  • Attach daytime running lights – but where?

I’m thinking of installing TFL. Please don’t discuss the for and against. Does anyone have an idea where they could be mounted on my vehicle From design I find it most appropriate in a line between main and fog lights. Why do I have any problems with this? See picture: At the “traditional place is not possible. There the lamp is hidden from the front bar I see now several installation locations: – Over the foggers in the bumper. But: I have a steel bumper. Drilling is and conserve is therefore somewhat more complicated than with plastic and the luminaires should possibly be removable without large holes – Before the radiator? there disturbs me the position in the airflow, the design and that I can not mount it there, because too far from the vehicle edge and too close to each other. At the lower end of the bumper? There bothers me the restriction of the front embankment angle It actually only remains on the bumper over the neblers? Then it has to be a properly it’s headlight housing? Not only what to put in holes where cables come out in the back. Where is there something suitable? Maybe someone has already solved this by themselves Thanks and nice Sunday LG, Sascha

  • Mercedes G-Class CABRIO 463 rare pre-series showed up!

I was recently offered a strange car more or less. It is a very rare pre-production vehicle, which was built for homologation and was fitted with the 230GE engine No. 10. Actually, Mercedes never gave pre-production vehicles into the market at that time as today. Most of them were dismantled or even destroyed after the various tests and acceptances. However, this convertible could be a Mercedes employee from the strategic area due to The car has been in his possession since 1990 and has always been registered. Mercedes had driven around 1100km himself to the car in the course of the tests. The owner has only driven 15,000km on the car in the last 25 years! “Everyone” km is documented, of course checkbook maintained. The car is in a correspondingly unusually good condition. I like the car very much, but I can’t judge what such a thing is like. I felt a bit pre-feeling and got the impression that you are talking about orders of magnitude in the direction of 60,000€, which I find too much. Can that be, or is there someone crazy???? Is there others here who have the experiences with pre-production vehicles and can tell me what? How expensive can a 230er be, even if it is good. I am very happy about serious comments. That this is a lot of money, is also clear to me, so please no P olemik here in the forum. It’s definitely a collector’s car that you can’t compare to the usual market. So I’m looking for the comparison to the exotics. Thank you! Greetings from Stern to Stern, Rolf Brettschneider

  • Mondeo 1.8TD 12/96 Engine without power

Hello! Drive a Mondeo Kombi TD for 8 months. Until recently, it was really satisfied, but in the last two weeks the events overlap. First, the heater runs out only on level 4, all in all for 3 days no longer at all. Then the airbag lamp lights up constantly, however, flashes continuously. Since the day before yesterday, the ABS display and the symbol of the handbrake also shines. The worst thing is, however, that the engine has been missing for about 1 month. It makes itself quite clear when starting and speeding up noticeable and it also jerks in the condition, which He did not do before. This change was actually noticeable to me only after the oil change. I used 10W 40 and added an adettive of Liqui Molly. After that I also filled an additional in the tank, which actually serves more for cleaning. The strange thing is that on some days the engine runs quite rough and nailed, then others again not I’m in the end with my Latin and really don’t know what it could be. In addition, he doesn’t start in the cold state in the morning, he always has to roll him down the mountain. I think it’s probably the glowing system, maybe the fuse! However, I don’t know where it is. The bad start in the morning is only since I installed a new annealing cable, because the old one was torn off at the ground. Before he jumped on quite well, he has all It’s like he’s getting too much diesel. I really don’t know any more! Someone might have an idea before I go to the expensive Bosch service! Thank you

  • Sums when ignition is switched on

Hello, maybe the question is stupid, but I still put it: If I turn on the ignition at my Mondi (BJ 2005, 2.0 liter petrol, flush-hook Ghia version), there is a buzz from the direction of the steering column (or dashboard) that is also there during the ride. Even with the air conditioning, lighting etc. Is this normal?

