  • 12 years old Audi, culant paint soon, let polishing in advance to make colour better fit

Hello, I still have an A4 B6 from 2004 in the color brilliant-black, color code LY9B. Soon the fenders are to come to kulanz because of rust and be painted. The tailgate also comes as a used part new, but should also be painted. I would say that the car has an age-appropriate varnish. However, compared to a half so old A3 Sportback, which also has just under the same km-performance, about 200Tkm, and has exactly the same color code, the A4 shines clearly less. Just as I picked it up, the paint will be adapted to the “weather conditions” when it is painted. But if I wanted to polish the car later on, I would be afraid that there is a possibility that the old sheet metal parts will then radiate / shine significantly more after polishing than the newly painted ones, because they were trimmed to “old”. Otherwise, one could also let paint “new” in the mixture in the hope that the old ones will be painted In addition, my idea now would be to polish the car, then paint it, and later again polish the newly painted parts to obtain the same finish. Who can now tell me whether my fears are right or what I should do best? Thanks already in advance.

  • The paint peels off

Hello, I bought last week a Mazda Demio (Bj. 2000) very cheaply, in which the paint peels off. In some places about half a square meter of surface, on which not only the paint alone, but also the underlying white layer peels off. You can see at these places the naked sheet, at which however no rust has set itself yet. Does anyone know how such a thing can have happened? Is there possibly a chemical agent (acid or similar) that I have the Pellen can make the rest of the view easier? Otherwise I have a pig work in front of me. Here is a picture for the sighting!

  • fender body Oldi truck rust repair

Hi guys, since I’m not the metal professional, I wanted to ask how I can fix this. It’s about the fender of an old truck’s bodywork. There, where the fender was screwed on to the bodywork, it’s rusted through. The bodywork has a trapezoidal cut-out for the wheelhouse. The fender was probably mounted bare, painted probably only after the installation. On the inside the rust doesn’t go so far and the sheet metal surface is then perfectly fine. nge mal Bilder vom dem Teil an. Shown is the worst place. My plan: I cut the sheet round along the rust line, i.e. a well 4 cm wide strip and weld a sheet strip. I think that I weld on overlap, because you get from both sides, you can protect the overlap area well against rust. Which part would you put off? The faucet or the sheet strip to be welded? I would have said the sheet strip rather. work?

  • Keyless Go doesn’t work sporadically on the RRS

Own thread, because I don’t think this has anything to do with the facelift. With my new RRS the “Keyless Go” doesn’t work sporadically. A first repair attempt by the dealer did not bring any remedy (no wonder – with a sporadic problem). I could already narrow the problem a little bit: Sometimes you come to the car and can cover the door handle and/or shake it: the car simply doesn’t open. If you take the key out of the pocket of your pants and d stops near the door handle, everything goes smoothly. So the key (or the receiver?) works already; but has a very low range. (No, I changed the battery; both keys are the same). It’s striking when it’s just going and then you lock the car and it’s standing for a few hours, it won’t work the next time. But if you lock it up with the remote control, it’ll be easy again. As long as the car is standing longer again. This thesis doesn’t fit in with the fact that you can’t lock “keyless” at times. It was open before then. Go around again if you take the key out of your pocket and bring it up to the height of the door lock. (No, neither my wife nor I are small-sized). Any clever idea that I could give to the dealer when he picks up the vehicle next week at my behest? (Phase 4 update was b) Fred.

  • Difference rust converters and antirust agents ?

Was in the hardware store and had a few cans in the hand of Nigrin. Anti-rust agent make an iron-tannin layer and would protect the iron. But there was nothing about whether you have to rinse it off, or just apply it. Rust converter, there was on it that you should let it work and then rinse it with water.Question: Does the stuff really bring something (mainly on the underfloor) when you have rust in the beginning. Or you have to grind it away first. t that then, and then rust protection and rinses off that no longer ? Would be grateful for an “introduction” into this topic by a specialist. Or would like a link to a detailed description, gladly also with recommended means, which one takes.

  • Scratches on the tachoglass?

Hello together, I noticed somehow 1 week after the service that I got a scratch in the tachoglas before I didn’t notice this scratch because I was abroad after the service I noticed this only now. The scratch bothers me personally, because it is directly above the digital display of my Suzuki S-cross 2023. The car is not even 1 year old, knows someone if you can only replace the glass or has to be removed the complete speedometer ? Can such a thing happen with a service ? Maybe because someone has left something there ? I ask for help PS: You can already feel scratches with the fingernail is now nothing that you could polish out.
