Hello! I’m new here! A few weeks ago I moved to Australia. Now a vehicle purchase is on. I will look at two models on Friday. Once a Land Rover Freelander, V6, Bj 2002, KM 120,000, checkbook maintained and once a Land Rover Discovery LS BJ 1998, 3.9 liters, KM 193,000, checkbook maintained. Basically I only have one question for both vehicles. What do I have to pay attention to in order not to land a wrong purchase? Thank you.

Front apron torn off at parking space with high curb
Hello fellow driver and reader, something stupid happened to me today: I used to park in the same street, but the curb on this one parking space seems to be a little higher than the other. Unfortunately, I only noticed this when driving back Long story shot: Front apron torn off at one side. Of course, the “special” at the parking spaces is that they run perpendicular to the road and are about centrally separated by the curb. The parking spaces are also marked with white lines. In the same street there are many such parking spaces, where the curb is however much lower. My questions are: 1. Is the community here in obligation to repair? 2. Do I have a chance to participate in damage from the community? I had no time for photos, could not stop anywhere and had to go to the university… P.S.: Here’s a sketch to explain the situation. (Parliament adopted the legislative resolution)

Scrambler Conversion
Moin, a short preview on my part – come from the far north and actually drive BMW R1100 GS, but also have an XL600LM, which I want to convert to the Scrambler! Now just throw the question into the room, has someone done that before? If yes, with tips and experiences. The conversion should run as TÜV compliant as possible! Therefore first the most obvious questions: Shorten rear frame – possible TÜV entry? What max. tire width can I with the Origin Enduro or Trial profile of course!!! Which smaller rim instead of the 19″ fits in front of the fork? And maximum width?! Or which other rims can I install without problems with the TÜV? Which shorter suspension leg for the rear? Ideas for the tank, exhaust and cracker? So thank you for the start and hopefully also for the many upcoming tips?!!! Gruss Tammo

Leistng/Motor Speed Triple
Hello, I’ve been trying out the most different super athletes lately and currently have a Suzuki SV 650 S. Next In the past, I want to get something new. It’s definitely something in the 1000s class with at least 120 hp and full torque. What bothers me about the otherwise perfect super athletes are the steering squirrels and the associated wrist pain. Now to the Speed Triple: optically one of my favorite motorcycles. But I want more topspeed than the 240 things! That’s why I would like to know from you triple drivers what the performance of the triple is like. In the magazines you often read that it is more powerful and that it is over the entire speed band, but from my experience I learned that a smooth torque band does not feel subjectively so fast. So compared to e.g. ZX10R or 1000erGixxer, where the power and also the torque increase more or less proportionally to the speed, kan If you don’t compare the Triple, it’s safe quickly. But you can say that it has at least something of the character of a super sportsman or pulls it more or less evenly like a CB 1300 or other big bikes and therefore boring for my taste through the speed range? And what does it do according to Tacho Spitze? Previously already for the critics: I know that the Triple is a beautiful bike for many uses and full of state-of-the-art technology We should not make comparisons to a Japanese supersportsman, because it would be unfair. But the above questions are the ones I would like to know about this bike…. Greeting Daniel

Vmax and xenon
Hi, my brother picked up his TTR 225ps today 1st hand 40k km and after proper warm driving on the highway he runs unfortunately only 240 km/h according to the speedometer.(doesn’t run great otherwise no stalling and jerking) Now it’s definitely on the LMM when I read the forum like this. What do you mean? Should we pull off the LMM and test Vmax again or wouldn’t that be so good for the engine? Or what else could it lie on? And one more thing, the car has Xenon light and left next to the steering wheel a light wide enregulation is that normal ? That should actually be automatically controlled at Xenon is in any case so in the manual.

Problems with 3.2er ???
Hi @all, I finally got my 3.2er 3 weeks ago and I’m really excited about the part. However, I have a little problem. When I went through the KickDown yesterday on the road from Tempo 100 to overtake the KickDown, he had a pause of probably 1.5 to 2 seconds until really what happened. Is this normal or is it true with my DSG what is not? If you have any experiences then would be nice if you could share them with me. Greeting Jens

Buy: Better 180 or 225 hp?
What would you recommend, rather the small or the big ones? The important points for me are the following: 1. Is the small one much slower, or do you not need the extra power? 2. Does the large one consume much more? 3. Does one pay a very high extra price for the insurance (VK/HP)? 4. How is the reperure vulnerability, engine damage, LMM, etc Thanks for all helpful tips! P.S. Since I have already read a lot about engine damage: How many kms happens because most s?