  • Soon my first mooneo

Hello together, so far only reading member of this forum and so far only in the Vectra forum on the way (old Opel family :-). But now (also with regard to family enlargement) offered me a possibility and I hit: Soon I get a Mondeo Kombi. The car ran for two years as a company car only long distance and has approx. 160.000 KM on the clock. I personally know the driver and have personally convinced myself of the very well maintained condition k Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion, because I think I hit a bargain, but I’m not sure, because I haven’t dealt with Ford and Mondeo yet. The car has almost full equipment including toys like Navi and electric seats, etc……the only thing missing is leather. Here are some dates: BJ 2004, 160000KM, 2.2 TDCI, aluminiums + winter tires on rim, check booklet-puffed, no damage so far, silver……Price 4300 Euro -> Is there How long does the engine last in average….would the car still like to drive one year or another? Are serious defects known to you? Would I just be happy to receive feedback and a few tips……..Pictures will follow as soon as the good piece is in the yard 🙂 Greetings, Beck

  • Battery life ?

Hello together, who has experience with the lifespan of the starter battery in Mondeo MK III, 130 HP TDCI, BJ 12/03 ? Reason for my question: After my car had stood almost two days last weekend, the battery was empty and it did not start any more. My neighbour then helped the engine with the help of a second battery and a starting support cable. Since then I drove every day of the last week about 50-80 km and had no problems at all when starting. I of course fear if the car is not moved again a few days the battery is empty again. Can a battery with normal use after not even three years give up its mind ? Should the point with an intact battery not be green ? At the in my vehicle it is red. (See photo in annex) greet rainbas

  • OT quattro rulez! 🙂

One day, a gentleman goes to an inn. As he goes inside, he mutters in front of him: fucking Audi drivers, fucking Audi drivers. By the way, he also spits on the floor every time. He sits comfortably at the table, comes the waiter and the man says: A schnitzel and a beer, fucking Audi drivers *spuck*. The waiter only wonders and writes the order. • Audi TT Coupé 2.0 TDI

Hello guys, short question: is there interest in the factory-side equipment of an Audi TT coupé with a 2.0 TDI unit? The background is obvious, it is sometimes a question of consumption. As a parallel example of the A3 with 2.0 TDI requires for a fast motorway ride at 230 (and in the average, in the display visible cut of 140km/h) around 7.8 liters per 100km. The “smallest” TT requires for this between 12-14 L per 100km. The factory-side release for this unit, Ste I would only be interested in the demand for such an execution. If you would like to report, a short “interested me” is of course enough just like a small execution of those who have already done it themselves because of lack of implementation. Thank you very much.

  • ITG plate filter installed yesterday

Hey, so, after careful consideration and recommendation of a not unknown forum member (thanks to Markus!) I decided for the ITG plate filter. It makes a good impression at first glance. Foam rubber plate with a very tough oil liquid and absolute fit accuracy. Now you can of course not expect from a change plate filter the world, but the intake noise is clearly louder and the engine is a bit more revolving (subjective impression regarding turn Fryer). All in all, I have the impression that the whole engine has become a bit louder. However, I cannot (yet) notice the louder exhaust noise as with NOS. The part costs incl. shipping and NN 62 EURO and is imported by ISA-Racing from England. Waiting time about 4 weeks, which is worth it.

  • HIFI installation dimensions in the TTR

I’ve been looking for the box installation dimensions in my TTR for a long time – so far unfortunately unsuccessful :- ( currently own a Helix 500Q MKII power amplifier and would like to feed it with the suitable boxes. Prerequisite: only original installation spaces should be used (except final stage of course ;-)). The question now arises which boxes fit into the doors, into the rear installation places and which sub can I screw between the seats? For the front places I don’t want me hr than 200,-€, for rear max. 100,-€ and for the sub around 150,-€. I currently prefer Canton QS2.16 (or Rainbow or Focal?) for front. Back: a coax from the same company as before 🙂 Sub: I don’t know! Hope of you can help me! Thank you very much!
