Just as I picked it up, the paint will be adapted to the “weather conditions” when it is painted. But if I wanted to polish the car later on, I would be afraid that there is a possibility that the old sheet metal parts will then radiate / shine significantly more after polishing than the newly painted ones, because they were trimmed to “old”. Otherwise, one could also let paint “new” in the mixture in the hope that the old ones will be painted In addition, my idea now would be to polish the car, then paint it, and later again polish the newly painted parts to obtain the same finish. Hello, I bought last week a Mazda Demio (Bj. 2000) very cheaply, in which the paint peels off. In some places about half a square meter of surface, on which not only the paint alone, but also the underlying white layer peels off. You can see at these places the naked sheet, at which however no rust has set itself yet. Does anyone know how such a thing can have happened? My plan: I cut the sheet round along the rust line, i.e. a well 4 cm wide strip and weld a sheet strip. I think that I weld on overlap, because you get from both sides, you can protect the overlap area well against rust. Which part would you put off? The faucet or the sheet strip to be welded?