Complete or partial cascade?
In the meantime I got my first car. Is a Opel Astra GTC (2012), cost me a little over 10,000 and has run 50t KM. Although no Ferrari is for me but already something halfway high-quality/teures, because it has used up my savings (not everything) and I am still a trainee. Live however still with the parents (because no rent, otherwise I could not have afforded the car). Now of course a car insurance and I ask myself the question which it should be. Vol lkasko or Teilkasko? And where exactly should the excess be located? I have checked through these check24 things, because the majority of the users seem to do so with the car. Excess is 300€ (UK) and 150€ (TK). Now it’s just that the average that is used is probably firmly employed. An apprentice would/could not possibly afford such a car without the next 3-4 years from the owner. and to live in the mouth. And the life probably also not with Mama & Papa and are probably rather busy already. Therefore they probably also have a little more money available. How should I now proceed now best? What should I choose in your opinion? Did as said times shot through at Check24 and then I pay half-yearly at the respective cheapest/best offer 670€ (VK) and 450€ (TK). So I would tend to be more comprehensive then, but I don’t know what there is and what exactly I enjoy for extra compared to Teilkasko. Counted by the year, this is already a few hundred euros then, of course, that should be worthwhile. How do you see that?

Total total damage. What possibilities are there?
A friend asked me here to ask briefly what options he has. Values from the report: Repair costs without VAT 5794.31 VAT 19% 1100.92 Repair costs with VAT 6895.23 Assessment no repair release replacement value (difference tax 2.5%) 5.170.73 Replacement value with VAT 5.300,00 Residual value with VAT 2.720,00 Excess profit 500,00 Costs Emergency repair without VAT 49,00 Insurance has already transferred the 1950,73 €. Car was hit by a guardrail and the complete driver side from front to back is scratched. Son of the vehicle owner is a car mechanic and he would fix the vehicle a little bit together again. So car should be kept. What other possibilities are there now, except to take the 1950,- € and to do nothing more with the insurance? – Can he ask for the VAT for parts that he has to buy (e.g. new fenders)? – If the son does this free of charge rep Is there any way that the insurance must pay for repairs (complete repair?, road safety repair?) up to the replacement value? Do you need more information in order to be able to assess this? Thank you very much!

Private Austrian photographing all cars from behind (inside)
Hello forum, last Saturday we drove the Lechtal in Austria from the south to the north. There was a tragic accident.http://www.tt.com/…/…hwerverversichert-bei-motorradverfall-in-elmen.csp We were then made aware by a helper of a redirection to the other side of the Lech. There were a lot of cars and motorcycles turned around and drove the following redirection:https://www.google.de/…/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0 So all people drove along the Klimm (a bike path) around then to return to Martinau on normal roads. As I said from south to north. And then, like many others, I drove through Martinau from south to north. There, on the left, a small group of locals stood on a private property in front of a barn. A gentleman had a system camera with a strong zoom in his hand and on his eye. He photographed every single vehicle from behind after it had passed the property of this gentleman. The place of the house as well as the place (about 30m further) where the photo was taken were already no longer a cycle path but quite normal inner city streets. I guess he would like to use these photos to report this to the police and to provide for a “fair punishment”. If he is not allowed to use the photos legally, he still has the possibility to bring the number plates from the photos on paper, so write them off, and then use the “exterior witnesses” to show the vehicle owners . 1. Has he violated my personal right according to Austrian law? 2. Can a private person take mass photos of vehicles in Ö? 3. Does EU law apply in Ö? 4. If the Austrian police actually accept the photos, how expensive is that then? 5. How much effort will it be for the gentleman to display the 100 drivers? 6. Are there mass advertisements in Austria? (I don’t believe, but you never know) Gruss W.
