  • G500 before or after the year 2000?

Hello together, I love the topic for a long time, but now it’s clear, I want a G500. Of course, I’ve already searched half the internet for tips and found a lot of helpful here. I still have a few questions, because I couldn’t find a final answer. Especially at the year of construction I think about it. The models >2000 have more electronics, which supposedly and logically can lead to more problems. But I don’t have any real reports about these Problems found, make the models with ESP etc. really problems and which are these? Rust is apparently a topic for everyone, is it really the case that the models from 1998-2000 were better? How “bad” is the air conditioning in the models before 2000 compared? Are there otherwise big differences between before and after 2000? I could also imagine a vehicle with 200,000km, if everything is in good condition and cleanly maintained. I think engine and transmission also keep much more from and with a vehicle with a higher running line, many other maintenances are possible, which are still to be done with one with 100,000km, or what do you think? Basically, both variants would be in question for me, whereby I find the old square dashboard even almost more beautiful. Many questions … and thank you for your help … Christian

  • Kaufberatung G 320 CDI

I have been driving a ML 270 CDI for almost 8 years. I will be separated from the car for a short time or a long time. As a successor I have considered the G 320 CDI from the year 2006. Since after my Internet search only a very limited proportion of short body versions was sold, it will probably become a long version. What is the exact designation, 463 ***? What speaks for the car and what against? Does it make sense to buy a car in this price situation of private? With which chew I only had the 400 CDI in mind, but with the 400 CDI probably the same flaws on the drivetrain as with the W163, right? Where are the flaws on the vehicle and how does it look with rust overall on the G? What should be especially taken into consideration when buying used vehicles? Does any of you possibly have such a vehicle and could copy, borrow or sell its brochure and price list to me? I n which area does the actual fuel consumption in everyday operation move How is the classification in the insurance? Since I could not drive a G sample yet, here is the question about the difference in driving behaviour on the road in contrast to the ML. I mean the G is overall more uncomfortable, so harder than the ML? I hope you can help me in the decision making. Should one of you have such a car for sale, also to a defined later Time then send me a PN.

  • G 300 TD jumps when it’s warm bad

Hello dear community, with my G 300 TD there are always start problems when it is warm. So that it only starts when it has reached operating temperature, if you want to start it briefly, stops and the engine starts immediately after it starts. Even if you would gurgle it for minutes, at the first start (so if it is warm), it doesn’t start. Everything goes normal. Aglow Rele display etc……… Does anyone have an explanation for this? Greeting E.E.

  • Is the G 350 BT really so bad

Dear G-community, I am irritated! I bought a fully packed G 350 BT last week (20,000 km / 18 months old). I had a G 500 about 10 years ago and was really satisfied with the constant refueling (Munich Hamburg 3 x refuelling) and front disc changes (stone strokes – min. 2 discs a year). I found the car a cult object and with a purchase decision ggΓΌ. Range, Cayenne, etc was that you always drive a current model, at least from the outside and And not everyone drives a car like this……. Have now read me here 2 hours through the G-Forum and actually read through the bank only negative! Is the car really such a disaster? or is it individual cases – clearly negatives are reported always faster than positives. I am now really insured… .. I thought the old original rock was reliable… Greetings from Munich and a nice rest weekend!

  • For all who miss the manual mode in automatic mode!

I found the following and believe that it will also work for the G500!http://www.auto-tests-service.de/…/212_Manuals_Schaltprogramm.html from Mopf2014 there is no M anymore – but it should be software free to switch. Who can also change the button is only cosmetics. Will this also work for the G500? Before the first ones shout out “Ohhh the guarantee”, “Ohhh Mercedes has thought of something” “Ohhh the operating permit” – please only the feasibility not the Sin n comment

  • My new G is here

Hello together, at last he has arrived. A few pictures. Tomorrow he is probably admitted. I was allowed to leave the engine on. The sound is enormous. When starting: a short roar! After that a nice dull sonorous hum. At the gas: a small hurricane. Simply phenomenal! I don’t think I drive here sparingly. The sound is simply too good. I could not have left the radio. I wouldn’t have thought it (but all the supporters of the 500s were probably right). I Ch had already tried a G without a sports exhaust system. There are worlds in between. I’ve never had such a cool car. More pictures follow when I finally have the box. Fortunately, I cleaned my G350 over two hours yesterday. I just have to go through the washing machine tomorrow and can then switch. Greeting Tom

  • OMXXX Lifetime CDI engines

Hello, your Benz driver. I’m thinking about getting a C 220 CDI. However, after reading about engine problems here, I’m a bit unsure. My budget only allows a used car, and the diesel models have usually quite good running performance behind them. What experiences have you had? How long do your engines last? How vulnerable is the other mechanics? What does an AT engine (including installation) cost in the worst case? I’m grateful for every information. Martin

  • Water pump defective πŸ™

Hi Forum, after a successful holiday in Austria (my wife called out to save money), my 9-5 Kombi 2.0t (150 hp) had to go to the workshop because my computer whispered something of low cooling liquid. Result: 400-500 Eur (take the car off this afternoon) because cooling water pump is defective. The whole thing after only 76,000 km. So much for saving πŸ™ πŸ™ My question: is normal? I mean 76,000 km and about 4.5 years old car, so my old Ford Escort lasts longer? h now set to even more problems or is that just bad luck? What do your experiences look like? Please don’t say hello to Oliver P.S. too much bad experiences, my soul must be caressed, after all, the 9-5 combo is my “dream car”…

  • Everything’s great, everything’s normal, or what?

In the operating instructions for my 2,3ltr-bolden with the legendary 170 horsepowers it is to be read that he needs a clean lead-free fuel, which has its octane number between 91 and 98 ROZ. So depending on the mood and waiting time at the pump I refuel this or that. But mostly the 91 ROZ juice. (Finally no orthodontist) And thus my little one runs exactly as beautiful as with the “higher percentage” varieties. At least I don’t notice any disadvantage. I’ve never been in, on, on or next to this north turn (where is it actually?) to deduce myself on whole or tenth of a second or anything else. I like to drive comfortably and speedily – as far as it goes. But without infatuating the frenzy. So I ask myself, which pros-perspective drawbacks do you negotiate with this or that fuel? After all the concentrated “Knoff Hoff”, which I was allowed to read and learn here, I have a little hope, for this I have some hope. to be able to expect rich information.

  • Recommended purchase 900 II – 2l Turbo or 6-cylinder?

Hello forum, I am looking for a 900er (Cabrio, Serie II) and would rather take the 6-cylinder. I find the running culture in combination with an automatic transmission (currently) more attractive. The alternative would be the 136kw-turbo – the new engines I find rather uninteresting and what you read here about engine damage rather creepy. I would be happy about a few short opinions, tips etc.. Nils
