experience with the oil consumption of the XC90? I have a VW T5 with the unspeakable 2.0l BiTurbo engine, which now, like apparently all T5 after at least 80-90.000tkm, now enjoys a good 1-1.5 l per 1000km. According to my dealer, this is unfortunately normal, a well-known VW problem with the T5. With my Octavia RS, which also has a 2.0l engine, only every 25,000 km or just during the year inspection the oil has changed so far I did not have to refill. My father-in-law has a brand new Alfa Giulietta, since it is already in the manual that between 200-500ml per 1000km are consumed. That can not be normal, can it?

  • Purchase advice XC90 T8 Hybrid

Hello dear community, I came across an XC90 T8 (R-Design) from the year 2016 with ~140.000 km. We (2 small children, my wife and me) have a compact Karoq, but Volvo has always liked both of us. During a business trip I had one and was really excited about it. Now to the question: Are there any experiences of you about this type or possible concerns? Our Karoq drives quite well, did not even 40.000km on it, but the Volvo has already done a little bit to me. I am unwise if I should switch to an older used car after 4 years with significantly more kilometers. Besides, I would also have to pay a little money on it. But the Volvo offer itself is good. Thank you very much for your feedback! Greetings

  • Honda Legend – purchase recommendation??

Hello! I’m going to post this here because the Accord seems to be the closest to the Legend. Unfortunately, there’s no Legend Forum. I just got back from an extensive test drive with a Legend KA9. Year of construction 1998, 214,000 km. Technically quite good, except for two serious points: The brakes are made and the shock absorbers don’t seem to be the best anymore. Or does such a slightly spongy driving feeling belong to the Legend??? The car was built primarily for the US market… Anyway, except for slightly rusted rear fenders, there’s nothing to complain about. A little careless is it, but that’s really not the problem. The whole thing is to cost 800 euros. To make it fit for the Pickerl (or for the Germans: TÜV) ;-), one would probably have to plug in just under a thousand more. What do you think: is it worth it? Is something to say about the Legend in general from your side. To make it fit for the Pickerl (or for the Germans: TÜV) 😉

  • Accord Tourer 2.2i-CTDi Sport 30 Years Edition Needs ÖL

Hello together, does someone have experience with whether a Honda new vehicle can use / consume oil as standard? I was informed by the dealer at the delivery that, since the 2000 km inspection would be done nciht more, every 1000km look after the oil level MUST. Otherwise no warranty line in case of engine problems. Well, neatly as you are, I have checked it then. and see there: about every 2000 km needs 0.5 – 1 liter oil. meanwhile, 4.5 tkm on the clock. That can’t be normal! My previous cars have no oil CONSUMPTED! and when they were sold…. Thank you and many greetings jochen

  • By the car manufacturers built navs ….. TOPP or FLOP ???

Hello together, what do you think about fixed built-up car radios and navs, which are forced on today by every car manufacturer of humanity? I personally find these things only rip off. I will never buy a car with integrated nav. The problem is not the nav, but the rest usually only out of money used by the manufacturers. You want to have only one nav, and get a multimedia center for not seldom 2000€ to 350€ in the cut. These the manufacturers can pay well already at the purchase. And not rarely do they earn also in the afterin in best with it. A good nav costs today approx. 100€. So stands absolutely in no proportion what the car manufacturers demand for. What do you mean???? Greeting Willi H

  • Is a screw a wear part ?

During the last maintenance of my C30 year 07 (80 Tkm) it was noticed that the two screws with which the soot particle filter was attached to the engine were broken off. As a possible cause the friendly person called a “bad” or possibly even a loose screw and subsequent break of the then overburdened single screw. However, one can exclude a damage due to sportive driving or the like. Not quite satisfied with this answer I turned to the Volvo customer service, which has not yet penetrated to a correct opinion, let itself specified feedback deadlines pass and not report further. On the phone one speaks there now of a wear part and consoled on a soon coming, but probably (for me) not too positive opinion. What do you think of the history?

  • Xenon – Light cone and light range regulation

Hello everyone, wanted to ask me about your experiences with the xenon light. At my V50 (MY 2010, without autom. cornering light) it is the case that for example with the large signposts, which stand sideways to the right of the highway, the lower half is brightly illuminated, while the upper half with sharp border appears clearly darker. If the road is still a bit uneven then the light cone begins to “jump”, which is clearly visible and very irritating because of the sharp separation. Since I have not noticed this yet with any other car, the question: is this the same with you or are the headlights turned off? Besides, does someone know in which situations the automatic light-width regulation after, only with stronger loading or also with gradients/falls etc.? Thank you already in advance!

  • 156 2.4 20V beating noise while rolling away

Good evening, with my 2.4 I have a speed dependent hit. That means if I let myself roll at 50 km/h and get slower it will beat slower. Under load it is gone. I have to say now that I had an accident at the front right and the car is driving again since yesterday. I also have the problem that comes at 120-140 km/h the emergency run and there is no power and but only comes at this speed. If I am below and even if I turn out the lower gears full no error comes. The error code is P1235 and there is: -turbo pressure signal -There is a bit of helpless and hope someone can help me further. If more information is needed please let me know. Greetings

  • XC90 D5 2009 Momentum vs. Summum

Good morning forum, yesterday evening my has made me an almost immoral offer. A new XC90 D5 almost in 1-1immediate leasing exchange to my beloved XC70 D5. So replacement of the lease agreement 5 months before the end of the term. The Dickelch would be in momentum equipment with automatic, dark disks, Xenon, Opa-Radar and RTI. Unfortunately without a phone, but as 7 seaters. Color Uni-Black – Leather Anthracite. Now the thing with the fixed installation is not a huge issue, if there is a clever BT plant. My question should I take instead Momentum 7 seater better a summum 5 seater? Family and professional this would also be full enough, the story with the 7-seats is just a nice gimmick, Zg at children’s birthdays. Is there at XC90 actually 4-c and there is the telfon in the summum equipment included? I have seen nothing in the configurator. The question is what the summum large from the o. I am grateful for your equipment.

  • Survey: How satisfied were you with your Lexus in 2011?

The year is slowly coming to an end, it’s time to start the winter tires again. We hope you’ve come through the year with your mobile kit so far! And to find out if that’s how it is, we want to start a small survey again in 2011. Like every year, the manufacturers have done a lot to interest us drivers in their products and services and to satisfy their customers. But: How satisfied were you with your car? Or with the service that every car needs every now and then? So: How was your personal car year 2011? Since most manufacturers not only regularly read MOTOR-TALK but are also in contact with us, we are focused on the manufacturers with the survey results and your praise and criticism in the comments. That’s why in the comments you liked Lexus in general and your Lexus in particular in 2011, which is even better and what was not so sparkling!
