Hello men! My T-Reg V8 TDI has made me really happy for 4 years now, until…: A broken control chain tensioner caused loud flapping noises. To the friendly brought diagnosis after engine expansion: New engine!! Because everywhere in the engine room the chips of the broken spanner were traveling. 2 new turbochargers on top of that, because they are also in the oil cycle :curring:???? Teurer fun defies culant participation. Here my first important question to you, though too late: he chips can also rinse out or has a motor replacement been the only solution here? Now it comes even thicker! Car get back, m.E. it jerked on different days 2-3 times while driving off, what I did not know, but he drove actually fine again. After about 400 KM at the gas station no more gear goes in, stands on D, but drives no more, as in idle and smells like rubber.???? Let towing, is now for diagnosis with the friendly, vague guess: gear damage!! Now my main question: Did they have something wrong to put together, that he drives a few 100 km, then the gearbox breaks??? Out of the belly, this is connected to the engine repair for me, now worry that I have to pay again…. Thanks for every hint! Best regards, PS friend

Mondeo or Passat
It’s pretty hard to buy a new car; I have to find out. Too much choice, too much funding. Now I’m still fluttering whether to buy a Modeo Tournament Ghia 2.0 tcdi, or a passat Kombi 2.0 TDI. The Mondeo has more equipment for the same money, but I like the passat somehow better. Now I need some good reasons for the Mondeo. Can you help me with this? Greeting Peter

Focus goes off when you’re driving, help!
My Ford Focus Zetec 16V 1.8l (built in 2001, Futura), has constant start problems, jump from time to time only in the second attempt at the start. Furthermore, in the last half year it happened about 10 times, which when the vehicle is fully driven simply goes out. Even at high speed (motorway ascent) the engine went out. Furthermore, I noticed that the battery light goes on for a short time during the ride. My dealer workshop unfortunately does not know where the error is, already several T Is there any mistake in the electrical system. Hanging on my car, but soon with the nerves at the end. Does anyone know something: the same defect or tips so that the problem is finally recognized? Complaint to Ford? In advance Thank you

Shock: New control chain 3 weeks after engine damage mt 90tsd km
Had to change the control chain 3 weeks ago at Discovery Sport 2.0l, TD4 150 HP, year 2016 at 90 tsd km (2600 Euro)! Now the engine was roaring up, full speed short smoke from engine room. Workshop says, runs only on 3 cylinders, cause still unknown, has nothing to do with the recent control chains repair. Cheapest (!) case head seal 2000 Euro, otherwise about 5000-10000 Euro desperation…

Brake at the back of Discovery Sport and Evoque: A misconstruction?
Hi, yes, very provocative title, I know. But one stumbles very often over the topic “brakes in the back totally rusted”, with the DS and also with the Evoque. And our DS does not look different (see picture #1). And from the inside it is even worse! There is almost everything rusted up to the middle. A very nice and competent LR expert told me that this is very often the case too and can only be improved with parts from the accessories. So now I have Brembo discs (0 8.C208.11) and coverings (P 86 029) for rear purchased and the small surfaces (gutschi-gutschi-guh!) placed on the disc to see if the “better fit” than the originals. And yes, they fit better, but there is still a damn wide strip left that is not braked (see pictures). I then made the effort to look at the dimensions of the other competitors, which are almost all identical. The largest are the ATE coverings, which are 1.6mm wider than B rembo (and the rest). But 1.6mm doesn’t save anything anymore… If you ask yourself who designed this braking system, where obviously the pads don’t fit the disc! The only positive thing about this is: changing the brake pads and discs is actually not much heavier than changing a wheel. And in the net, the parts cost about 50 euros for the pads and 75 euros for the discs, so 125 euros for the brakes at the rear complete. Then it’s not so bad, a 4 years to renew this misconception. What do you think? Greetings, Hauser

Ceramic vs grey cast brake.
Is the weight difference really noticeable between 5 kg ceramic and 11 kg grey cast disc. e.g. steering behaviour or responding to the chassis? Maybe I order the “miracle brake” but I want to remember something for the price. 🙂 Greeting Rolf
