Moin Moin love Oldie community I’m new to the US-Car Forum and need your advice And while I want to finally realize my dream of my own V8-Ami and have now decided for a Pontiac Bonneville Bhj. 1963 after a long search for a Pontiac Bonneville Bhj.. the car is not bought yet, I was not yet to the test drive or visit because the good about 800 km of me stands in Hildesheim. to the facts It is a 1963 Pontiac Boneville 2Door about 120,000 miles run. V8 389 cui with 303 HP eachfa. lls I read in the report that TÜV Nord indicated oil loss on the engine and slight oil loss on the transmission. According to the seller, the transmission is now sealed but the engine oiled still light. should I now rather leave my fingers off the good piece or is this acceptable with a 50-year-old V8??

73 Cadillac Oil filling from lower to upper mark
Moin dear forum, filled up motor oil yesterday for the first time at my caddy. The stand at the track bar was at “min”… Can anyone tell me how much I need to add to the brand at “max”? Filled in 0.5 liters, but the brand hasn’t changed much. I hate to overfill it… Thank you & beautiful sunny Friday! TorBenz

Nozzle problem Mikuni carburettor at 50cc Gilera
Hello together, I have today for the xth time expanded the carburettor to replace the nozzle. I have now changed the main nozzle #98 against a 65 nozzle (no more carburettor throttle available) Now I am still unsure with the side nozzle, there is 20 on it and I think that is too small. So I just ordered a 32.5 side nozzle at ebay (Mikunireconstruction). Would this work, first of all from the size? Problem is that I do not have a constant idle speed one In the air filter box the previous owner had drilled an extra hole in it, when I had seen it, I glued it tightly, after which the scooter drives like throttled only 20kmh. I don’t understand that either. So I haven’t yet assembled it again, since I want to wait for the side nozzle. Piston fixed…
Mooooin together. I recently got an Olever Sport for free. The completely disassembled (I don’t know anything about) with a cousin, oils changed, carburettor completely disassembled and cleaned, a defective oil hose renewed and nu was test drive. It is loud as if there was something in the Vario area. and after about 5 km it simply turned out at the traffic light. When starting it only makes CLICK…… nothing goes. Had already the problem that the piston was fixed and if you had moved it manually he went again. Well…. Probably hot running wa? As I said I have no idea at all but wants to get him started himself…. What can it be? Thought only on piston rings that might have burst. NEGATIV. When we had removed the oil pump in the engine block no liquid. Is that right?

Rex RS450 How to check E-Starter??? De will net more ;(
Servus, so now I have the salad; after I was on the road with my juten Chinaroller (RS450) every few weeks in the winter months only every few weeks at once my e-starter doesn’t want to go. With the kickstarter I get it after a long fight but the e-starter only makes a very quiet KlicK (sounds like a relay). I charged my battery and he didn’t go over starter help. Can someone please tell me how to check the starter? Where it is installed? Can this be that he is rusted (roller is outside)? Or does anyone else have any idea what it can be; security etc.. Mfg Andreas

Scooter purchase up to 1200 euros, ATU Classic 50?
Hi guys, I’ve got the great job of getting my girlfriend a scooter… but I don’t even know about scooters. I’ve just stumbled a little bit now and found the ATU Explorer Classic 50 in the price range up to 1200 euros. (http://www.atu.de/…/…_explorer_classic_50_weiss_euro_2-IC5029.html) One always hears a lot about China-Cracher/Baumarktroller/ATU scooters and similar… . The maintenance itself is such a thing, although a well-known car mechanic is but has no idea of scooters. Now it should be preferably retro look, but first and foremost it is about safety and affordability, i.e. inspections etc. So wanted to know if you wanted a tip. for me would have what can be found in the price category so. mfg

Rex RS 450 battery discharging, turn signal will no longer work
Hello together, turn me with a probably harmless matter for you all here. I bought a Rex RS 450. Already on the way home (50 km) he didn’t run any more. Reason was, I had turned off the scooter, then he didn’t jump any more, battery was dead. Now I got a new battery in, drove into work, at home the battery was dead again, so a multimeter bought, charging current measured, lies at 12.4 to 12.8 volts. Say the battery should actually l aden, why is the part constantly unloading, what can be broken if not the alternator? Many thanks to you already in advance! Lg Christian

Tyre ageing/brake disks
Good morning, dear motor-talk community! In advance: Since I have just re-registered, I hope to be right here with my concern in this section. I’ve been rather quiet reader Now first of all to my 2 “problems” regarding tyres and brakes: 1. Currently I drive on my Focus 2.0l TDCi Winterpneus (DOT 2210).Speaking these tires are now 7 years and from the profile top, because I can use a company car for some time and the car a lot in the Gara However, they are now now now 7 years and tires or their rubber mixture also age. I have also directly attached a few photos to the tyres. The vehicle is mostly in a garage. Say the tires are cool and sun-proof “placed”. – Do you think the tires are fine and I can drive them with a calm conscience for a few more years? When would you exchange the tires for new ones? Cracks they probably do not have yet. From the profile they will probably Also in 2-3 years still be in order, but whether one should still drive a winter tire with 10 or even 11 years? To the framework conditions: I am currently not driving 10,000km/year and snow is also more of a foreign word to my area. Of course, frost still gives it from time to time! I just want to be on the road with a good feeling. To save on that would be simple and wrong. Just like with my next question about the brakes.. Now to my second concern – the brakes. 2. A few months I was with the HU and the Dekra “deficient” my brake discs in front and back. Primarily rather behind. I still got the badge, because the values have probably still been enough. Now as already mentioned the vehicle is currently relatively much and the discs are rusted (no airframe, which disappears after several brave brakes) The discs are now 7 1/2 years old and also not really worn out, claimed. The vehicle has not yet 60.000km on the Uhr. Also here I attach a few photos and wait eagerly for your opinion. I hope you can help me somehow. Nice week start still, many greetings from Hessen

Reduce voltage (14V to about 10V)
Hello together, I would like to reduce the voltage in a supply line for the cooler fan as easily and cost-effectively as possible. So the solution should pack a certain power and not smoke directly. The typical voltage converters (ideally with Poti) I find are either from the area of the microelectronics or then directly 12V to 230V for the cigarette lighter Thank you very much!

Spark plugs with 4 electrodes – useful?
Hello dear community, I have a question about “Zündkerzen mit 4 Elektroden”.Background: I had an Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 for ages. So this awesome Italian sport coupé with the legendary 2 liter double nook. With this machine spark plugs with 4 electrodes were mandatory (works specification, e.g. Golden Lodge). Since these parts are really damn expensive (I have something of about 30 eurons per piece in mind), some have the significantly cheaper Bosch candles with 1 electrode installed and this often painfully with burned piston very bitter paid. I restore just quite elaborately a BMW E21 323i from 1981. In this case also an engine revision is due. In this course, among other things, an adjustable burst flow camshaft wheel, a 272° sharp camshaft and a stainless steel fan manifold will be installed. I would also very much like to use spark plugs with 4 electrodes (e.g. Beru UXT2). Can I do this without hesitation here or have such candles also disadvantages opposite the 08/15 candles with 1 electrode? Thank you ;=)) Jan
